When the big black cat heard his voice, she jumped on him, which took his breath away as she landed on his stomach. Lex smiled as he started stroking Midnight, who was much bigger, and after a while, he spoke. ''Can you return to your smaller size, girl?''
Midnight nodded before a glow washed over her body, changing her back to the small cat he knew. Lex grabbed her and started pampering her while thanking her.
Silika didn't know what happened, so they looked around the room to see three dead men lying on the floor. Puddles of blood leaked all over the place.
She got up and asked in a confused voice. ''What happened here?''
Lex stopped pampering the little cat before answering while scratching his head. ''People tried to attack us while we slept. I suspect it was the older Runner from last night. But they're dead now.''
