Inside a dimly lit hall, A man sitting on a throne abruptly opened his eyes, his gaze intense as he scanned the room. With a commanding voice, he called out, "Marcus, come here!"
A tall, imposing figure stepped forward, bowing respectfully. "Yes, my Lord?"
The man on the throne leaned forward, "I felt a disturbance. "
Marcus's eyes widened as soon as he heard the word disturbance. Beings capable of causing disturbance to be felt from far were rare. Only the birth of pure blood could cause it. But to birth a pureblood, a progenitor from one of the three races must be involved.
"But the progenitor..... " Marcus questioned with confusion as he lifted his head to look at his lord. The lord of all ghouls and their progenitor.
"Yes, that is why you need to investigate it. The wolf might have come out of hiding. " The lord smiled as he slowly stood up from the throne.
"Find the newborn and bring him back to me. "
Marcus nods, his eyes gleaming with determination. "Consider it done, my Lord." He swiftly turned on his heels and headed off to fulfil his master's order.

Meanwhile, in Alex's room, he sat cross-legged on the floor, his eyes wide with wonder. The ball of blood in his palm shifted and shimmered, taking on various intricate shapes before his eyes. It danced like a mesmerizing display of artistry, seemingly alive with ancient power.
His breath caught as he watched the blood enter his body through the cut in his hand. The wound miraculously healed, leaving no trace behind. He had gained what the book had said. And lost all the weakness he had before. And now he was an entirely different person than he was before. His skin had returned to what it was before and his sunken eyes looked healthy now. It seemed that he had become a Sanguine now.
As Alex stepped out of his house, the moonlight bathed the quiet street in a soft silvery glow. The night air carried a hint of crispness, promising a cool and pleasant evening ahead. He felt a newfound energy coursing through his veins, a result of the transformation he had undergone after consuming the ghoul's blood. His senses seemed sharper, his perception keener, and his steps lighter, as if he were gliding through the streets.
The tall, sleek buildings of New Haven reached toward the sky, their holographic displays showcasing a vibrant mix of advertisements and art. Neon lights danced along the sides of the structures, casting colourful reflections on the pavement below. The city was alive with movement and energy, as people of various species went about their night, each with their own stories and purposes.
As he walked, Alex's enhanced vision allowed him to see the fine details of the world around him—the intricacies of the flowerbeds lining the sidewalks, the gentle sway of leaves on the trees, and the minute expressions on people's faces as they interacted with one another. The city was a tapestry of life, an intermingling of humans and supernatural beings, and Alex was now part of that extraordinary blend.
The aroma of various cuisines wafted from nearby eateries, enticing him with their delectable offerings. He paused for a moment, considering indulging in the pleasures of food that he had once enjoyed as a human. However, the lingering discomfort in his stomach reminded him that his body had changed, and the allure of normal food had diminished.
With a sense of acceptance, Alex continued his journey through the bustling streets, guided by the warmth of the streetlights and the laughter that echoed from the nearby parks. His mind drifted to the meeting place where he was supposed to join his friends for a movie night. The anticipation of seeing Lily, James, Ryan, and Emma filled him with a mixture of excitement and trepidation.
As he approached the rendezvous spot, he noticed the Starlight Cinemas towering in the distance. The enormous holographic screen displayed trailers for upcoming movies, captivating passersby with their impressive visuals and heart-pounding sound. The cinema complex was a popular hangout spot for students and young adults, its façade adorned with futuristic architecture that blended seamlessly with the cityscape.
Alex spotted the familiar faces of his friends waiting near the entrance. Lily's fiery red hair stood out among the crowd, and her infectious laughter could be heard from afar. James, with his ever-present friendly grin, seemed to be animatedly recounting a humorous story. Ryan's tall frame made him easily recognizable, and Emma's sketchbook peeked out from her bag, hinting at her creative mind.
His heart warmed at the sight of them, knowing that they were an essential part of his life, a sanctuary of friendship amid the enigmatic world he now belonged to. Taking a deep breath, he approached them, the crimson glow in his eyes dimming slightly to appear more human-like.
"Hey, guys!" he greeted them with a genuine smile, his voice carrying a new sense of confidence.
Lily's emerald eyes sparkled with excitement as she exclaimed, "Alex, you made it! We were worried you might not come."
"I wouldn't miss it for the world," Alex replied, trying to sound casual despite the significant changes he had experienced.
James clapped him on the back, grinning. "Great to have you with us, man!"
As they exchanged light banter and discussed the movie they were about to watch, Alex felt a sense of belonging. His friends didn't seem to notice anything different about him, which both relieved and troubled him. He wanted to confide in them, to share his newfound powers and responsibilities, but he knew he needed more time to understand and accept them himself.
The evening progressed, and they made their way into the cinema. Alex sat beside Lily, feeling a strange pull towards her, an unseen connection that seemed to grow stronger since his transformation.
As the lights dimmed and the screen came to life, Alex lost himself in the magic of the movies, cherishing the ordinary moments that now held extraordinary meaning in his life. He even forgot that Lilly was by his side.
The movie's tale of heroism and sacrifice resonated with him on a deeper level, reminding him of the letter from his father and the path he had chosen.
After the movie, as they walked back home, the night sky was adorned with twinkling stars, illuminating their way with a celestial glow.
