Jared Hughes listened to Gene Meaden and nodded, seemingly thinking of something. He then called his secretary, curious about what Isa had done.
In just five minutes, secretary Bill Treiber sent him the information about Betsy Russell's car accident, including Isa's voice message instructing the perpetrator to kill Betsy and the transfer records.
Jared's face turned black as ink, and he frowned, asking, "I remember it was a girl named Mia Pedro who hired someone to hit Betsy, right?"
"Yes, Mr. Hughes, there are two versions of the story. One is that Mia Pedro hired someone to hit Betsy, and the other is that Miss Hughes hired someone to drive and hit Betsy."
Listening to Bill's words, Jared then gave a few more instructions before hanging up the phone.
Jared looked puzzled, and he had a feeling that it was more likely that his sister was the one who had hired someone to hit Betsy, otherwise she wouldn't have stopped Betsy from calling the police.
