†********Gideon's POV********†
As I was about to leave the classroom's door and head to the martial arts practical room.
Emma obstructed my passage, I was the last person who was about to leave the class, so there was no one witnessing what was happening.
"Uh...Do you mind? I have a class to catch up to"
I said not understanding why she was obstructing me from passing through the door.
"My name is Emma, Emma Lucian." She said a sense of pride in her family's name was noticeable from her tone.
"Didn't ask. Besides you already introduced yourself to the whole class." I said in a flat tone.
"I'm from the..."
"I don't care about that miss," I said cutting her off.
I wanted to get to the next class, because, I don't want to lose any of my marks.
Although it's not like I have any to begin with, I still don't want to have a negative, my zero is already troublesome.
"You're quite rude, aren't you?" She said, slightly annoyed.
"State your business ma'am, I'm sure you didn't just stop me to just introduce yourself to me, did you?" I said in a flat tone.
~Tsk~
She clicked her tongue in annoyance.
"I want you to tell me everything you know about your friend." She said in a demanding tone.
"And...who exactly is my friend?" I asked
"Henry of course," She said.
"Oh, and what's in it for me princess?" I said like a businessman, trying to negotiate with a dealer.
"huh? You need a gain?"
"Business princess, that's what the world's all about, I can't render free services to you princess."
Well if that's what you want, then it's an honor, you'll gain the honor and respect for saving Lucian's family from a filthy low-life thief" She said with resentment at the last part of her sentence.
~Pfft~ I laughed
"Honor?
Really?
Is that what you have to offer to me if I betray my friend and give away information about him which is putting him at risk of getting hurt?"
I said, trying to bring to her knowledge of how stupid the deal was.
"Yes, I don't see anything wrong with it, you only made it sound bad." She said rolling her eyes.
"You're a naive princess. What the hell is the honor supposed to do for me?
I think you're the one trying to protect your honor.
Wanna know why?
Because it's going to be embarrassing for the world to know that a lowlife stole from an esteemed family.
But, you have already exposed yourself to the class, so there's no more honor to protect.
We both know how fast news travel don't you princess?
Do you know what it'll tell of you when the world hears this?
It'll tell of how weak, vulnerable, and irresponsible your family is." I said all this in my usual flat tone
Emma widened her eyes in realization
"I guess you didn't think that through now did you?" I said noticing her shock.
"Ok, name your prize, help me win back my family's honor," She said after taking a breath and calming down.
"Uh... First of all, he's not my friend, he just calls himself my best friend but I assure you we're just seatmates.
Secondly, I don't know anything about him, like literally.
I mean, he's in the school in sponsorship and I don't even know who is sponsoring him." I said
*Not like I even bothered asking*
"Then you'll help me keep an eye him down and monitor him, for a handsome reward," She said trying to convince me
"No can't do princess, even if it was to be for a beautiful reward, I can't stress myself that way, ma'am."
Raising an eyebrow she looked at me confused.
~Haaa~
Sighing, I decided to explain.
"You see, the thing is that I don't want to get involved in whatever is going on between you two, so accepting your offer will just have me tangled up in the web of your conflict," I said honestly
". . . " The princess was speechless
"Thanks for the very awkward conversation, now if I may, I would head to the practical room princess."
I said making use of the small space, and squeezing myself through I finally left the class.
Walking out of the class, I headed to a building not too far away from the main school through a hallway.
Heading to a room with a large door that slid open as it sensed me approaching it.
It closed back as soon as I entered it. I was currently in my school's martial arts practical room, or should I say hall.
It had a very huge interior space, its floor was made of glass, and it was transparent as we could see the huge ground floor that was below us.
Each seat was arranged like it was in the class, carrying its numbers.
I headed to the one written 110 and sat down.
Facing the student was a very wide glass mad cubicle.
And beside it was a giant glass tube, enough to contain two people.
It was a magnificent sight. Some seconds after I entered the hall, Emma entered too and took her seat after giving me a heart-piercing gaze.
"Now, let's start the first practical," The teacher said.
She did not bother repeating herself, so I asked Henry what she had said.
Henry looked at me, and said in a dark, cold heavy tone, making the sentence seem like a pronunciation of "death"
"We're going to test our physical strength before we face off against each other"
