I closed the door to my room as I entered, then took a seat at my desk with a pen and paper in hand.
"This time, I'll write only a one-page letter and ask if I can visit him on a day when he's available," I resolved.
With that task completed, I summoned the butler to ensure the letter's delivery by the following day.
A day passed in what felt like the blink of an eye, yet there was still no reply from Xyriel.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, Ade returned, her face flushed, being carried like a princess by her wife, Chasina.
"I came to safely return my beloved." Chasina declared confidently.
"Please put me down, darling!" Ade stammered.
"I wish I could carry you like this forever, darling. It's a shame I can't do it all the time," Chasina pouted.
"I don't want to be carried every day, darling. I just want you to always be by my side," Ade replied, planting a kiss on Chasina's cheek.
