"Sometimes, the happiest among us are those who carry the most pain. The human heart is resilient, capable of withstanding immense suffering, while our eyes can be deceptive, revealing only what we want others to see," Kabir consoled Zaya as she began to cry.
"But she could've told someone. Anyone! Even if she couldn't have told us, she could've confided in a professional and gotten help. There were so many ways she could've reached out. She shouldn't have—" Zaya struggled to say more, reliving the painful memory, her face streaked with tears, her voice shaking.
"I know it's hard. I'm sorry you're going through this," Kabir said, pulling her into a comforting hug. "But you're not alone. I'll always be by your side."
Kabir's heart broke as he watched Zaya sob, feeling as though he had lost a loved one himself. He could feel her pain, and it hurt him deeply.
