Chereads / ???-Class God Hunter / Chapter 15 - Volume 1 - Chapter 15: Fallen Angel

Chapter 15 - Volume 1 - Chapter 15: Fallen Angel

Aaron stood in the room where the bears were found and planned to go through the middle door. Before that, he thought it would be a good idea to open the system profile window and check his level. Indeed, he had gained a total of 4 levels from all these events. Every 25 levels, the difficulty of leveling up increased by one level, which explained why he received so few experience points from such powerful monsters.

After distributing the 20 points gained from leveling up, Aaron stood up again and this time he stood in front of the room in the middle. He took a breath and exhaled, indicating his focus. Despite his strength, he was not a god and could still die. Now was not the time to mix those thoughts.

-----

-----

Upon entering the room, he saw a black-haired man with red eyes sitting behind the walls. The man was playing with a bright red liquid ball in his hand. He had elongated canine teeth, a fit body, and a charismatic aura. He was a vampire.

Aaron tried to remember the last time he saw a vampire, probably when he was 75 years old. He had slain many vampires back then. He even had the chance and honor to kill a Purebred High Vampire once, which was a quite difficult accomplishment.

Vampires were arrogant, beautiful, yet equally rude creatures. Their arrogance stemmed from their rudeness and their tendency to be "over the top."

They had no known weaknesses, and although a regular vampire could reach up to a maximum of 6 or 7 percent of a true vampire's power, they were not particularly challenging.

"I should rest a bit," Aaron said to himself and took out a blanket from his inventory, spreading it on the ground before sitting down.

It had been a long time since he had rested and enjoyed himself other then the time he slept in the bed. He took out a piece of bread and a bottle of water from his inventory and began to eat his meal.

This meal always evoked a nostalgic feeling in him; in his previous life, whenever their commanders took something from them, he and his fellow soldiers would sit down with a piece of bread and a bottle of water, trying to endure. The Tower of the World didn't sell them any food or drinks. But no matter what, it was enough for them. After all, it was better than being dead.

After finishing his meal, he casually accessed the "God System" ability that he hadn't given much thought to. Above the sponsorship choices, he noticed a catalog named "Visit." When he clicked on the catalog, a new tab opened, and at the top of the tab, he saw the words, "Welcome to the Visit Center, touch the name of the entity you wish to visit."

Realizing that there was only one name he could touch, he clicked on that name, and a massive system notification appeared in front of him:

"A visit request has been sent to Goddess Nyx."

Aaron was quite surprised to see this. He had thought it might be some kind of simulation, and he hadn't really believed that he could actually go. Besides, how could he go while he was still in the dungeon?

About five seconds after sending the request, a much smaller notification appeared in front of him:

"Goddess Nyx has accepted your request."

As he read this notification, darkness enveloped his surroundings, and then a throne began to form, just like the first time he met Nyx. Then a long robe appeared, followed by Nyx herself.

But unlike the previous time, Nyx was not alone this time. There was a man with golden hair standing beside her.

"Welcome, Aaron," Nyx said in her perfect voice.

"Thank you, my lady. I hope you've been well since our last encounter," he replied politely.

"Of course, how could I not be well when I've been watching you? You know that," Nyx said, making a playful remark.

Hearing this, Aaron simply chuckled and looked towards Nyx. Then he said, "I don't think I know the gentleman next to you, my lady."

Of course, he wanted to know more about this man who was looking at him with interest. But he was not disrespectful enough to approach an unknown god. So, his only option was to send a message to Nyx, indicating his desire to be introduced.

"Ah... This is Lucifer, my closest friend," Nyx said, her gaze seemingly ready to tear the man beside her apart.

"Well, what happened, Aaron? Nyx is going to attack me because of you," Lucifer said, speaking with a calm gaze and a perfectly polite tone.

"Pleasure to meet you, Lord Lucifer. It is an honor," Aaron said. He knew who he was and how powerful he was.

There were many discussions and interviews about Lucifer in the world. Some people saw him as the embodiment of arrogance, a demonic being, while others saw him as a simple yet powerful fallen angel. If you ask which one is true, the answer would be both.

Lucifer was both the embodiment of pride and one of the great angels. They say that when God created the archangels, He infused a piece of His own will into both of them, transforming them into immensely powerful beings. However, while one of them used their will as God intended, the other used it in a way that was contrary to God's desires. One stood at the highest point of heaven, while the other fell into the depths of the world, earning the nickname "Fallen Angel."

It was an honor to stand before such a being, for just as Nyx was one of the mightiest in Greek mythology, Lucifer was one of the most powerful in religious mythology.

"I am a fan of Aaron as well, and although I discovered you halfway through your journey, I have been observing you for a long time. It's a pleasure to meet you," said Lucifer, maintaining his politeness.

"Well... the concept of being observed still feels quite strange to me... but thank you?" Aaron replied with a perplexed expression.

"I'm aware that it's strange, but everything in this realm is boring after all, so...," Lucifer was interrupted by Nyx, who interjected:

"So, what wind blew you here, my child?" Nyx asked.

"Huh? NYX!?" Lucifer exclaimed angrily.

"What's the matter? Perhaps you invaded my home hoping he would come and now you're not allowing me to talk to him!" Nyx responded, starting to get annoyed.

"Well, is it possible to remain calm?" Aaron said, looking at both of them as if they were children.

"Tell him, Aaron. She's a big spoilsport," Lucifer said, pointing at Nyx with furrowed brows. But Nyx didn't respond and turned back to Aaron, saying:

"My question won't be answered, my child? Is something important going on?"

"No, my dear lady. I was pondering over my abilities and I sent a request to you. Please forgive my rudeness," Aaron said, bowing his head.

Nyx seemed greatly disappointed. Even though she had accepted his request, they hadn't witnessed what Aaron had done while talking to Lucifer, and Nyx assumed that Aaron had come here of his own accord.

"It's alright, at least we have spoken. So, do you have a problem?" Nyx added, setting aside their disappointment.

"Well... actually, I do, my lady," Aaron responded. Upon hearing this, Nyx was about to speak, but then Lucifer interjected, asking, "What is it?"

Nyx's eyebrows furrowed, their eyes filled with a gloomy expression as they stared intently at Lucifer, and then they uttered, "You are truly childish," adding to hear Aaron's response. On the other side, Lucifer had a satisfied expression on his face.

"Vampires... Although I have killed thousands of them in my past life, I have only managed to kill them with sheer power, so I have no idea about their weak points, if they have any. After all, he is a vampire, and I am much weaker than before. I have no intention of dying," he added.

"Hmmm, I think vampires' weak point lies in angering them, my child. Look at the one next to me, the embodiment of arrogance – he practically wants to wage war when provoked, and his mind... well, it's somewhat... fading, i mean it is same for almost all of the monsters." Nyx said with a smile on their face.

"You're being rude!" Lucifer shouted, appearing offended. "But you're not wrong; vampires' weak points are themselves," he added.

"Really? Is it that simple?" Aaron asked, his face expressing disbelief at how easy the answer seemed.

"Yes," Nyx said with a slight chuckle.

"I understand. Thank you very much," Aaron said and suddenly leaped into the air from where he was sitting. Then, with a puzzled expression, he asked, "Do you know how to exit from here?"

Upon hearing this question, Lucifer let out a small laugh and said, "Just imagine yourself leaving," and continued to laugh.

Aaron smiled at Lucifer and joined in his laughter. It seemed that entertaining a god like this pleased him as well.

"Lord Lucifer, I was planning to choose you as my fourth sponsor, but I think I will choose you before Mr. Hades. I hope you'll gift me a weapon," he said and thought of "exit" in his mind as he departed from the darkness.

Of course, he had no idea about the astonished expressions on Nyx and Lucifer's faces.

When the darkness around him dissipated, Aaron was standing upright and stretching his body. Soon, he planned to surprise the vampire with an attack and weaken him a little.

Carefully and silently, he entered the room. The vampire appeared in his sight again, sitting down. This was good for him because it meant he could make a sneaky attack.

Without making a sound, Aaron drew his short dagger and activated his ability, "Transference," then with his increased speed, he made a swift move toward the vampire. Suddenly, he appeared behind the vampire out of nowhere and stabbed his dagger into the vampire's back. The blade plunged into the vampire's spine.

"KYAAAAK!!" a scream suddenly echoed through the room. The vampire writhed in agony, but he had managed to redirect the impact of Aaron's strike away from his body and had moved toward the back of the room. His body quickly healed, and his eyes were filled with anger as he stared at the young man before him.

"You must not have enjoyed that," Aaron said with a taunting tone.

"YOU BASTARD!" the vampire hissed.

"Oh, come on. You can't be weak enough to hiss, can you?" Aaron said with a laugh. He was trying to provoke and anger the vampire, hoping to catch him off guard and exploit his weakness.

There were 45 seconds left until his Transference ability reset, and this time Aaron planned to target the vampire's heart or head instead of foolishly aiming for his body.

"You despicable lowblood! How dare you attack a divine representative like me," the vampire said angrily and used one of his abilities. Suddenly, the area seemed filled with blood, as if an invisible "Small Blood Field" had been activated. This was a semi-powerful hereditary ability that certain vampires possessed, which could enhance their healing and regeneration capabilities to a certain extent. Only pureblood vampires could utilize this ability to its full potential, and Aaron was amazed by it. After all, it

"Being a deputy of a god? It's truly sad to hear such things from a worthless piece of trash like you. You are far too weak to be a representative of your own god," said Aaron, and then activated his own domain.

The vampire was surprised. His own blood domain was suppressed, and darkness filled the room. The vampire realized at that moment that the young man in front of him was powerful.

No matter how strong the vampire's domain was, he was not a pureblood vampire, so he did not possess the powerful abilities of Nyx to suppress or erase his own darkness. While the vampire used a blood-related magic, Aaron was using the attribute of a goddess. Suppressing such an ability required great skill.

"What is this? What kind of trickery is this?" exclaimed the vampire.

"Trickery? You're just too weak. Accusing someone stronger than you of using tricks. How pitiful..." replied Aaron with a mocking tone, and then he immediately used his reset cooldown ability, Transference, and made a final move towards the vampire.

When the vampire noticed that the young man had disappeared, he quickly assumed a defensive position, but it was futile. Aaron's speed, combined with Transference and the aura of the goddess, had already surpassed the 400 threshold. At the moment, only a few beings could stop such speed, like a mini-boss monster or a Constellation Team.

"NO!" screamed the vampire, but it was already too late. He was already a dungeon monster, and his death was inevitable, but being killed by a child by a young man was unimaginable.

"CRACK" came a sound, the sound of bones breaking and severing. The vampire's head separated from his body and fell to the ground, while his body remained standing. In an instant, the vampire's body and remnants disappeared, and a system notification appeared:

"Low-Level Pureblood Vampire, Level 45, slain. Obtained low-level artifact 'Heart's Power.'

You have passed 3 levels."

After reading the notification, Aaron sat down on the ground and smiled. Not only did he gain experience points from the vampire, but he also obtained an artifact. Considering the high prices of artifacts in Tower markets, this was a great achievement.

He immediately allocated the stat points he gained from jumping 3 levels into his magic defense attribute and then prepared to leave the room and enter the final one.
