Heather Scott was mumbling without uttering any meaningful words, because her Officer Blogger was so busy, and they had little time together.
It's been a long time since Betsy Russell and Heather had been out together, but this time, Heather wouldn't let Betsy leave early, no matter what.
Hence, Betsy could only watch as Heather, drunk, stood on the bar table singing "Conquer". It wasn't until after two in the morning when Heather finally conceded her defeat.
When Betsy got home, it was already half past two in the morning. The bar was too noisy, so she had missed six calls from Jared Hughes.
Seeing the missed calls on her phone, Betsy felt a bit guilty. But considering the late hour, instead of calling back, she left a message for Jared on WhatsApp.
No sooner had she sent the message than her phone started ringing.
Betsy looked at the incoming call, paused for a moment before answering, "It's so late, why aren't you asleep yet?"
"You didn't respond to me, I couldn't sleep."
