"Time for the first dance," Adam said, his voice steely as he stood in front of Althea and Kathryn. "Let's go."
Althea hesitated, the words she'd heard still ringing in her ears. "Can I have a minute? I'll meet you there. Go on without me."
Adam's expression was unreadable. "Sure," he said, his voice cold. "Take your time." With that, he turned and walked away.
Kathryn looked at Althea, concern written all over her face. "What was that?" she asked.
Althea shook her head, her thoughts racing. "What was what?" She asked, a puzzled expression on her face.
"Nevermind, don't worry about it," Kathryn said, trying to brush it off. "You should head inside. You don't want to keep your... your husband waiting," she added with a smirk.
Althea rolled her eyes, but then paused.
"Never mind," Kathryn tried to wave it off. "I think it's best if you head inside. You don't want to keep your husband waiting." She teased as she stood up.
