Chapter 13 - Volume 1 - Chapter 13: Ability Creation

He was thrilled, knowing that with just a little level advancement, he would gain the ability to suppress the Constellation a bit, even if only slightly. All he had to do was level up.

Excited by the joy and interest of spell creation, Aaron immediately stood up and stepped out of the Tower. The people around him saw his smiling face and couldn't say anything, for it meant that he had achieved something great in their eyes.

As Aaron passed the boundary of the tower, he began speaking aloud:

"Creation, low-level Dark Frost Magic: Dark Frost Flower." After uttering these words, the surrounding area started to cool down and freeze. The people inside the Tower couldn't believe their eyes. This young man, who had astonished them multiple times today, had once again shaken them, for before their eyes... was a flower, pitch-black and gloomy.

Tears of joy welled up in Aaron's eyes because the notification in front of him indicated his success:

"Low-level Ice Magic: Black Ice Flower (Passive/Active) has been created."

This ability belonged to one of his former teammates in his past life, or rather, it would be more accurate to say that he was a member of that family there. Whenever he used this ability, there would be nothing of low-level left unfrozen in the area. The ability was so overwhelming that even Aaron, at his strongest, couldn't break through its highest level.

Furthermore, this ability created an invisible thin layer of ice on the body, providing defense. The reason why this family member, whom Aaron had assigned as an assassin, rarely engaged in direct combat was precisely because he had an almost unbreakable defense.

Aaron's smile didn't fade from his face. After taking his eyes off the notification, he looked around and noticed that everything outside the boundaries of the Tower was engulfed in darkness and cold. Of course, the magical ability was still at a "low" level and quite weak, but it had definitely made him about 5% stronger than his current state. The ability was only at the F level, but it was incredibly powerful, depending on the mana value of the person using it.

"Sir... You have obtained something good. Congratulations," said one of the soldiers in a gentle voice.

"Good? Is it good!? This thing... It's marvelous!" Aaron exclaimed with a smiling face. The people around him were also smiling with him, as his beaming expression even amidst such chaos had brought them joy.

"I can't believe it. The mere existence of such a thing exposes a loophole in this system. If such magic exists, it means I could even resurrect the dead," Aaron thought. This was the beginning of his reality.

Aaron entered the Tower and immediately opened the marketplace. Then, he browsed through the alchemical materials and, after about a minute, found what he was looking for.

"Inferno Orb," he said aloud. The Inferno Orb could be considered a powerful weapon; it created a long-lasting burning flame. It was mainly used to kill Enry Serpents and was an expensive flame that ranked in the top 10 of world fires.

The reason Aaron acquired it was clear. He would use this low-level ability to test his defense system. It was quite dangerous since he had no "flame" defense ability, neither passively nor actively.

He quickly exited the tower and waited for the duration of his ability to expire. After approximately 8 minutes of waiting, he used the ability again:

"Black Ice Flower," he pronounced aloud, and as soon as he spoke the words, the surrounding area began to cool, darken, and freeze. Then, Aaron swiftly stepped out of the area and threw the "Inferno Orb" in his hand.

The frozen and darkened area suddenly ignited, as the flames rose up to the first floor of a building, rapidly growing. But it didn't matter to Aaron; the only thing that mattered was how durable his ability was. The result didn't surprise him. The ice at the spot where he had thrown the Inferno Orb was melting but not disappearing. This ice would last for about 30 seconds, enduring the flames. This ability was only at the F level.

"At last, I have obtained what I needed," Aaron said.

"What is it, sir?" one of the soldiers asked.

"It's the ticket that can annihilate the monsters in this cursed place," Aaron replied. The soldiers were naturally surprised, as most of them had ventured outside. They were aware of how powerful the monsters in this place were. Some of them had encountered the monsters and suffered heavy losses. It was understandable because the "High Orc" and "Low-Level High Ghost" were excessively formidable creatures for individuals at this level.

Meanwhile, there was a reason behind Aaron's elation. It was because the abilities of the "Low-Level High Ghost" were flame-based, and he had obtained a defense against them. He already knew how powerful this ability was, but unfortunately, he didn't know its low-level version. That's why he had incurred a loss of 40,000 gold coins to obtain the "Inferno Orb" for the experiment.

"A ticket?" the middle-aged woman whom Aaron had helped before asked.

"Yes. We can consider this ability as the weakness of one of the monsters here. That monster uses flames, and I'm confident that this ability can cause it harm," Aaron explained.

"Uh... I see," the middle-aged woman added, still astonished.

"It will take a few hours, just a few hours to prepare, and I'm confident that I can defeat them."

"Well... may I ask, young sir, what level are you?" one of the soldiers respectfully inquired.

"Level 50."

"Level 50!?" the soldier and the others exclaimed in disbelief.

"Yes, I've hunted a considerable number of monsters, and there were also experience points from the boss monsters," Aaron explained.

"I understand..." the soldier muttered to himself. And so, Aaron reentered the boundaries of the Tower and began to prepare.

His preparations were simple. He decided to spend a bit more and purchase another item, the 'Ice Accumulator,' which was the opposite of the 'Flame Accumulator.' Then, he sharpened his sword and other tools to make them more effective.

This was his own choice, and his decision remained the same. Taking on something alone was undoubtedly scary and dangerous, but it was also the safest option because he didn't want to harm his friends, family, or anyone else. At least not while they were nearby.

After getting ready, Aaron looked at the soldiers and spoke, "I hope you will assist the people here." All the soldiers turned to him, and one of them responded, "Of course, young sir. But aren't you planning to return?" He asked with skepticism.

"I will return, but I don't know when. It would be suicide to fight against those creatures with my current level. I need to become stronger."

"Understood, you don't have to worry about this place. We will hunt regularly and make it safe. " The respectful soldier replied with seriousness. By saying "this place," he referred to the people, and the fact that everyone was capable enough to protect "this place" made Aaron proud. This level of dedication didn't surprise him, but rather made him happy. Knowing that there were still so many genuinely kind-hearted people in the world brought him joy.

Aaron had left the boundaries of the Tower and quickly climbed to the top of a building. There was always a reason for him to do this: to gain the advantage of height.

Many monsters couldn't fly and weren't as fast or agile enough to climb. This meant that the advantage of height was crucial for survival. Aaron knew that there were many monsters lurking outside, but these lairs would gradually be cleared and turned into dungeons, which would increase the level of security, even if only to some extent.

Aaron, using the Eyes of the God, began observing his surroundings, wanting to see if the Orcs or the Ghost had been involved in anything yet. He succeeded and noticed that the traces of Orc attacks had decreased, but those of the Ghost had increased.

Since it was early in the morning, he could roam and hunt with less caution because during this time, the Ghost's attacking power would significantly decrease. If the Ghost were to attack Aaron, he could easily defend himself. Unfortunately, the Ghost was not that foolish.

Aaron had been hunting for a while and finally came across a den. However, this hunt only granted him half a level as he had only been hunting Lork Wolves, creatures that he could effortlessly slay a hundred of in his current state.

The found den was a new one, and Aaron quickly scanned its surroundings. He noticed a certain fluid that protected the den, and after a brief moment of contemplation, he realized it was the sweat of Abyss Bears.

This fluid was used in various branches of alchemy and had a strong, pungent odor. Due to his sensitive nose, Aaron had to cover it. Despite his reluctance, he had to enter the den, as his sensitive nose was already causing him trouble.

However, he knew one thing: these bears were intelligent enough to detect any traps and could even set traps of their own using their racial advantages.

Aware of this, Aaron understood that any action on his part would put him at greater risk. He drew his sword from its sheath, took a step forward, and entered the den. This marked the beginning of his current hunt.
