As Alex walked through the deserted street 0n his way home, the tall buildings with neon lights in the distance created an eerie backdrop to the night. A sense of tranquillity enveloped him as he relished the solitude of the empty streets. However, that peaceful feeling was short-lived, as he suddenly felt a strange tug at his heart, a sensation he couldn't explain.
Instinctively, he turned around, his hazel eyes scanning the shadows. His heart quickened as he caught sight of a man standing there with a bloodthirsty smile on his face. The man's piercing gaze sent shivers down Alex's spine, and he could sense something sinister about him.
The man moved forward silently, his steps seemingly gliding over the ground. Alex's fear surged, but he quickly steeled himself for a potential confrontation. He couldn't let fear paralyze him; he had to protect himself.
With newfound confidence in his abilities, Alex braced himself for the inevitable attack. The man suddenly accelerated, lunging at Alex with inhuman speed. Reacting quickly, Alex sidestepped and dodged the attack, relying on the enhanced speed granted by his Sanguine blood.
The man was taken aback, surprised by Alex's swift evasion. He spoke with a sinister chuckle, "Impressive, you're quite fast for a human."
Alex's suspicions were confirmed; the man was a vampire. The realization sent another wave of fear coursing through him, but he pushed it aside, focusing on the task at hand.
He quickly prickled his skin and drew blood. The blood covered his hands and quickly solidified to form a crimson blade, its gleaming edge reflecting the neon lights in the distance. With a quick flick of his wrist, he hurled the blade at the vampire, aiming to incapacitate him.
The vampire displayed his agility, narrowly dodging the sharp projectile. The blade grazed his shoulder, drawing blood, but the wound healed almost instantly."You just threw your weapon away, boy. " The vampire said as he again smiled at Alex as if taunting him.
'He doesn't know that I'm not a human. ' It was an advantage to Alex that the enemy didn't know his true identity.
Their eyes locked in a tense standoff, each sizing the other up, assessing their opponent's strengths and weaknesses. Alex knew he couldn't match the vampire's experience, but he had a few tricks up his sleeve.
Gathering his resolve, he focused on his abilities, utilizing the blood within him to bolster his strength and speed. He lunged forward, delivering a flurry of attacks, and the vampire deftly countered each one.
The battle raged on, the deserted street serving as their battleground. Alex's heart pounded in his chest as he tried to anticipate the vampire's moves. The night air crackled with tension, and the neon lights flickered with every swift motion.
It was the first time Alex had gotten in a real fight but it felt like it wasn't. Some things came almost instinctual to him.
Again drawing his blood, Alex launched another blade, aiming with precision and ferocity. The vampire was momentarily caught off guard, and Alex's blade found its mark, slashing across the vampire's arm.
A growl of pain escaped the vampire's lips, but he quickly regained his composure, his eyes now glinting with rage. The wound began to heal, and Alex knew he couldn't rely on mere physical attacks to defeat this formidable adversary.
As the standoff continued, Alex's mind raced, seeking a strategy that could give him an advantage. Then he remembered his new weapons, the fleshly extensions. He didn't know what it was called but it was now a ticket out of this situation.
The vampire's bloodthirsty smile intensified as he taunted Alex. He was trying to get into his head and force him to make a mistake.
But Alex ignored his taunting smile and focused on bringing out the extensions. And a bit later, he could feel it coming out of his back, tearing apart his skin and clothes.
As the four blood-red metallic extensions emerged from Alex's back, the vampire's eyes widened in shock and horror.
"A four-winged Ghoul. " The vampire exclaimed. He turned on his heels and tried to flee. Four-winged ghouls were strong. They were said to be almost as strong as pure-blooded vampires. And he was just a normal vampire born from two normal vampires. He couldn't fight against this Ghoul.
The extensions sliced through the air, piercing the vampire's back with precision. In an unfortunate twist of fate, the extensions also impaled the vampire's heart, instantly killing him. The vampire's body crumpled to the ground, lifeless.
As Alex pulled back his extensions from the vampire's back, a mixture of emotions washed over him. He had just taken a life, even if it was a creature of the night. Guilt gnawed at him, but he quickly suppressed it, reminding himself that the vampire had been intent on killing him first. It was a matter of survival.
Breathing heavily, Alex stared at the vampire's lifeless form, his mind reeling with the reality of the situation. He had faced a supernatural adversary, and he had emerged victorious, but the price weighed heavily on his conscience.
His eyes travelled to the crimson extensions still emanating from his back. They were a testament to his newfound power, a power that came with immense responsibility and consequences. Alex realized that he was no longer an ordinary teenager; he was now a Sanguine Progenitor, a being with abilities beyond imagination.
Determination surged through him, replacing the guilt. He had to accept his destiny and the path that lay ahead. The supernatural world was no longer a distant concept; it was now a harsh reality he had to navigate.
As he walked away from the lifeless body of the vampire, he knew that he couldn't afford to let his emotions cloud his judgment. The world he knew had forever changed, and he had to adapt to survive.
But Alex had questions. Why did this vampire decide to attack? Was it for blood or he knew about him being a Sanguine? Alex didn't think that anybody else should have already known about him becoming a Sanguine. After all, Sanguine was said to be extinct before.
Alex continued his journey home, the neon lights of the distant buildings casting an ethereal glow on his path. Thoughts of the encounter replayed in his mind, and It all seemed strange. But he shrugged it off.
Arriving home, he entered his room and took a moment to collect himself. He knew that he had to keep his new identity as a Sanguine Progenitor a secret, at least for now.
Seated at his desk, he looked at the book and the vial his father had left him. The weight of his decision to embrace his destiny as a Sanguine Progenitor pressed on him, but he knew there was no turning back.
He couldn't change the fact that he had taken a life, but he could choose how he would wield his newfound power.
As the night waned on, Alex's mind was a whirlwind of conflicting emotions.
The neon lights outside slowly faded as dawn approached, casting a pale glow on his room. The night had been a turning point, the beginning of a new chapter in Alex's life. He closed his eyes, ready to embrace the dawn of his destiny, to protect the world from the darkness that lurked in its shadows.
