Daisy began to think about Kevin's words about how being too kind would make you a victim in the end.
This is true for her grandfather. He only wanted the best for his son and didn't want him to stray down the wrong path. This is the reason his own son killed him.
Her grandfather didn't deserve to be brutally murdered.
She also recalled how she had rescued Lucy from bullies, only for her kindness to be repaid with betrayal. Kindness doesn't really have a place in this world.
Ring... Ring...
Daisy woke up to the sound of her mobile ringing. She didn't know when she had fallen asleep, but it was already morning.
She opened her bag and searched for her mobile.
The person who called her was Lucy. She was angry just thinking about the name. Daisy wanted to ask why Lucy had done this to her. She had always helped Lucy since childhood. She had always shared her burdens with her, thinking she was the closest person to her in the entire world.
But for now, she didn't want to talk to her.
The truth behind her grandfather's death was too much for her to process.
Ring... Ring...
The mobile started to ring again.
She simply wanted to ignore it, as she really didn't want to speak with Lucy or her family.
The caller wasn't Lucy or her family, though. She felt relieved when she saw it was her grandfather's friend, someone she was close to.
"Hello."
-In Gilbert House-
"Did that bi*ch respond to you?" Daisy's brother Michael asked the girl in front of him.
"No. She isn't answering my call. She never does this. She always answers my call," Lucy replied to his question.
"Where did this bi*ch go? Can't she be a little more useful? I always have to do all the work. Today I need to go to my friend's party. I don't have any time to do the work," Michael complained.
"Maybe she is still with Mr. Philip," Lucy replied. She knew that Mr. Philip had taken her somewhere yesterday.
Michael started to feel angry hearing this. His sister gets to enjoy it while he has to cancel the party he wants to attend and has to work.
He can't help but curse mentally at how lucky his lowly sister is.
-Somewhere else-
A 25-year-old young man in a black suit gazed through the window of the top floor of the skyscraper. He was admiring the unobstructed views of the city.
He never knew the city he had always lived in could be this beautiful.
Kevin said, "I never knew that the view of Calton could be this beautiful."
Mr. Harry replied, "Just wait until nighttime. The view of Calton, all lit up with colorful lights, is even more beautiful."
Kevin was captivated by the city view in front of him. He had been working hard these days, learning about the businesses he owned from Mr. Harry. It felt good to relax and enjoy the view after a long day of hard work.
"Kevin, I've arranged the meeting you requested at the Grandiose Hotel," Mr. Harry told Kevin while he was still enjoying the view.
"Thank you, Mr. Harry. Don't worry, I can handle it on my own," Kevin assured him.
"Kevin, I have to visit someone, so I need to leave now. We'll meet tomorrow. And don't forget the card I gave you, or else you won't be able to access this floor," Mr. Harry said to Kevin.
"Sure, Mr. Harry. Let's meet tomorrow," Kevin replied with a soft smile.
After Mr. Harry left, Kevin stayed in the room and looked at the view. He checked the clock on the wall.
2 o'clock.
As a former regular worker used to working long shifts, he didn't feel it was right to rest when he could be productive.
So he asked Mr. Harry if there was anything he could do, as he didn't want to take a break.
Mr. Harry arranged a meeting with some people at Hotel Grandiose. Kevin remembered this hotel because he had been there before. It belonged to him.
Kevin took the lift and exited the building. He started driving towards Hotel Grandiose.
