We immediately ducked and tried to hold on to the chairs until the shaking came to a stop. It was followed by car alarms, people screaming, police and ambulance alarms, gunshots, and some weird shriek. We looked out the classroom window to see what was happening.
"..."
The room was filled with silence and there was clear shock on our faces.
"This is real right?" Tala said with her shaky voice.
Then she started to have panic attacks and that was everyone's wake-up call. We rushed to her side and start to comfort her.
"No, no, no maybe it's just for a movie like you know those fantasy movies we watch"
Antonio continues to deny the situation. Jimmy grabbed some water for Tala, while Freya and Carmela are holding both of her hands. I was still there by the window watching the gruesome fantasy scenery happening outside. I tried to look closer and identified the monsters.
"Goblins? lycanthrope? imps?" Without noticing, I was slowly smiling while watching the series of murders happening.
"You're seriously smiling in this situation? I mean it's great to be positive, BUT PEOPLE ARE DYING OUTSIDE!" Lando shouted at me.
"Nah, I'm just in disbelief that this is actually happening."
Suddenly, a red screen display appeared in front of me out of nowhere. Maybe this is the start of my main character moment.
Everyone else in the room screamed and can't believe what was in front of them.
"ISN'T THIS LIKE THE ONES IN THE GAMES AND ANIME!" Antonio shouted.
Everyone's attention shifted to him, at the same time, Tala have calm down a bit and stood up.
"There's Status info, Skills, Inventory, and shop!" Antonio's gamer instincts were flaring and this made him accept that this is really happening.
"It's also similar to the manhwa and manga I read," I added.
"Antonio, Ras I know you love this stuff but please, this is all too surreal it almost feels like we're dreaming," Freya said in disbelief.
Carmela and Tala looked outside the window and immediately vomited when they saw the gory scene the monsters left behind. That made the others also curious and looked outside, I can tell, the scene that they are looking at right now made their stomachs turn.
"How can you look at this and feel nothing?" Tala asked while looking at me. I just shrugged it off.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAHHHH!"
We all heard a blood-curdling scream outside the classroom. Because of the panic, we forgot we were still not alone in the building. Jimmy and Lando immediately ran out of the classroom to check.
"HEY!" Freya shouted to the two guys who ran out.
"Whatever that was, we better prepare," I said to everyone.
Carmela started breaking the arms of the chairs," Tonio, Tala help me out with this."
Me and Freya looked at each other and we both had the idea of getting our leftover food because it will be important. Then, Antonio handed us the armchair they broke so that we have the means to protect ourselves.
"Shouldn't we check and follow those guys?" Tala asked.
"No, we wait." Freya firmly said with a serious look on her face.
"I'll go and look at the other rooms if there are still other people that didn't leave yet." I ran towards the door and heard Freya scream at me with an irritated expression but I just smiled back. I made sure to lock the door before closing it and told them to only open it if I told them it was safe.
I sneakily walked in the hallway because I don't know what dangers might come. I checked all the rooms and it looks like we're the only one left on this floor. I went back to the room and told them it was safe. Before I manage to close the door, I heard Lando cussing loudly followed by a high pitch snickering. Then the image of Jimmy full of sweat and blood appeared on the stairwell so I held the door open and waited for both of them to come inside. Jimmy went inside first, then Lando appeared climbing the stairs, and behind him was a single goblin.
"What..." I was shocked and confused because the goblin that I know of is smaller than a human, but that thing is almost 6 feet tall, it might as well be an orc at this point. Ah right, we're on the 8th floor, that's why I thought they were small when I was looking at them in the window. I snapped out of it when Freya shouted,
"LANDO, RUN QUICKLY!" As the others try to compose themself trying to be ready to attack. Antonio handed Jimmy an armchair, and when Lando was near the door, I backed away immediately and crouched at the wall.
"I'll aim for its ankles and try to knock it down then you start hitting him!" I shouted back at the group. They all nod in agreement, but I can see they are scared and shaking. While I try to assess myself, for some reason, I'm way too calm in this situation. But never mind that, I saw the goblin enter the room and I swung as hard as I can toward its ankles. It was a success!
Antonio quickly headed over and start hitting its head, then the others followed and start swinging on the goblin. It was gruesome, the repeated attack smashed the goblin's head and broke some of its bones in the body, blue blood splattered everywhere and some parts of the head are scattered on the floor.
"That was a piece of cake!" Lando said while laying down with a big smile on his face.
"But you seriously put us in danger!" Freya shouted.
"We would've been in danger anyways sooner or later," Carmela responded with a shaky voice. Tala was starting to feel nauseous once the adrenaline went away. Jimmy sat down as he was exhausted. Antonio was trying to analyze the body and I was sitting down by the doorway looking at them.
