David wearing his full set of armor was waiting in a teleportation magic circle in the basement of their guild along with Luna and some of his guild members.
All 4 major guild of the country has teleportation magic circle that allows easy transport to each guild incase of emergency. The magic circle is not easy to activate though, they need permission from the Chairman and if granted, he will command the Lich, who holds the activation key of each teleportation magic circle to activate it.
Archie was busy these past few days that's why the Lich was assigned to do it. Although both Hunter Association and Frost Legion have emergency teleportation scrolls to use, it's only available to them and not to Maharlika Guild.
Few minutes of waiting the magic circle glows and approximately 15 high ranking Hunters from B-rank to S-rank arrive.
"David..." Ms. Christine saw David and immediately offer her hand for a handshake.
"Don't be so formal, we've been together in Lich subjugation mission. Is this your guild members?"
"Yes they are, the dungeon raid will start in an hour right? I think it's better to let them meet your guild members as well."
"Of course, Luna, guide these people to the Living room where our members waiting."
Luna just nodded and lead the Maharlika members outside the teleportation room.
David then guide Christine as well to where his office is.
"Did you brief your members already about what's going to happen?"
"Yes, I told them that they will be joining forces with your guild members to raid a dungeon because you are absent."
The two arrived at David's office and he opened the door for Ms. Christine. Which makes her notice David's natural kindness.
"Good" David simply reply as he signaled Christine to take a seat while he was opening a box.
Christine was curious to what David's doing but she decided to ignore it and ask for more important things.
"The Chairman said that we are going to investigate something and my ability is needed. He even told me to wear my combat attire and told me to ask you for the rest. What does he mean?"
David finish the unboxing and reveal a pile of bond paper with magic circle on it. Christine who saw it could feel that each one of them contains mana.
These papers are Teleportation Magic circles that Archie provided at him for emergency uses.
David pealed one and hand it over to Christine.
"Take this, it's for emergency escape."
Christine accepted it and put it in her pocket. David on the other hand take a seat and face Christine.
"Our task is something that can either be dangerous or not. It all depends on the intentions of the people that we need to investigate."
"I can get it now. Are we going to investigate the rumored cult?"
"You knew about it?"
"The Chairman told me but I don't understand why investigating it can be dangerous. Sorry for being slow. I just don't know things related to this stuffs, I am just a normal Hotel Manager before things becomes like this."
"Don't worry, I completely understand. Let's ask one of my guild member to use illusion magic to hide our armors."
"Sounds like a good idea."
The two move outside David's office room and they manage to meet the members of each guild who were talking and introducing themselves. They where even discussing battle the formation and they were being lead by A-rank Hunter in Maharlika Guild.
David already told his guild members that they will be following Maharlika's command since none of David's member is capable of leading and Charlie isn't around as well.
"Sorry to interrupt, you can continue, I just need Max for a second." David said and the temporary leader nodded continuing the discussion.
The Hunter named Max move towards David and Christine.
"Sir, what is it that you need?" He asks.
"Can you put illusion to our armors to make them look like ordinary clothes in the eyes of the people?"
"Yes I can, but the illusion will stop the moment I stop supplying it with mana. But it's fine though if you are the one that is supplying it with mana."
"Yeah I'm fine with it. Do it."
Max nodded and he starts weaving Light Magic and rearrange it so colors will take a shape themselves and will look like ordinary clothes.
The entire process took a total of 10 minutes to the both of them. Which makes David remember Archie.
If he did it, the longest that it could take will probably 10 seconds to the both of them. He then realize that he is wrong in comparing the two.
Max should be considered as good already im using his magic, specially since he doesn't have illusion skills. And what he did was manual light manipulation that imitate illusions.
"Thank you for doing it." Christine said.
"No problem Miss Christine."
"Where is Luna? Isn't she suppose to be here as well?" David asks while looking around.
"She did go to your office sir if I recall it. Did you not meet her there?"
"Yes I did not? Where is she? Anyways if you met her tell her to take care of the guild and if something important comes up, just tell her to handle it herself if she can and if she cannot, she can just ask father for help."
"Yes sir, I'll tell her."
Max then return to the group and both David and Christine leave the guild.
After their arrival outside, the first thing that Christine notices is the dome barrier that encompasses the entire guild building. At the top of the dome is a huge snowflake, which also symbolize who the owner of the guild here is.
"Did you erect this Barrier? It's quite amazing. How I wish I can do the same to my guild building as well."
"Oh that? Archie leave that here when he came to visit."
"You too seems so close. How I wish Archie would made me something like this as well. But he's so busy lately. I doubt if he has the time to entertain me."
"When he finish his work outside the country, I will ask him personally to make you a barrier and give you a discounted price."
A taxi stop in front of the two and the driver immediately recognize them and let them in. After David told the driver about their destination, their conversation resume.
"Archie's fee is always expensive. I don't think that I can afford it. Dungeons are not that profitable, the only way to gain money from it is to sell mana stones and monster cores and few highly discounted monsters that researchers wants to buy."
"Huh? Did you not sell them at Arch Enterprise? Dungeon Raids is actually very profitable if you sell your loots even monster bodies to Arch Enterprise. They like buying dungeon stuffs at high price."
"Really? I thought that Arch Enterprise only sells expensive magic items? I didn't know that they are also buying dungeon loots."
"Apparently they are. The reason for high price for their magic items is because they are buying dungeon loots at high prices as well. We raid one B-rank dungeon before and our profit is..."
David whispered to Christine as he doesn't want the driver to hear it.
Christine's eyes where about to pop out when she hears what David said.
"What? That much? The amount that we receive didn't even reach 1/4 of the amount you have despite raiding the same rank dungeon. Gosh, I hope that I learn about it sooner."
"Arch Enterprise didn't have to advertise themselves because people are flocking at their doors to the point where they cannot supply the demand. But they are planning to do so later when they have enough resources to expand."
"You know a lot. Did Archie tell you in person?"
David just nodded at her.
"Wherever Archie goes, money follows. He is really destined to become rich. I wouldn't be shock if one day he becomes a member of the top 1 richest people in the world."
"So do I, he's like a magnet that attracts all good things to his side."
"Oh, speaking of magnets. I forgot to tell you, someone is behind the door at your office earlier when we were talking. Did you give instructions to your employees not to enter your office when someone is in there?"
"I can't recall. How did you manage to detect it by the way? I didn't feel any mana nearby when we were discussing things inside my office."
"Oh, the person behind the door is not awaken. Usually I'm sensitive to mana allowing me to detect things that has it in my surroundings but lately, I feel like what I'm detecting is not mana. I am detecting presence around me but I am not detecting them through mana since I can still detect people without it. I am still figuring out how I detect people, I'm still new to this power."
David listen to her and wondered. There are only few unawaken people working inside the Frost Legion. And base on what Max told him, the possibility of that person behind the door being Luna is quite high.
But why is she eavesdropping? As he recall, Luna is the type of person who would enter his office with or without a visitor in it. And usually if there is someone in there, meeting David, she will only apologize for the interruption.
Her actions doesn't make sense right now. And her sudden disappearance makes David suspicious at her.
