Chapter 9 - Chapter 6

Cassy?

"What happened?!" I panicked hugging her tightly. Oh my goodness, what happened? Why is she crying. Well, yes Cassy crying is a big deal.

I swear to my life, I have never seen this girl cry before. Like not even a single tear. "Hey calm down" I rub her back soothingly.

She's frozen for a minute before she decides to give in and cries. I hold her for like another minute before I pull away. I don't know why but I feel so protective right now.

I look at her as she tries to wipe her tears. "Is everything alright?" I ask worried. She nods wiping the last bit of tears. "Hey it's alright you don't need to act. I won't judge I promise" I said understanding how she feels.

She looks at me and smiles brightly. But I see it through her smile. It's fake. I don't say anything though. I Don want to interrupt her personal space. After all we're just acquaintances.

"I'm absolutely great. You know sometimes my water level gets too high so crying the water out?" She tried to explain. What an excuse. Even if I want to I can't believe her excuse is true.

I nod and look at her to make sure she's alright. The something got in my excuse is better than this one. "Okay then. I hope your water levels are normal now?" She smiles and nods.

I stand up and give her my hand. She takes it and stands up. We stand there for a few seconds before it gets awkward. "Uhh I'll take my leave then" I said pointing at the door.

She immediately nods. "Yeah sure, go ahead" I went back and grabbed my stuff. I hung the bag around my shoulder saying a short bye.

I was about to exit "hey!" She called me. I looked back at her. "Please don't tell anyone" she said looking down. I smiled gently and said "I got you" and left the greenhouse. She really thought I'd gossip about it?

Like who do I even talk to? Elisa? Oh. Elisa. Yeah right. I got her concern. Yeah, I definitely won't tell anyone about this.

I walked a few steps and it started raining. Oh god. Why?! I looked around and found no shade. The only way to save myself was the college building so I took a turn and ran.

I definitely don't want the papers to get wet. I'm not gonna stand for an hour to get these again.

I clutched my bag to my chest as I ran faster. I dipped my head down out of reflex and I was about to reach the building when I bumped into something, or I'd say someone.

I was about to fall but they caught me and dragged me into the building before I could speak. Like have I made a record of bumping into people?

I looked at the brunette and smiled apologetically. "I'm so sorry, I didn't see you there" He shrugged casually and said "It's alright"

"Yeah" I said clutching my bag tightly. He raised an eyebrow and asked "You're not hurt now are you?" I immediately nodded.

"I'm not!" I replied. He squinted his eyes. "I've never seen you around here before. You're new? How did you enter? Took permission?" He asked so many questions at once.

"Oh, um actually I'm from the South campus" I said briefly. He scrunched his brows further. "And who gave you the permission to enter our premises?" We need permission to enter any campus of our college?

"Um, we were having a festival here next month and as I'm the President of the book club, I wan-" "You're the President?" He cut me as both of his eyebrows touched the sky.

I rubbed a hand on the back of my head. "Um yeah?" Okay this is getting awkward. "Oh oh okay okay!" He said suddenly in a hurry.

"You're all wet, you need a change?" He asked suddenly looking here and there. "Um excuse me?" I was confused. "Oh we have extra clothes kept here and there because of the frequent rain" he explained.

What does he mean by frequent rain?

"Oh. No I'm fine I guess, I'll just leave once the rain stops" I explained with an awkward smile. "Oh okay! Do you need anything? Or anyone? You want warm drinks? Blanket? Or do-" "No no calm down I'm fine" I explain.

He understood my awkwardness and immediately apologized. "I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make it awkward" he said looking at me sincerely. Okay wow. He seems pretty serious.

"It's alright!" I said hurriedly. "I'm Mark" he said bowing his head. Uh, why is he bowing? I was about to ask when his friend suddenly called him from distance. "I'll see you around!" He said before

If jogging towards them.

I looked outside to see that the rain has died down. It's pretty sunny now. I walked out of the building. I took two steps and suddenly felt a chill run up my spine. I looked back as the lavender scent suddenly masked the surrounding.

It's back. Once again.

After I stormed back to our campus I headed straight up to Elisa. Well, hell I need information.

I went around searching for her but she was nowhere to be seen. Where the fuck did this girl go. To make sure I went to the parking lot and bam, her car was there.

But where is she? I went back to college as my watch ticked. Okay, I need to attend this class. Papers are ahead, I need Mr. Greyson's help regarding the projects and it's all very important.

I walked into the class and found out that most of the students were absent.

I sat down in the front row as always. I was taking out my books when I heard a few kids murmur. "Hey, you attending the Jungle after this class?"

The other one didn't reply. Okay, so that's why I can't find her. A Jungle is a crazy party where everyone is allowed to enter. Our college is especially famous for its Jungles. Like the rich ass kids throw the biggest parties and students from other colleges also join often.

I never went to any, it's too crowded and loud. But to Elisa, to her it's the biggest hub to get information. She says it's the place where she can find any and every information.

I swear to God she never missed a Jungle. She even tried to convince me to go with her but I denied. I ain't going to a hell of sweaty drunk teens undressing to loud music.

But where is this Jungle this time? I bent backwards to listen to the girls. "Well you need to attend! Caleb is going to be there" the girl whispers to the other one.

"Um" the other girl hesitates when the first girl says "come on you won't be uncomfortable, Dylan is throwing the Jungle. He's nice asf and you're gonna love it!" The other girl just remained silent.

Okay, what should I do? I dropped Elisa a text and put my phone beside me to attend the class.

Me: Hey, can you meet me? I need information on something.

I don't think she'll reply anytime soon so I decide to focus on class.

Mr. Greyson starts his lecture but I just couldn't focus enough. The lavendery scent was making me feel overwhelmed.

Like every second the scent was getting stronger and denser.

At some point I didn't realise I was gripping my hair to hair resist the smell when suddenly I felt a hand on my shoulder.

I looked up and it was Ivan. He was looking at me worriedly. "Hey are you alright?" He said as he sat down beside me.

"Um yeah, I'm great" I said gently letting my hair go. "If you want me to take you to the nurse I can you know?"

I ignored his question. "What are you doing here?" I asked shyly. He gave me a wide grin and said "I came to find you" and my cheeks were warm all of a sudden.

He came to find me? Why? Wha- he waved his hand in the air and said "I was kidding, I was kidding. I happened to roam around and found this class and just entered and saw you. What a lucky coincidence right?"

I looked up at him and he was smiling. Ahh, that smile. Adorable. I thought. I looked down at my book once again blushing like a new born tomato.

"Hey so you what are you doing after the class?" He asked out of no where. Now, I have it a serious thought and realised I have a day from my shift at the library today so I have nothing to do at all.

"Um, nothing much" I whispered but ofcourse he heard. "Great! Then you're coming with me to the Jungle" he said thumping his back on the backrest of the seat.

I laughed apologetically. "Uh, I'm really sorry but I'm not into parties. They are never my type" I said. "Hey! Come on you owe me one" he reminded me of the time I promised to grab coffee with him.

"Well, that's coffee and this is a freaking Jungle" I explained. "Prez you'll love it trust me" he tried to convince. I nodded my head in disapproval.

"I'll pass this time" I said. I don't want to go there. Exams are coming I have a dozen of  paper work and I cannot afford a headache.

"Fest is coming. There'll be people you might want to talk you know....where I'm pointing this? I've heard the other presidents will be there too and you know you might get some business done?" He got me there.

"Fine" I replied. "So, let's go?" He asked holding his hand out for me. "after the class" I replied. Maybe I can find Elisa there too. I dropped a quick text to my family group.

Yeah, it's me and the grands. But both of em will know where I am, so it's easy.

Me - I have an urgent book meeting, so I'll be home late. I'll grab sweets on my way home :)

Yeah, I bribed them. It's the only way they won't question me too much and I won't get caught.

I looked at Ivan and smiled tightly before nodding.

So we have a Jungle to attend.
