The scene before the party was devastating, as they witnessed the aftermath of a battlefield that had been conquered. A red mist engulfed the land and buildings, giving the impression of being trapped in a time loop.
"We have to move quickly and find Martha," the captain exclaimed in a panic. They were uncertain of the remaining time until the conqueror inherited the legacy.
When a legacy battlefield is conquered, a unique phenomenon occurs. A dense fog of essence emerges, enveloping the entire battlefield. This mist possesses a distinctive colour, which symbolizes both the inherent nature and rank of the legacy battlefield.
As the mist spreads across the conquered terrain, it initiates a process of transformation. The battlefield, once filled with remnants of past conflicts, starts to disintegrate in particles under the influence of the mist. The energy that once fueled the battles is released, returning to its original form.
The mist serves as a catalyst, accelerating the dissolution of the battlefield. It aids in breaking down the physical structures and erasing any traces of past conflicts. Through this process, the legacy of the battlefield is preserved within the mist.
When someone successfully conquers a legacy battlefield, they become the inheritor of its legacy. As they claim victory, they also inherit the responsibility of safeguarding the knowledge and power contained within the battlefield. In a mesmerizing spectacle, as the conqueror embraces their newfound inheritance, the island that housed the legacy battlefield vanishes into the mist.
Becoming vigilant, they observed the subtle changes in the environment and hurried toward the centre of the island. Joseph accompanied the captain, while Rossa went in a different direction with NARO. Alen, on the other hand, runs independently towards the red mist.
His speed blurred his figure as he sliced through the gentle wind. In the distance, he spotted a peculiar figure—a red-haired boy clad in princely attire. In his hand, he held the figurine of a woman, whose clothes were tattered and blood dripped from her mouth and nose. Her black skin indicated she was suffering from a curse. He was running from the fog
Alen swiftly blocked the boy's path, placing both hands in front of him. "Hey, stop! Can you..."
But before Alen could finish his sentence, the red-haired figure yelled, blasting a fireball towards him. "Stay the fuck away from my path!"
" Prince Gustin Ryonart, fire-born," Alen proclaimed. "Please listen to me..."
Alen made another attempt to speak.
"Stay away, you!" Gustin scream
With determination, Alen forcefully blocked the boy's way and threw a bottle towards him. "Listen. This is a higher-ranked healing potion. It will suppress the curse symptoms and temporarily delay its spread."
Gustin caught the bottle and inspected it, confirming it was indeed a healing potion. He quickly emptied it into Cara's mouth, causing the black mark on her to stop spreading and returning her to a semblance of normality.
Turning towards Alen, the prince asked, "Ask quickly. The island is going to disappear."
Understanding the urgency, Alen swiftly described Martha's appearance. "Have you seen a silver-haired girl, between 21 and 23 years old? She has a slim figure and emits a childish aura."
"Yes, she is by the Onver," Gustin replied.
Apologizing for his confusion, Alen sought clarification. "Forgive me, but what is Onver?"
"Just go in that direction and be careful," Gustin instructed.
With that, Gustin grabbed Cara and sprinted towards the periphery of the island. Alen, too, began his race, heading in the direction Gustin had indicated.
His figure flickered, a testament to his speed, as he focused on the word Gustin had mentioned — Onver.
As he hurried through the island, his attention was momentarily diverted by the urgent situation at hand. However, in a sudden moment of clarity, it popped into his mind—he had seen those words written on the wall inside the cave at the entrance.
"Onver's Museums," he unconsciously uttered the words he had read. A deep sense of unease enveloped him, like a warning from his inner self, triggered by the memories of their previous encounter with the cave and the unsettling discoveries within.
With his determination fueled, he increased his speed and suddenly felt as if he had collided with an invisible barrier, halting his progress down the path.
And there it was, right before him.
Martha's ethereal figure floated in mid-air. Her eyes shed tears of blood occasionally trickling down her cheeks. Her nose seemed to transform into a source of blood, gushing out like a pressurized beam. Her pale and bloodless figure, the swirling mana around her generated an eerie scene. The once invisible mana was now visible, enveloping Martha's body. Clenching her head as if suffering from a splitting headache, purple foam escaped her lips, a sign of her distress.
Driven by instinct, Alen moved toward her, every step fueled by his unwavering determination.
Finally, his gaze landed on the man standing beside Martha. His red predatory eyes stared at Martha's figure, revealing conflicting emotions. His black hair fluttered in the wind, and he wore an illuminated mask, a barrier of pure blue.
He donned a cloth outfit that Alen never expected to see on this planet—a black blazer, red shirt, and black pants—this man stood as the rightful owner of the cave, the one Gustin had mentioned.
Onver.
Alen leapt towards him, calling forth his transparent sword made of mana. "You're gonna regret it!"
Onver snap his finger,
As the ground trembled beneath Onver's power, it was as if the very earth itself responded to his command. From within the soil, bony hands emerged, reaching and grasping, their skeletal forms joining together. With every merge, a spark of purple lightning crackled through the air, infusing the merging figures with an otherworldly energy.
The process continued, the skeletal hands combining and intertwining like a macabre dance, forming a giant serpent-like creature. Its immense size towered over Onver, its long, sinuous body covered in bones and wisps of darkness. The purple lighting that had sparked and crackled throughout its formation now coursed through the creature's veins, lending an eerie glow to its undead form.
Alen remembered he had seen this snake when he first entered the island he had seen this snake marching higher up in the sky and then traveling back to the ground generating a boom.
That time their ship was attacked by an octopus and zombie and a variable of undeamacian resulting in the kidnapping of Martha Because of that she is in this condition.
