"Amaya, blow off the candle when you sleep. We don't want to burn our house at night." Amara told her daughter before going back to their room. Amaya knew that his brother would be sneaking out this night and so she stayed awake. She blew out the candles and waited for his brother to go out. The night is bright as the moon shines, a white moon.
"There he goes," Amaya whispers to herself as she sees the silhouette of his brother sneaking out. She followed her brother and arrived at an abandoned house. What would her brother do in this place?
The place is dim and only a little light from the moon penetrates the building. She hid behind a big jar and watched what his brother would do. As the moon lights the surrounding, she sees a wretched creature eating a dog. She was about to vomit but she kept herself calm and continued to watch. She cannot believe her eyes that her brother can cast magic and is battling with the creature. She ran somewhere far when she saw the tongue of the aswang approaching the jar. She was shocked when the jar broke. She's lucky she wasn't noticed.
When her brother is about to be defeated, she is ready to throw herself and save her brother. However, a cold wind suddenly is in the air and bright particles of water are gathering around and turning into ice. This water is shaped like a spear which is so sharp and pierces the aswang.
She cannot utter a word as she is speechless at the degree of power. It feels like a god has descended and formed it because there is a feeling of assurance and safety that made her fear gone when it formed. She is ready to run away and go home but the sound of the cracking pieces of jar alerted his brother. She didn't move and was ready to throw some explanations, however, his brother didn't notice her at all. She is standing there facing her brother. Even her words cannot reach him. She was disturbed.
When her brother was walking back home, she also walked back home. On her way, a strange creature blocked her way. It was a tall, dark, and smelly person. When it faced her, it looked the same as the creature his brother fought. It approached her swiftly; raised its hands, ready to kill her.
Out of the blue, a beautiful woman dressed in some beautiful linen with a scarf on her face appears. "be gone, you filthy creature." The woman said and the creature turns into particles like dust yet aesthetically vanishing. It was like sparkling particles of water evaporating in the air. Her jaw dropped when she realized that the goddess helped her. "Be careful on your way dear. My blessing will always be with you."
She feels so happy that her heart is about to explode. Fear vanishes when the goddess appears. She walked slowly into her room and prayed to the goddess and slept.
"She's lovely, isn't she?" The goddess who helped Amaya asked her attendant (a goddess in the Middle Realm). "Yes, she is." The attendant answered.
"But why do you like her?" The attendant asks.
"This child's destiny is related to me. Also, her brother seems to be fancied by some unknown god. I am also checking it out." The goddess said that Amaya's destiny is related to her and she will be finding out the god who fancies Robert. She orders her attendant to keep a close watch on the siblings.
"By the way, what was the meeting about in the Upper Realm?" She asked her attendant. The attendant answered that it is about Bakunawa appearing soon in this realm. This deity creature created a big shock in ancient times killing many gods and even eating the moon. The gods are worried about its appearance. She also mentioned that the gods are looking for Maguayan since she is also a supreme being.
"I'm sure Kaptan can kill that deity but it would be near impossible if that deity will appear in the Middle Realm." The goddess stated. "He cannot directly intervene with the destiny of the Middle Realm. He can choose a warrior to raise who will fight against Bakunawa. Other gods can do that too. Actually, that is what we should do." She added with a fire in her eyes. She also bears hatred for that creature. When it ate the moon in the Middle Realm, it went up to the Upper Realm which caused great calamity.
"Let's go back first." The goddesses vanished like evaporating particles.
The Upper Realm is busy; every god and goddess is trying to look for a warrior who fits their characteristics. These warriors will be blessed by them to receive their power to face Bakunawa. Each of them should only choose one warrior however, they can choose not to if no one fits their criteria.
"Santonilyo, have you found one that fits well on your criteria?" Pahulangkug asked her knowing that she will choose someone who is thankful for all the graces he/she receives. This person must also be graceful like her. The action must be elegant; the way the person dresses and moves must speak elegance and grace. Such criteria would be near impossible to meet.
Santonilyo wanted to ask Pahulangkug about his choice. She knows that anyone can fit his standard. Someone who loves seasons. There are only two seasons: dry season and rainy season. However, since he has a crush on Lalahon, the goddess of fire, volcanoes, and harvest, he included the season of harvest.
"How about you? Do you have someone that piques your interest?" She asked intently. Seeing his face, he probably saw someone who has potential.
There is someone who prays every season to the god. He also does things like enjoying the rain during the rainy season and admiring the sun during the dry season. He is a son of a noble yet, he is a humble person; he treats everyone with respect. He even plants seeds together with his alipin; enjoys their company and laughs with them.
At the time of harvest, he thanks his alipin for working well and taking good care of their crops. He also pays them well. Pahulangkug believes that this person suits him well.
Hiram in the Middle World wonders why the rays of the sun do not burn him. It should hurt his skin since it is already noontime. It feels like he bathes under the warmth of the sun. He thanks the sun god.
Kaptan is also looking for a candidate to bless with his power. Looking at the Middle World, there are a lot of courageous men who do not fear war. He has noticed Dodong before but he does not want to ruin his life. He loves seeing Dodong enjoying the things he loves especially when it comes to development. He knows that Dodong is a transmigrator but he has no plans to choose him.
"Lihangin, look for a possible candidate for me. I will pass you the responsibility of looking for a good warrior for me." Kaptan ordered his son, the god of wind. He is the fastest god among all gods comparable to Kaptan in speed.
"I will. I have already chosen a person so there is no need for me to find one." Lihangin answered.
"That's great."
"How about your mother? Did you find her?" He asked him.
"Not yet father." He answered with an expression that he is doing his best to look for her.
"I understand. Why don't you ask your sister Lidagat? I'm sure she has some ways to find her." Lidagat is also a goddess of the sea. She might have ways to find their mom ordering the sea.
Lihangin answered that he will visit his sister in her palace as he will also go down to the Middle World to meet someone.
"I'll give you a gift and you'll surely love it." Lihangin said as he goes down to the Middle World.
