As Emily lay in the hospital bed, lost in thought, the door creaked open and a familiar face appeared. "Lucy!" she whispered, her eyes widening in surprise.
Lucy's eyes lit up, and she rushed to Emily's side. "Oh my goodness, Emily! I had no idea you were the patient I was assigned to care for!"
Emily's weak voice barely above a whisper, "This is where you work?"
Lucy nodded, "Yes, I told you I've been working here for a few months now. How are you feeling?"
Emily struggled to respond, "Not great..."
Lucy's expression turned sympathetic. "Don't worry, you'll be okay. Have you eaten anything?"
Emily shook her head, and Lucy quickly helped her sit up, bringing the tray of bread and tea within reach. "You need to eat something," Lucy encouraged, helping Emily take a few bites.
Just then, Robert's driver arrived with a fresh delivery of food, which Lucy gratefully accepted before sending him on his way.
