Laura and Linda had their mouths wide open in extreme shock. That surprise however soon changed to fear, they had seen dead Adam's body, and ghosts didn't exist.....or did they??.No they definitely didn't...right?.
"Lex what's going on ?"Laura asked in a firm voice. Even if she was confused she was happy to see Adam. Even if it was his ghost or something as long as the school doesn't realize he's a ghost it should be fine.... right. 'I think spending time with kids is negatively affecting my intelligence ' Laura thought as she mentally slapped her own forehead.
"What do you mean ?" Lex casually asked Laura as he walked over to Linda and gave her a side hug. Turning the poor girl's face beet red.
'Looks like he's back to normal' Linda thought.
"Adam was dead!!!" Laura shouted. These words grabbed the attention of everyone in the room. Especially Tina, who moved a little bit from Adam's arms.
"What is she talking about" she asked.
"Uhh Lex can you explain to the rest. I need some alone time" Adam said with a wave of his hand while the other one was leading Tina out of the hall.
'Oookay the evolution made him even more arrogant' Lex thought.
On their way to the hall , Lex and Adam had talked about how they would explain if Laura had already told the team. Even if they found her before she talked they had to explain to her anyway since she thought Adam was dead. As for Linda, Lex was going to explain to her the truth.
Lex advised Adam not to tell Tina anything quite yet. He thought it was better for them to first understand their situation fully. Lex hadn't even told Adam that he was now a hybrid and he was kinda worried how his brother would react to the news.
"Well.....?" Laura said, motioning for Lex to start talking.
"First of all i don't understand what you mean by that, Adam never died" Lex said as he faked a look of confusion.....which was pretty convincing.
"You where carrying him."
"He fainted"
"There was blood all over him"
"He cut himself while trying to teach me 'the best sword moves' as he called it" Lex casually answered with a smile.
Laura narrowed her eyes at all of Lex's answers they seemed possible, but the way he answered, it was like he rehearsed them all..... probably because he did.
"Fine then last question " Laura said as she had already given up looking for more answers. Once again, everything Lex said was the only explanation to the situation. She was beginning to feel bad that she always thought there was something sinister going on with him. It was their fault for not checking Adam's pulse anyway, they had simply prematurely jumped to conclusions.
"What happened to you guys? I want the full report, how many rank two beasts did you fight and what happened to their corpses?" Laura asked.
"Well...after the rank one's ran past us we saw about 50 rank two beasts behind them. The beasts attacked us, causing Adam and I to use area of effect skills to maybe trim down the numbers. However, during the fight a different lion appeared, it was slightly tall, had full body armor and a black mane. It somehow ordered the rest of the lions to retreat before attacking us. After a rigorous battle and working together, Adam and I managed to make it retreat. Then the idiot fainted because he had used up all his 'Force', and that's when you guys arrived."
Lex took a breath after explaining all that. Adam and himself had decided to tell the truth with a little twist to it to sound as believable as possible.
"Well then why where you acting so weird ?"Linda asked, she wanted to talk to Lex when they were alone but her curiosity took over.
"I almost died in that battle. A part of me thought i would never see you again. I guess seeing you triggered an emotion I didn't even know existed inside me. I think i tried to push you away as to not feel too much pain in case something happens." Lex said.
{Son have you ever tried acting ?} Xen said, the weird part is that he seemed dead serious.
{Wait..aren't my dragon genes the ones which are making me be this good at lying ?} Lex wondered.
{Hell no. We Void Dragons are very proud creatures. We would never resort to lying} Xen said with his chest puffed. Or rather he would have if he had a chest.
"Ohhh please !" A loud voice came and everyone looked at it's origin to find Michael yawning and standing up
"I'm out of here come on Mia let's go" He stated with his hand outstretched towards Mia.
Mia completely ignored Michael and turned towards Jenny instead.
"Hey Jen , you wanna go grab a bite ?. I know this inn that is open 24/7" she said with a smile.
"Sure why not" Jennifer replied as they both walked out together. Leaving Michael with his hand still pointed towards Mia's seat. Apparently he was so embarrassed that it took a his willpower to move.
"Ahem I'm also going to....go " Michael awkwardly announced as he left. Laura and Lex laughed at that sight.
"You and Adam should teach him some tricks he seems to be suffering" Laura laughed.
"If he could be humble enough to ask for help, then sure" Lex joked.
"Laura ?, how long is she going to be like that" Lex asked while looking at Linda. She seemed to be in a trance as she stared at Lex with stars in her eyes. She was not even blinking, Lex moved to the left and then to the right, and Linda also moved her head, following him.
"Oh don't worry she'll be fine" Laura giggled while heading for the door. "See you tomorrow I'm quite tired"
{I think i broke her} Lex said while snapping his fingers in front of Linda's eyes only to receive no reaction at all.
{It seems you took after me my son. I was also a lady killer back then} Xen laughed.
"Did you really mean that ? " Linda suddenly said. Startling Lex as he was still watching her.
"Yes I definitely did " Lex confidently answered because it was the truth. Back before his father came to his rescue he really thought he was going to die and Linda did cross his mind.
"So do you love me ?" she asked, taking Lex by surprise.
"Can I please not answer that ?" Lex replied and Linda just smiled and went in for a hug.
