Chapter 57 - "Meeting up"

I quickly red the content of the letter.

His reply was short and only contained an apology from when he ran away, leaving me behind at the Barnabas' mansion. And also a note saying to privately meet him next week in the afternoon. The same day we have to meet with Duke Sebastian to try and convince him about my proposal.

Even within the letter, it felt as though he had brushed aside my feelings.

I hurriedly made my way to my room to draft a response. In my letter, I assured him that he didn't need to join me in meeting Duke Sebastian, and I was more than willing to explain my proposal to him separately. I didn't want him to feel uncomfortable, especially considering Duke Sebastian's affection for him. I agreed to meet with him after my meeting with Duke Sebastian concluded.

Once I carefully penned the letter, I handed it to one of the butlers to deliver to Xyriel.
