Chapter 11 - 011 Life Assistant?_1

"Jared Hughes, appearing indifferent in his immaculately tailored suit, strides in through the door. His slender build and frosty nobility drew the gazes of many young girls drinking in the vicinity.

A rather bold girl blocked Jared's path and asked with a smile, "Sir, could we exchange WhatsApp contacts?"

Jared cast a disinterested glance at the girl and walked past her towards a VIP area. As he was about to sit down, he noticed Betsy Russell chatting and laughing with a man from afar.

The Betsy Russell of the past was extremely docile in front of him, reminiscent of a timid rabbit.

But the present Betsy Russell was more like a hedgehog, prickly and defensive, not hesitating to strike back at anyone who dared to provoke her.

When he recognized the slightly familiar face sitting next to Betsy, his gaze sank slightly. Shrouded in a sullen aura, he heads straight for the exit with a gloomy expression on his face.

...

Looking at the student in front of her, Betsy Russell said helplessly, "Alright then, I'll lend you the money…"

Before Betsy Russell could finish her statement, Heather Scott quickly covered her mouth, leaning in to whisper in her ear, "Betsy, this is going to spoil the child. What if he learns to reap without sowing?"

Surprisingly, Betsy Russell found herself agreeing with Heather Scott's point.

Heather Scott turned to Josh Drew with a smile and said, "Our Betsy wants to become a star in the future. You can be her personal assistant. Later, Betsy's manager, Natalie, will show you the ropes."

Josh thanked them gratefully, stood up, bowed seriously to Betsy and Heather, his voice choked with emotion, "Thank you, Miss Russell. Thank you, Miss Scott."

Heather was very satisfied with Josh's attitude. She nodded in approval and said, "Okay, you may leave now. I will send you the address of our hotel later."

After sending Josh off, Heather turned her head to gaze at Betsy Russell, a playful smile dancing in her eyes, "He's not bad, right? His looks are up to your standards too, aren't they?"

Betsy Russell just smiled without saying a word.

Everyone always assumed that she had been attracted to Jared because of his looks, but that was not the case.

She still remembered how, three years ago, she had sprained her ankle during a temple visit and Jared had massaged her foot until she was okay, only leaving her side when she was fine.

However, Jared would probably never remember this incident.

Betsy Russell lost her enthusiasm for staying at the bar and took Heather Scott home. She had to go over the script thoroughly. Though she memorized her lines long ago, acting was not as simple as just reciting lines. It required the nurturing of emotions.

The next day when Betsy woke up and opened the door to her hotel room, she was greeted by Josh bringing breakfast.

"Miss Betsy," Josh smiled at Betsy, his face sporting two deep dimples, glowing radiantly, "Natalie asked me to bring this over."

Betsy frowned slightly and asked, "Don't you have classes today?"

"It's Saturday, no classes today," Josh Jamie replied honestly, still wearing the clean aura of a student, "Natalie and I have arranged it. As long as I don't have classes, I'll be here to take care of Miss Betsy."

Betsy turned and walked back inside, gesturing for Josh to follow.

Josh glanced down at his dirty shoes hesitantly and did not dare to step in.

"Come in!" Betsy looked at Josh with a smile, "The housekeeping auntie will come and clean later."

Josh walked in with the breakfast and closed the door. He placed the breakfast on the desk nearby and stood wondering nearby nervously.

Last night, Heather Scott had sent him a message asking him to get into bed with Betsy as soon as possible.

Josh frowned, feeling conflicted. He was afraid that doing this might upset Betsy, but if he didn't, Heather was sure to blame him...

"Did you have breakfast?" Betsy Russell asked as she unpacked their breakfast. She glanced at Josh, who stuttered out a response.

"I, I've eaten." Josh stammered, then immediately lowered his gaze, not daring to look Betsy in the eye.

Betsy didn't think much of it, inviting Josh to sit wherever he liked. She ate her breakfast while checking her phone. After she finished eating, she noticed that Josh appeared troubled.

"How is your mother's illness?" Betsy, assuming that Josh was worried about his mother's health condition, asked compassionately.

"The doctor said we can do the surgery in a month," Josh quickly dismissed his unrealistic thoughts and quickly relayed the information.

Betsy looked at Josh unblinkingly, smiled, and said, "I've thought it over last night. As a current student, it's not suitable for you to be my assistant. But I can lend you the money you need now, and when you graduate, you can come to work for me. Natalie will draft the contract later. What do you think?"

Josh thought Betsy was rejecting him because of his young age. He knew from yesterday that Heather Scott didn't really want him to be a real assistant, but rather, to be Betsy's male companion.
