"Are you all ready?"
I am now currently in Mr. Soreso's house along with his entire family to transport them to Manila.
"Yes please. It seems like everyone here is already prepared and ready." Mrs. Soreso replied and I nodded.
--Teleport--
The scenery suddenly change and we arrived at the Malacañang Palace.
"Where are we?" Elly asks.
"We are in Malacañang Palace" David replied to her and their eyes turn to look at the palace in their back.
Suddenly someone approach us and we waited for him to arrive at us.
"Are you the former lieutenant Soreso's family? I have been tasked at bringing you to where he is. You probably won't reach the place before the ribbon cutting. You came here a little late." He explained and everyone prepared themselves to follow the guy.
I stopped everyone.
"Sorry but we won't be needing your service. Thank you for the offer though." I said.
"What are you saying? We're late already." Charlie replied but I ignored him.
I begun searching for Mr.Soreso's energy signature and I located it immediately. He is being surrounded by quite a number of awakened already.
I reap apart the space and suddenly on the other side we could see Mr. Soreso along with other people look at our direction.
Everyone was shocked and afraid of the sudden opening of the space but Mr. Soreso calmed them all.
"I thought you would arrive late. Good thing you arrive 5 minutes before it starts." He said and all of us move to the other side so I immediately close the space rift.
"Sorry Mr. Soreso, I know that my transportation method wouldn't take a long time so I decided to come here minutes before everything starts so no one has to wait." I explained.
"Nah it's fine. I'm just afraid that you wouldn't make it that's all. Archie, I would like you to meet Sir. Delarosa, our secretary of defense here in the Philippines."
Suddenly a familiar face offer his hand to me. I often see him only in Tv everytime there's an issue in the Philippines that involves the security of the country.
"Nice meeting you person Sir Delarosa." I said while shaking his hand.
"You are just a kid but as far as I remember, you are suppose to be 21." He commented on my physical trait.
I then laugh at him.
"Hahaha, I'll take that as a compliment Sir."
Suddenly Mr.Soreso came near to me and whisper something.
"He would like to talk to you for a second Archie, it's related to National Security but he didn't tell me what is it. If he needs you on something just say that you need time to think about it and talk to me about it first." Mr. Soreso said.
"I have telepathy magic, with this we can talk while I was in a meeting with him. Do you want me to establish it?" I also whispered back and he just nodded at me and move away.
"He's all yours" Mr. Soreso said and guided everyone to follow him.
I then begun weaving my magic ang connect it Mr.Soreso.
"Mr. Archie let's talk somewhere else." He said and he guided me somewhere.
We enter a room and I saw two awakened inside, both are strong. The other is on the same level as Charlie but the other is a little weaker but still could be considered strong.
Sir. Delarosa then offer me a sit and I sit in front of him. The two awakened stood up beside him but they are looking at me with a sense of dread.
"I will go straight to what I want to ask you. What is your plans here on the Philippines?" He asks.
"I don't think I get what you were trying to say."
"Hmm... We saw the footage of what you did to Marinduque city so I'm asking you, what is your intentions and plans in the future?" He seriously ask.
I see, they fear my power and what I would do with it.
"I don't have any plans for the future. I'm just following the orders of Mr.Soreso."
He look at me while judging my every actions. Actually he is quite intimidating and I'm a little terrified of the atmosphere. I feel like I am being interrogated for committing a crime.
"Are you sure about that? Then what is his plans for the future? Do you know that?"
I nodded.
"Of course I know. That's why I follow him." I replied.
"Like planning to have a coup in the country?"
I am terrified after hearing that. It seems like they are thinking that we will use our power to get the country for ourselves.
'Mr. Soreso, Sir. Delarosa has been thinking if we want to have a coup in the future.' I immediately send a telepathic message to Mr. Soreso.
'They feared the power of the awakens. If not for you, I would also be the same. Just tell him that we don't have such intentions.' He replied.
"We don't have any plans on having a coup in this country. Mr. Soreso even put me to manage the hunters in this country so we could avoid it from happening." I replied.
"I see, I guess he hates rebellion as well. Well he did pledge before that he will use his power to protect Philippines. I guess he still has his morals." Sir. Delarosa sigh in relief.
"Did you come here just to ask me if we have any intention of overthrowing the country?" I ask.
"It is only one of the reason. The cabinet members and the president has been worried for the possibility of a coup. A number of small countries are actually having civil war because of Awakens that wanted to take control of their country. Signs of that happening here is actually been seen. That's why we are preparing for the possibility."
Well its actually not that hard to think why it happens. There are really people who would want to rule over a nation, now that those people are given powers, they would obviously use it to get what they want.
"I thought it was the job of the Hunter Association as well to handle those issues?"
"Yes but what if the Hunter Association themselves turn it's back in the government? Who would stop them? It's not like people and citizens could go against an awakened."
I got stuck in a sudden realization. The matters involving this issue is actually very important to national security. I could see now why the government is wary to the newly incorporated Hunter Association. If we appointed a wrong person in the position of the Chairman, only the strongest awakened could stop it from doing what it wants, but what if the strongest awakened in the country and the Chairman of Hunter association work together? Who could stop them?
No one, and the Government knew all of that. That's why they send the secretary of defense here to ask me personally of my intentions since I've allied my self to the former Lieutenant which will soon be appointed as Chairman in the inauguration of Hunter Association.
"I see, I will guarantee it that my intention and Mr. Soreso's intention is not to take a coup to the country. I will also personally look at the matters involving coups from awakened individual." I said.
"Your cooperation of stopping it from happening is very reassuring. I do hope that there's a way to juts simply avoid it all from happening."
"There is, didn't Mr. Soreso informed you about pledge and oath taking of the awakened that will register here in the Hunter Association?" I asks.
"Huh? Oath taking and Pledges are just words. There are a lot of rouge there who wouldn't follow such promises."
It seems like he didn't know how this works.
"Actually the Pledges and Oath taking is a form of magical contract that I personally made and will attach to the soul of the contranctee. They will never be able to perform what is stated in the Oath and Pledge even if they force themselves unless they both parties agreed to nullify it incase of emergency. Don't worry these contract is not something that could be breach even by someone like me." I explained.
Sir. Delarasa has a questionable look in his face. It seems like he has a lot of questions and still absorbing what I just said.
"In short, you don't need to worry about the awakens, they can no longer damage properties nor harm people using their powers since we use magic to prevent them from doing that." I explained.
"That's good to hear, did any of you send reports about this to the office of the president?" He asks.
"I don't know. We only incorporated that thing yesterday and Mr. Soreso has been busy with everything. So It's not shocking if he forgets." I explained.
"I can understand but please remind him to include it on the report on the next meeting."
I just nodded in response.
"By the way I remember you saying that there are signs of awakened people trying to have a coup. Can you tell me more about it?" I ask.
"Oh, about that. We received information that the biggest rebel group here where incorporating the powers of awakened people in their military power. That's why we are being wary of them and we're hoping that you would deal with the issue of those awakened." He explained.
"Aw I see. Don't worry, Mr. Soreso will probably make it so that every awakened who did not register and take an oath will be mark as criminal and will be imprisoned for doing so." I said.
"Hopefully you find a way to imprison them. I have to take my leave now and return to the Malacañang Palace immediately to report things here. It's about time that you register yourself as well. Thank your for your time. I expect your words that you will use your power for the greater good of this Nation." He said and stood up.
"Yes sir. Please let me bring you to Malacañang Palace using my powers." I offered but he refused.
It seems like he's already aware of my teleportation magic.
"I brought my car here so I have to return using it. Thank you for the offer. By the way, for security purposes don't just teleport to Malacañang Palace anytime you want. You need to tell people there that you will be coming first."
I can understand that. Even I don't want someone who would just teleport to my place whenever he/she wanted without my permission.
"I'll keep that in mind sir." I said and he just nodded and left.
