What she felt on the fourth day kept her awake all night, but she showed no signs of tiredness the next day.
Tapiwa was on cloud nine even though she didn't feel anything after the bath but it was because she still felt something and the method was working despite being in a whole different environment.
Each subsequent day was more agonizing than the previous one. And, unlike the fourth day, when she awoke with no senses, the next three days were all different. Tapiwa could feel the energy contained within the stones as long as she remained near the duartz, and she was relishing every bit of it.
And her excitement made her brave enough to endure the agonizing hour she would spend soaking herself.
Tapiwa eventually completed the awakening ritual after a satisfying week, and while she wasn't sure what kind of power she had awoken, she was certain that her life had already changed.
She was no longer a normal human being, and that alone was enough to keep her enthralled for the rest of her life.
She couldn't examine her nucleus yet since it was still frail, but with additional energy, her nucleus will get stronger, bigger, and more easily checked.
And the only way to do so was to take energy from the duartz stone, and the simplest approach was to soak her entire body.
It would be much easier if she could learn a cultivation method, but she didn't have any of that information, so what she did know was sufficient for her.
The next step in determining which kind of power she had awakened was for her to find items that were related to the many elements that existed in that realm.
Fortunately for Tapiwa, elements are naturally the same no matter which planet she was on, so she didn't have to worry about not knowing which element she could now control after awakening.
Tapiwa couldn't sleep that night after finishing the ceremony because she was too excited and nervous all night.
Tapiwa got out of bed early the next morning and began gathering all the connected materials she could think of, a stone, a lamp, a cup of water, a flower, an empty metal cup, and a wooden comb.
She discovered items relating to earth, fire, water, plants, metal, and wood. She had no idea where to look for further elements, but these were sufficient for the time being. These were the common elements, and having control over at least one of them was already a blessing.
Tapiwa sat on the floor, her heart racing as she moved the items closer to her to begin her test.
The wooden comb was the first thing she chose. To be honest, she didn't want anything to do with this kind of ability deep down inside her heart. She had no desire to become a carpenter because there were few advantages to working with wood or trees.
What she needed to do was raise her hand slightly above the item and concentrate. She must will the item to move, and if it does, she has an affinity for that type of element.
She followed the directions and breathed a sigh of relief when she discovered no reaction despite exerting considerable effort to move the comb for two minutes.
She then tested with the metal cup and the stone, and the findings shook her to her core.
The metal cup didn't move an inch, which was a shame since if she had an aptitude for metal, she'd be extremely wealthy very quickly.
Iron was a mineral that governments had a lot of control over, thus owning something made of iron was considered an honor; the same was true for plastic and glass.
She had paid a lot of money to have multiple metal cups with her, and whenever she thought about how much money she had lost back then due to these two cups, her heart would ache severely.
She would be able to sense any minerals related to metal if she had a metal ability, and given how unique it was, wouldn't she be making money from left to right without moving a finger?
She needed a lot of money to live the life she desired, and the ideas she gained in those other realms weren't enough to elevate her to the position she desired. So having a cheat would do the trick, but she missed out on this money-making opportunity.
She was dejected after failing, so she chose the next thing at random, a stone. She didn't have much hope. After all, controlling the earth was difficult.
Will understanding how to manipulate the earth make one powerful?
Her land was a wasteland, and if she gained this talent, she could turn it into arable land. And when the land improves, she planned to plant crops and sell them to make money.
Of course, there were many more wonderful things she wanted to do with her land, whether it was a wasteland or not, but the idea of turning the wasteland into a place of gold piqued Tapiwa's interest.
Because of this, she had no prospect of getting this skill and chose to test for all important abilities first before moving on to the others she didn't consider important.
As a result, when she placed her hand over the stone and observed it shake after a few seconds, she felt as if she was hallucinating. As a result, she tried again, and seeing it tremble, she realized the window was open and felt it made sense, so she stood up and proceeded to close both the window and the door before sitting down again.
After that, she tested again and sat there stunned in shock, 'it really moved!'
She couldn't believe what she was seeing. What made this to happen?
Was she that fortunate to have anything so amazing as this?
Tapiwa's mood couldn't be articulated in words at the time, but she knew she had to keep going and examine every single part before celebrating what had had just happened.
So, when she began testing for the remaining elements, she wasn't as nervous as she had been, and she wasn't looking forward to anything.
She had never seen someone with a dual ability on that planet, or her own and those she had heard of were all extraordinary geniuses who were also extremely unusual.
It was already a blessing to be gifted, and one should not be too greedy, or the disappointment will be severe.
Tapiwa then checked for fire and plant, and the findings were as expected, so it didn't hurt too much.
'I can control the earth, and that is enough.'
