With a groan, Kabir released her, and Zaya made her way to his bed. She sat down and pulled the sheets over herself. Kabir turned up the air conditioning slightly before joining Zaya on the bed.
Facing each other with their heads resting on their hands, Kabir initiated the conversation.
"So, tell me more about yourself, Zaya," Kabir began.
Zaya chuckled softly, tilting her head up slightly before bringing it back down and responding, "Why does this feel like a job interview?"
"Maybe it is, maybe it isn't. Who knows? Just tell me about you," Kabir replied.
"Alright," Zaya said with a smile before starting. "My name is Zaya Mars, and for starters, I'm your wife," she added with a broad grin.
Kabir couldn't help but grin even more, knowing deep down that it would be challenging to focus on what she was saying because he was captivated by her beauty. He hadn't taken the time to appreciate it earlier due to the hate he once harbored for her.
