To her surprise, the tight grip around her neck suddenly loosened, and Eveloria found herself plummeting through the air. A gasp of relief filled her lungs, and she took a moment to regain her composure. The sensation of falling, however, was disorienting, and a shriek escaped her as the creature let out its own cry of dismay.
For a fleeting moment, panic and dizziness overwhelmed her. Then, in the blink of an eye, strong arms encircled her, and she landed safely in a familiar embrace. Eveloria's eyes darted frantically in search of her rescuer as she battled waves of nausea, struggling to calm her breathing. She couldn't decide which sensation was worse - the panic or the dizziness.
Suddenly, she found herself gazing into the concerned eyes of her savior. A soft smile played on his lips as he urgently inquired, "Are you okay? Are you hurt?" His words rushed out.
