Azier's heart felt like it pounded as he kept Evy close to the heat he produced from his chest. His soul shattered when Azrianna did not come back up to the surface the more his eyes searched for her. Tears threatened to squeeze from between his eyelids, and honestly - he felt like he could have vomited the entirety of his guts into the sea.
He didn't want to give up on the woman he cherished so greatly - and one he promised to protect.
"A-A-Azier..." Evyra uttered from his side as she curled into him and dug her fingernails into his flesh - which he welcomed, for it helped keep his consciousness up. "Wh-wh...where....is...ev-v-very one?"
What could he say that wouldn't have killed them both from heartache right there in the sky? He couldn't let Evyra fall into despair like he had already done.
"I see everyone else just below us, sweetheart" he lied the best he could as his body continued to surge with adrenaline.
