Chapter 24 - Meeting Jenny again

A beautiful woman in her early twenties entered the room.

"I am so sorry, I was busy with work," the woman replied.

How could he forget this voice? He once wished to hear it every day. But he was relieved that this person was no longer part of his life. His first love and ex left him because he was poor and not good enough for her. Jenny.

After Ricky broke up with her, Jenny's life changed. She had to give up on her dream of becoming a model. With Emma's help, she managed to find a job.

The reason she wanted to attend the reunion was because she remembered that there were many rich second-generation kids in her class. She was so foolish to not care about them and instead focused on her career.

If back then she had dated one of them, things would have been different. She wouldn't have met Kevin again after school, wouldn't have fallen in love with him, and maybe she would have become a famous model.

She doesn't want to end up like Hazel, the beautiful girl in the class who chooses to be with a poor guy.

"Kevin!" Jenny was surprised to see Kevin casually sipping on his drink.

Jenny was angry to see him again. He was the reason for her bad luck. She could have been Ricky's fiancée if Kevin hadn't manipulated him.

"What are you doing here?" Jenny questioned.

"I'm here for the same reason you are. Did you forget that we studied at the same school?" Kevin asked her.

"I thought you wouldn't have time to come to the reunion." Jenny remembered that Kevin used to stay late at his previous job. She knew he had lost his job. It isn't easy to find a good job. That's why she thought he wouldn't come to the reunion.

"When are you going to pay the money you owe me, Jenny?" Kevin asked.

"Why should I give you money after what you've done to me?" Jenny asked.

Kevin enjoyed this little show very much. The people in the room were shocked and didn't know what had happened between them.

"You couldn't find a job after you got fired? Maybe that's why you came to this reunion to get some free food. You don't like going to events like this," Jenny continued to mock him.

Jenny was still angry about what Kevin had done to her.

"Kevin was the one paying for everything, Jenny. He didn't come here for free food." Hazel spoke up for Kevin.

"Do you think anyone here believes your words, Hazel? Do you expect me to believe that this guy can afford to pay for everything?" Jenny asked Hazel.

Everyone in the room is nervous. Just moments ago, they were doing the same thing Jenny was doing.

Jenny looked at others to support her, but everyone looked at her wide-eyed. Jenny ignored them and pressed on because she had been with Kevin for two years. She knew him well.

"Do you want me to believe that this pathetic loser can pay the bill? I don't think you're even qualified to be in this hotel," Jenny continued to insult Kevin.

"Jenny, Kevin was about to pay the bill."

"Yeah, we don't know what happened between you, but we don't believe he was lying when he said he would pay the bill."

"And you're so rude for calling him a pathetic loser. We're all friends reuniting after a long time, you can't mock our friend whom we haven't seen in ages."

The people tried to defend Kevin. These were the same people who had mocked Kevin just moments ago.

"What are you guys saying? You do know about him, right? Why do you believe he can pay the bill?" Jenny questioned the others.

"Jenny, can't you just stay quiet? If Kevin gets angry, he might not pay the bill anymore. This hotel is expensive. I don't think anyone else can afford it," someone whispered.

"Hahaha. If Kevin can pay, then anyone here can pay." She started to laugh.

"Okay, then why don't you pay the bill, Jenny? Don't tell me you are poor than a poor bastard like me," Kevin said.

"If you can pay, then I can pay too," Jenny asked for the bill.

When she checked the bill, she was shocked.

"1-1 M-million world coins?" Jenny was too stunned to look at the amount on the bill.

"Yeah, just a million world coins. It shouldn't be too much for you, right?" Kevin said.

Kevin would never pay for people who made fun of him. He might have money, but why would he waste it on people who mocked him?

"B-but I don't believe that you can pay for it either," Jenny said.

"I don't have to pay for it, Jenny. This 'poor bastard' is the owner of this hotel. Thanks for paying for the meal," Kevin left the room.
