The next day the four of them went into Chicago for one or two Boxing Day sales, lunch and the carriage ride through the park. It was every bit as beautiful as it had been when Becca and Luke had gone by themselves three days ago. There were a few moments where Mrs. Shelton had to bite back a few tears but, on the whole, they had a lovely afternoon; it was a fitting last day before Becca and Luke flew out to Milwaukee the next day.
"I'm glad you got to stay those extra few days," Mrs. Shelton said as she hugged her son's girlfriend as they were waiting for the taxi to take them to the airport.
"Me too," Becca nodded. "Thank you for having me over and everything," she added.
"You're more than welcome, dear," she responded, petting her head as she started pulling out of the hug and gave her a big smile.
"Hey Luke, I told you so," Leanne said softly as she gave her twin brother a hug, having seen his eyes on his new girlfriend.
