"You have knowledge about magic? That's a very amazing skill. Our mage that has the same mana as you created a powerful magic items for himself as well but he didn't sell it since he is still completing his set. He said that it is very hard to make."
The Man replied but the female beside him poke him to stop him from revealing secrets.
Archie saw the interaction of the two and he now confirm that there are indeed people like him who was blessed by mana and could create powerful magic items.
"It's fine Sofia, Archie here told us one of his skill, I think it's only fair that we reveal something to him as well in return."
The man assured Sofia.
"Don't worry, I want to keep a good relationship with the U.S so you can trust me about it." Archie added.
The female named Sofia nodded but suddenly she took her phone out and look at it.
"By the way, can I see the legendary magic sword Gram?"
"You can ask the Chairman later if you wanna take a look at it."
"You handed something so valuable to the Chairman?" The Man ask but suddenly Sofia interrupted the two.
"I receive a message from our superior. They were asking if it is ok with you to use your teleportation magic to teleport everyone if they were about to be defeated in the battle field. And also reveal to us what you know about the magic beast Fenrir and how to defeat it from your skill." She said.
It seems like the whole conversation was transmitted to their country and they hear everything that they talk about, Archie realize it immediately.
"I'm sorry but this meeting is all about City Restoration. Your time is about to end as well. I will entertain that things later at night after I finish meeting the other nations as well. By the way, I don't mean to be rude, I just want to confirm something, did your country help us in anyway after the dungeon gate opens?" Archie asks.
The Philippines and USA has mutual defense treaty and when Philippines is in danger, the USA is suppose to come to their rescue. That's what Archie is referring into.
"We didn't send any Hunters since we needed them to deal with monsters but we did send you monetary support and prioritize you in the creation of the mana scaling device. Why are you asking?"
Archie's face turns red in anger. The filthy president hog all the money that he receive as support and didn't use it to his people.
"One last question, what did you offer to the President when you ask him that you wanted to meet me?" Archie asks.
"It's about more trades and the likes."
Archie's blood is boiling, when the wealthiest country give support, it means it would be over hundred of millions of dollars and 1 pesos is equivalent to 50 dollars. Added by more trading deals, money should be all over the place now.
But Archie only receive a few of it and the other hunter receive much less than him. There is no need to use their money for reconstruction because Archie did that, there's also no need to use the money for relief goods and such because the people immediately regain their livelihoods back.
The only thing that the government is paying is the Hunters and they only pay a few thousand for those who did a lot of things.
Soldiers are their weapons are not included since they already have a budget of their own before the year started. Hunter Association and Hunter Guilds are not included as well since the government will be getting money from it and their help from such institutions are considered as investment since they are expecting money to return.
While Archie was thinking all of that, he was being unconscious about his mana. The 2 awakened who was already uncomfortable to his presence, begun to shudder.
The Man notice them and remembers that every Hunter can release an intimidating aura that could inflict fear at those that are weaker at them.
He immediately grab Archie's attention who was currently busy looking at nothing.
"Hello Archie, what's going on?"
The man interrupted Archie and Archie was returned to the present and retracted his aura.
"Sorry, I didn't mean it. You probably could guess why I reacted that way after asking such questions right? Anyways, it is something that we should talk about."
Archie then clears his mind and smiled at the people in front of him.
"Things like that is really common in the government, right Mr.Thomas?" Sofia said and the man named Thomas agreed, indicating that he also has a rough idea of what has just transpire.
"Let's return to our topic, I heard that you needed mana stones and monster cores to restore cities. If we provide you with such things, will you be able to help us?"Thomas ask.
He is trying to change the dangerous topic since their talk is being monitored. The people who will hear what they were saying here might not like him if he says unnecessary comments to their country leaders.
"I can restore cities using my own mana but it won't be enough if I restore a lot of city. Time magic consumes so much mana compared to other types of magic, that's why I will be needing a lot of mana stones and monster cores to replenish my mana and restore a lot of cities." Archie explains and the two were already expecting that.
"I will provide you with magic circles as well. You need to bring them to the damage cities so that I can come there via teleportation and restore it as fast as I could."
"You can come and go to our country then at any moment? I think you coming to our country anytime will pose a security issue. We have to talk about it to our superiors first." Ms. Sofia said and take a look at her phone.
She then receive a message fast.
"They said that if you promise to never use your power against the USA, they will grant you a special privilege of coming in and out to our country. As long as you ask for permission everytime you come first." Sofia relayed the message.
"Tell them that I understand. Now let's talk about the rewards that I will get."
Archie is becoming eager to finish the conversation, since they only has few minutes left.
As Archie was thinking that, suddenly someone entered the room, revealing the other helper and she handed him the photo copy of the magic circles.
She then return to watch over the door.
"We will give you 5 million dollars cash, and if you prioritize us we will give you an additional 1 million dollar. How about it?"
Archie heart was beating fast after hearing such a huge sum of money, but he won't get swayed easily this time. He only consider a small amount of reward in his country because it is poor, but he won't be the same to a wealthy country.
"I will be restoring cities worth trillions of dollars in total and you are only giving me such amount? I'm sorry but I now know my worth. The deal is off, you can leave this place now if you are just like that."
Archie look at the helper and signaled him to call the next people, but Mr. Thomas stopped him from doing so.
"Sorry, how about 10 million?" Mr. Thomas suggested.
Archie pretended to think before shaking his head.
"How much do you want?" Ms. Sofia asks.
"How about a hundred million dollars." Archie said and both people stood up in shocked.
"What? That was a very huge money." Mr.Thomas said.
"This is a daylight robbery." Ms. Sofia said as well.
"Actually not, I think I am still at the losing side here. I know that someone is getting paid in millions just by restoring a single building, I am restoring an entire city, and not just one city, several cities at that. All you have to provide me is mana stones and monster cores that's all, no other raw materials needed. You only have 2 choice, Either you take it or you leave it. It's entirely up to you."
"It is still too much. What will you do with that much money anyway?" Ms. Sofia asks.
"I will tell you since I trust you. I am planning to conduct and independent research about anything that is related to mana and dungeons. Also create new things as well." Archie explained, making him sound trustworthy and reasonable to the people he was talking to.
"We will agree with your term, however we want to be the first to see your research results first."
"Sure, I don't mind as long as you won't ask me to hand over to you my research results for free. Also, I will ensure that you will be prioritize and will be at the top of the list but you need to give me the money, not in dollars but in gold."
"What? You want it to be in gold?"
"Yes, only if you want to be prioritize. You don't need to pay me in gold if you are fine being put later on. The others are surely willing to do what I want just to be prioritize."
"Fine, we will do what you ask. But you have to claim it yourself. It is hard to transfer gold in huge amount safely."
"Sure, no problem. Here take this magic circlers and bring them to each place that you want me to restore. Thank you, it was a nice negotiation."
Archie offered them a shake hand and each of them receive it. Although they are not happy to the amount, they are still willing to accept it, since only Archie could restore huge cities. And the value of the cities that he is restoring is indeed worth billions and trillions of dollars. It is more costly to rebuild everything from the scratch than to just pay Archie a hundred million worth of gold.
