"Let's head" I said walking out of the class. I was walking when I noticed that Ivan stopped.
I looked at him. What is it now? "You're not going like that" he stated. I looked down at myself. Well I look elegant. I'm wearing a simple white dress with small flowers all over it. It has cute puffed glass sleeves and a boat neckline.
What is wrong with my dress? Even my ribbon and shoes match my dress.
I looked at him questioningly. He immediately walked towards me grabbing me by my forearm and dragging me with him.
Okay?
He dragged me to the parking area. He opened the back of his car. Idk what they call it, yeah not into cars much yet.
"Do you have spare clothes?" He asked. "No" I replied shortly. Why would I have spare clothes with me? He pulled out a bag and handed it to me "Prez, you're naive"
I scrunched my eyebrows taking the bag. "Who doesn't carry extra clothes? What if you spill coffee on this one or it rains or something close to it. Like you're already looking like you've been soaked in rain" he stated.
Okay, yeah. I can't argue with that one. But I can't just roam around with an entire outfit in my bag? Like excuse me? Where will I fit my books?
He read my mind "Not too many just, Jeans and tees are fine?"
I looked down at my shoes. With these? Well, I'm a classy fashionable freak. I don't go out wearing just anything. It takes me an hour at night to decide my outfit for the next day. And I certainly do not regret spending that hour.
He rolled his eyes and smiled. "Hey, it's fine. No one's looking at you. You can be yourself in jeans as well"
I feel myself more in dresses. But the fact that he thought about my concerns. It's just so cute!! like way too cute. Did anyone ever tell him that he gives the Sugar boy vibes?
"I think your clothes will be a bit too big on me" I said looking inside the bag. He laughed "Oh no, these aren't mine. These are my cousin's. She left these the last time I dropped her and her lazy ass couldn't pick these up yet"
"Ohh okay" I said taking out the pair of jeans and a turtle neck white tee. I would definitely not wear these if I had a choice. "Plus you're going as my date. You cannot go like a Victorian model. No one's gonna look at me then" he winked. A date? He's taking me out on a date? And to think he didn't even ask me out. But wait. He called me a Victorian model.
And damn did it make me blush. Does he really think I look good in these? Ahhhhh I knew my choice of clothes were amazing! After I asked him to wait, I headed to the washroom they have in the parking area and changed.
They fit me like a glove. Wow. His cousin and I share a good size ratio. My wedges don't look bad so I'll just let it be. I took off my ribbon and tied my hair up in a messy bun with the claw clip I had. I fixed my glasses and did an outfit check.
Okay, I don't look that bad.
I walked out and headed towards Ivan who was talking on his phone. I tapped on his shoulder and he looked at me. I don't know why but he suddenly stopped talking and looked at me as if I was an alien. Do I look bad?
His eyes scanned me from my shoes to the tip of my bun. "Wow, you look beautiful" he said declining his call. I couldn't help but blush and look down. I thanked him quietly and we hopped inside his car. Ok I definitely don't look bad.
I looked inside his car and it screamed money. Okay is it me or everyone in this collage is rich? I feel like a poor maid rn. Okay I know my grands aren't poor but I never imagined them to be so rich. Like what did they even do? Run a mafia?
No actually I would've known it if they did. They are bad at hiding stuff.
I sat quietly as Ivan drove us to Dylan's place. It was a quiet and comfortable ride. The radio played soft music and the rain still drizzled gently. I didn't realise we reached, I was so consumed by my thoughts until I heard my side of the door open.
Ivan looked down at me and smirked "You do like the old fashioned way, don't you?" and guess what? my reponse was the dumbfounded look, coz I'm naive ofcourse. He rolled his eyes when he noticed that I didn't understand his joke. He held out his hand for me and said "You wanted me to open the door for you so you sat till I came and did"
Okay, he's more naive than I am. I nodded anyways. Whatever makes him sleep at night. "You are the first girl who didn't stupidly laugh at my jokes even when they don't understand it"
"They do that?" it came out of my mouth surprising us both. He grinned widely and said "You do speak, huh?" And once again I blushed.
I might end up as an actual tomato by the end of this year. I took his hand and got out looking down. He started chuckling and said "You're cute"
Did he just call me cute? My conscience rolled her eyes at me. Ofcourse he did. Ahhh, he thinks I'm cute!! "These clothes make you look even more beautiful" he said. I guess I'll take that as a compliment even though I don't find these attractive.
I'd still much rather prefer my dresses over these.
We walked into the party and I noticed he was holding my hand. We entered and everyone kept staring at us. I was so embarrassed that I couldn't help but look down. Oh my goodness I might just melt right here.
He lead me to his group. Okay why? I don't even know these people. One thing about me, I'm not friendly or comfortable around strangers at all. I need a lot of time to know people and decide. Dropping me between a bunch of assholic teenagers isn't the solution.
He gave my hand a squeeze when he noticed my panicked expression. "Hey, I'm here. Don't talk if you don't want to. I'm here" he reassured me. I gave him a tight smile and nodded.
His friends noticed us and whistled in union. "Who is this beautiful lady?" One em asked eyeing me. Oh god, he's friends with perverts? Ivan rolled his eyes and pulled me closer. "My date"
Okay that took me by surprise and I looked at him and he was already smiling at me. Wow, I feel like I'm living a dream. I felt my cheeks getting hot already. I decided to remain quiet and just stared at the ground.
"So she's the prez of the book club I joined a few days ago" he introduced me properly. And one of the guy raised both his brows as realisation hit him.
"So this is the beauty you couldn't g-" he couldn't finish as the other guy smacked his head. And by smack, well if it was me in his place, I would've fainted.
They started laughing awkwardly and I was dumbfounded. What was he saying? Beauty? Me? Is this supposed to be some kind of joke? No, I'm not saying I'm ugly. Nope, I'm normal and average.
But I never expected anyone to discuss about me or even notice me. I was deep in thoughts when suddenly chills ran down my spine and turned around immediately.
I looked around but there was no one. I could feel the eyes on me. I'm sure. Someone's looking at me. My eyes scanned the room once again but I failed to find the pair of eyes.
I continued looking when suddenly my eyes got stuck to a pair of light green ones. His face wasn't visible, but the way he looked at me made me want to clutch my legs in both fear and pleasure.
His intent look never left me. As if his eyes were warning me. The pool of darkness in those eyes made my knees feel weak. Agony burned through them. As if he was two seconds away from ending my life.
Our eyes lingered onto eachother. The sudden battle of temptation almost made me breathless. I could see in them, just so much could do to me. Every voice seemed to have blurred at the moment and I could only read the song his eyes sang. The tension between our eyes only grew more.
The way they looked at me, as if he would devour every inch of me the moment he gets a chance. And that scared the shit out of me, yet a weird wave of weakness hit my core.
Our eyes were trapped as if performing visual sex. The intensity his gaze just made me want to discover more of him. I didn't realise when I slowly started stepping towards them. A spell of hypnotism surrounded by conciousness.
Suddenly I felt a tap on my shoulder and the trans seemed to break. I looked back and Elisa was smiling at me. I looked in the direction of those eyes again.
They were no longer inside the room. I looked around but they weren't there anymore. Elisa tapped once again.
Right. Her. The reason I came here in the first place. "Borrowing your date" she told Ivan in a sing song way and dragged me towards the other side of the room.
"So girly. My ten thousand begs didn't work but his one time shopping did?" She asked wiggling her eyebrows. What does she mean? "Huh?"
She rolled her eyes and said "These jeans and the top babe. I didn't know you had a secret perk for the latest fashion. I thought you were Shakespeare's long lost lover." she nudged my shoulder.
"These?" I pointed at my outfit. "No these aren't mine! They are his cousin's. She left them in his car accidentally a while ago and I was completely wet s-" "Girl girl girlllll" she cut me as she clutched both my shoulders together.
"These jeans launched today in the market and the top you're wearing rn. It's not easily found, it's a limited edition" she explained.
Huh? What's so special about these? Normal jeans and top I can find at Target? "But these are normal. Everyone is dressing similar to me" I told her.
She shook her head smiling. "Babe, look around. Rn, every girl in the room is jealous of you" and I looked around. Yeah, they are giving me some kind of death stare, some were giving me nasty stares and some were just staring blankly.
Okay, I don't like the attention. I looked back at her. "Okay, but why would he lie?" I asked her scrunching my brows. She rolled her eyes and smacked my head saying "Girl obviously he's into you"
"Oww" I squeaked quietly rubbing my head. "I don't think that's the matter" I tried to reason. But she overpowered my reasoning.
"Well, why would he lie if he wasn't into you? And it's not like his cousin got hands on these early, also you both have the exact same size? Don't you think that would be too many coincidences at once?" She explained checking her nails out.
Okay, yeah. True. But why would he like me? Like, I'm not anywhere near his type. He usually dates the go to expressive extroverted tall girl.
I'm no where near them. Even my height can't reach his expectations. I'm a typical 5'0 girl with light curves. And all the girls he dated, they had unique features. Some had blonde hair, some green eyes and some were super curvy while others were just perfect models.
I'm just simple.
"Want me to grab you something to drink?" She asked pointing at the juice counter. I nodded. "Non alcoholic anything will work" I told.
And she knew better than getting me alcohol. Grandma's senses are way stronger even at her age she'll catch me at once.
She went to grab me a drink and I stood there awkwardly. I looked around and everyone was enjoying themselves. It's the opposite of what I imagined it to be.
The party isn't much loud. Almost like a wedding dinner party but with teens in casuals. The music was soft everyone chuckled and laughed in their groups.
The room was huge as well. I looked at Elisa's direction and it seemed she was stuck between a few girls. I decided to scroll through a few pages of the book I was reading until she comes.
I tapped my hands on my pocket and my phone wasn't there. Oh, it was in my bag. Must be in the car. I headed towards Ivan and he seemed pretty caught up. "Um hey" I tapped on his back.
He looked at me and immidiately gave me a huge smile. "Hey prez, you enjoying?" He asked and I gave him a tight smile. "Yeah, um I actually left my phone at the car. Um would please um...help me....get it?" I asked nervously.
"Sure!" he said digging his hands into his pocket and taking his keys out. He handed me the keys "here you go"
He gave me his keys so simply? This man would go bankrupt if he trusts people so easily. "Thanks. I'll give it back right away" I said taking the keys from him.
"It's fine, I trust you" he said winking. I blushed once he turned back to continue his conversation.
I went outside to the parking and immidiately recognised his car and I recognised another car as well. The black car I saw the other day. I fetched my phone from the car immediately and opened the pic I took the other day. Yep, it's that one.
I was examining the car when suddenly my eyes fell on another particular car. I scrunched my brows. It's not possible. No. It must be someone else's. My feet dragged me towards the car and I examined it closely. My eyes fell on the small doll keychain that hung inside the car.
I immidiately recognised it. But how?
It was mom's car.
