After leaving the examination room, Kim Min-ho walked hesitantly toward his room. The bright morning atmosphere seemed in contrast to his deepening confusion. All the test results he received today revealed something unexpected: he was in a much better condition than he had anticipated.
This reality puzzled his mind, and he felt an oddity in all of this. For so long, Chrono Syndrome had haunted his life with worsening symptoms, yet suddenly, the test results indicated he was recovering?
"Doctor Yoo said I'm in a stable condition," Min-ho muttered to himself.
"But, could this be possible? Has my illness truly vanished?"
Confusion haunted every step. Each step toward his room felt like a stride into a new and unfamiliar universe. On one hand, he felt happiness at the possibility of his ailment improving. On the other, he held a deep uncertainty about how all of this could happen so abruptly.
Upon reaching his room's door, Min-ho paused. He took a long breath and stared at the door as if it led to an unsolved mystery of great magnitude. He entered, allowing the door to close behind him.
However, instead of immediately lying down on his bed, Min-ho decided to do something different. He wanted to clear his mind, attempt to find answers, or at the very least, seek solace. His wrist gripped the door handle tightly, as if he wanted to connect with the world beyond.
His steps led him to the garden near the examination room. The garden exuded a peaceful atmosphere, with lush trees and neatly arranged chairs. He chose a seat beneath a large tree, seeking a calming shade.
Min-ho sat, gazing blankly at the ground before him. A gentle cool breeze blew, bringing the freshness of the morning air. The rustling of leaves sounded like hushed whispers. But despite the serene surroundings, his heart remained turbulent with confusion.
"How could all of this happen?" he murmured softly.
He felt a profound burden of bewilderment, as if everything had become distorted. Min-ho touched his chest, trying to absorb the strong beat of his heart. Yet, his heart felt like it wrestled with unanswered questions.
Min-ho's gaze drifted to the sky, observing the slow-moving white clouds. He felt isolated within his own world, contemplating how all of this could be possible. There was something illogical about all of this, and he felt like there was a massive puzzle to be unraveled.
"Could all of this only be possible in my dreams? Or is there something greater unfolding?" Min-ho asked himself, his voice faintly carried by the wind. He attempted to seek out answers, yet he felt like he was drowning in a sea of confusion.
His gaze returned to the garden around him, attempting to find tranquility in this peaceful universe. He took a deep breath, feeling the crispness of the air in his lungs. Even though his confusion remained unresolved, he sensed that he had to remain strong and open to whatever might happen.
Perhaps there were things in this world larger than he could comprehend. Maybe answers would come in their own time. Min-ho pondered these thoughts, allowing the warmth of the morning to flow into him.
In the quiet of the garden, Min-ho contemplated the mysteries within his life. He felt connected to a broader world, with all the possibilities he might discover in the future.
Min-ho sat in the tranquility of the garden, seeking solace amid the haunting questions that plagued his mind. The cool morning breeze played with his hair, carrying the fresh aroma of the trees around him. He was nearly lost in his own thoughts when something caught his attention.
A 15-year-old teenager walked by with light steps. He had black hair framing his face, an expression full of cheerfulness. However, what surprised Min-ho was the strange red inscription above the boy's head. Above his head was written the name "Lee Ji-hoon" and numbers that Min-ho immediately recognized as the remaining time of his life: "2 Years, 174 Days, 9 Hours."
Min-ho rubbed his eyes, convinced that this was an illusion or perhaps a side effect of his confusion. But, as he glanced again, the writing remained above the boy's head. His heartbeat quickened, and this peculiarity interrupted his deep thoughts.
He tried to make sure this wasn't a fantasy. When a nurse passed nearby, Min-ho quickly approached her. "Excuse me, sorry. But do you see any writing above that child's head?" he asked, pointing towards Lee Ji-hoon.
The nurse frowned, looking at Min-ho puzzled. "Writing above the child's head? Sorry, I don't see anything," the nurse replied gently.
Min-ho felt as if everything suddenly spun and turned in an instant. He took a deep breath, trying to calm down his racing heartbeat. "Alright, maybe this is just an illusion or perhaps a side effect of the medication I took," he muttered to himself.
As he looked back at Lee Ji-hoon, he found the peculiarity even more perplexing. The boy laughed cheerfully, talking with his friends, seemingly unaware of the strange writing above his head. Min-ho took hesitant steps toward the boy.
"Excuse me, Lee Ji-hoon-ssi," Min-ho cautiously greeted.
Lee Ji-hoon turned towards him, smiling warmly. "Oh, hey! How are you?" he said cheerfully.
Min-ho nodded, but his gaze remained fixed on the writing above Lee Ji-hoon's head. "I... I see something above your head. Writing with your name and remaining time of life."
Lee Ji-hoon's expression turned puzzled, and he scratched his head while laughing. "Haha, you're funny. There's nothing above my head. I don't know what you mean."
Min-ho felt like he was diving deeper into his confusion. "This can't be possible. What's happening?" he thought to himself. He felt isolated and didn't understand what was unfolding.
Lee Ji-hoon eventually furrowed his brows, looking concerned. "Um, I don't know what you're talking about, but I hope you're okay."
Min-ho simply nodded weakly, sensing his confusion deepening. As Lee Ji-hoon continued his journey with his friends, Min-ho pondered in silence. What had he just witnessed? What was happening to him?
His gaze returned to the peaceful garden around him. He felt disconnected from the world he knew. Min-ho realized that this world was more complex than he could imagine. And in his quest for answers to the peculiarity he experienced, he felt that there might be something bigger and more mysterious behind all of this, something he still needed to uncover.
