Chapter 31 - Chapter 30: Divinity V.5

The next morning I readied up immediately to try the spear.

"How strong this Divinity could be," I ran to the guild and got some requests. I noticed the are different now. The requests involved Kobolds and Trolls in the forest.

{Main Mission}

- Kill 500 Kobolds.

- Find and kill 1 Kobold Lord.

- Kill 2,000 Trolls.

I looked around and the adventurers looked pretty buffed up. Their equipments looks like it is for higher levels.

"Do you want to party up with other adventurers who want to go to Grandeur Forest?" The receptionist asked me. She must've noticed I was looking around the lobby and inspecting other people.

"No, I can do this alone."

"You're quite cocky for a newbie," I heard a woman's voice behind me.

"No, I can actually do this..." I turned to her and said it.

"Since I'm a priestess from the Temple of Mikael, you would definitely need me," she said with pride in her voice.

A priestess? Her armor looks like it is heavier than a knight itself but she does hold a staff...

"Party us up, Tory."

"Yes, Bishop Cathleen."

"Wait, I didn't even agree to it."

"I've registered your party, you can now complete quests together."

"Thanks, Tory! What's your name?"

"Ras..." I answered while I looked at her weirdly thinking I was gonna be involved with another person. To be completely honest, I would rather avoid getting attached to other people but it feels like some fate keeps pushing these people to me.

"Well, nice to meet you," she smiled at me as if she was super happy to be with another person again.

"Careful there young man, that woman is vigorous!" A loud barbaric voice can be heard from the opposite side of the lobby. It was then followed by everyone laughing.

"How rude!" Cathleen screamed and then both of them started to bicker.

"I'll be going ahead," I said to her and walked out of the building. I don't think she heard me since she isn't following behind.

"Ah! Wait for me!" I heard Cathleen screaming from the door of the guild running toward me. For a priestess in a large heavy suit of armor, she runs fast.

"We're a party now you know!" She pouted.

I looked at her with cold eyes cause her actions reminded me of Elaina. I turned away and clicked my tongue then proceeded to head to the forest.

...

I don't remember the forest looking this colorful and enchanted before. I was mesmerized at the sight of the forest, it looks more alive than it used to be. There are even animals that look like monsters.

"See! It's your first time going to the forest yet you want to venture into it alone," she nagged at me.

I ignored her and just continued on.

"Let's hunt for some food first," she suggested.

"You do that while I kill the goblins," I pulled out the Divine Spear out of thin air.

"Haha, are you a rich man?" She asked while she looks at my spear with some intent, "Or are you perhaps a bishop in another temple? That spear doesn't look ordinary."

"No, I just arrived here."

I continued to find some enemies. The first I could come across is a ...

{Rare/ Warrior Troll Lv. 30}

The enemies here are really stronger than ever. I threw my spear to the troll and I'm not surprised. It easily pierced through its chest.

{Warrior Troll Lv. 30 defeated! You gained +15,000 exp}

{Congratulations, you leveled up! Lv. 14> Lv. 15}

{You can no longer receive status points. Status points will now be converted to skill points. You have 1 skill point}

I checked out my skill window and checked the skills. The proficiencies of the skills are gone. I put 1 skill point to Snipe. I don't know what it does exactly or how powerful it gets so I just let it be.

"I need a spear skill."

"I have one if you like!" Cathleen shouted behind me making my heart jump.

"Please approach me normally next time..."

"But wow! That was amazing, to think you could one-shot a troll. Spectacular. Amazing!"

"Thanks, so what kind of skill do you have?"

"Hmm, it's not on me right now, but I'll give it to you when we return," she smiled as she turned away and started setting up camp. I don't know what she is up to but I'll take advantage of her in the meantime.

"Since you look like you are strong enough, let's just meet back here when nightfalls, I'll pull my own weight and hunt whatever I can!" That's what she said before running away.

'Hey system, why couldn't I see her status info?'

{The Almighty Creator gifted you Divinity so my influence has been weakened, my functions are now limited.}

'Then, what can you do now?'

{See monster names, levels, and rarity. Inventory, skill window, and title window. I can still analyze equipment but only until Mythic grade.}

"So, because I've gained some overpowered stat, your functions have been limited and outdated?"

{Yes, that is the last gift you could ever have from The Almighty Creator. If he interrupts more to your life, not only the God handling this Earth will come to you, but other Gods from different galaxies and universes will also flock to you to try and get rid of your existence.}

"I see, then I won't be needing you that much now."

{Yes.}

...

I continued hunting Trolls and that is what I've been finding. Only Trolls. It has been hours but I haven't found a single Goblin.

...

Hours passed and all I've been killing so far is Trolls. I'm now level 26 and I maxed the level of {Snipe}. It needs 20 skill points to upgrade its rarity. I decided to let it be for now since I won't be using it anytime soon.

...

It's night-time. I've finished killing 623 trolls and it seems like Cathleen killed 436 Kobolds. I'm now heading back to the camp Cathleen set up and it seems like she is there too since I can see the smoke from a distance. I was shocked at the sight I saw when I reached the camp. It was not Cathleen who was there, but goblins. They were making use of the camp Cathleen set up.

I felt a tap on my shoulder and when I turned it was Cathleen giving me hand signs to keep quiet.

"What do we do?" She whispered.

I looked at her and said," Obviously, we kill them."

I leaped forward hoping that I would land in the middle of the camp but I was short by a little and landed on a goblin. I swung my spear in front of me then Cathleen stood up and suddenly a beam of light came up from the ground the goblins were standing on. It was a swift victory for us.

"Hey! That could've been dangerous!" She shouted at me as she came closer.

"They're dead already stop fussing about it."

"But, still!" I ignored her and moved the bodies near the bushes. I went to meditate while Cathleen cooked dinner. The feeling is familiar but it feels different. The mana flowing through my body felt warm and light, it was relieving.

"I knew it, you can use divine powers." I heard Cathleen's faint voice.

I opened my eyes and looked at her, "What do you mean?"

"What temple do you worship? Your Divinity is purer than mine."

"None..." I can't tell her that it's a gift from another being.

"Privacy huh? Oh well, I will figure it out soon."

"Can you explain this Divinity to me?"

"Oh... So you really don't worship one..."

"I told you so."

"In short, Divinity is like a borrowed power from God... but... how do you have divinity when you don't worship one? Hmmm?" Her curiosity is at its peak I can tell. What do I say to her? I tried to speak but she stopped me before letting out a word.

"Don't force it, I'm a priestess, not an adventurer. It goes against my morals to force information out of someone."

"Whatever, I'm going back to meditating. Have the dinner to yourself."

"Ah, how rude! After all the cooking I made for us to eat!" She pouts and weakly punches me.

I went back to deep meditation to get the feel of this Divinity.

{The priestess of Serpent of Life is now curious about your existence.}
