Chereads / Beast Driven System / Chapter 96 - An Addiction

Chapter 96 - An Addiction

"Hey! What is going on here?!" A voice yelled, as the door leading into the room swung open, and rushing in, were two academy instructors who looked to be in a state of panic after briefly witnessing the scene taking place. Quickly, one of the instructors rushed towards the student still standing, grabbing hold of his arm and twisting his body, sending him crashing towards the floor the next second.

Meanwhile, the other instructor rushed towards the student who had collapsed on the floor prior to their entry. Kayden was still in his werewolf form, but the instructor knew the student's identity, since there was only one first year student with a transformation ability.

"I hope he will be okay," picking up the student, the man rushed out of the room with Kayden slumped over his shoulder, taking him straight to the infermary to receive medical treatment. "How on Earth did this happen? Aren't all students meant to be in class during this time?"

Picking up the other student from the floor, the instructor had him held by the scruff of his shirt, his body dangling in the air. The instructor was wondering why on Earth these two students were fighting in the first place so early in the morning, most especially in one of the separate classes. Didn't they know that it was too early for them to exchange blows since they had to be in class at this time of the day?

The red mark on his arm had caught his eye. He wasn't sure whether he was seeing things or not, but for a brief moment, the mark had glowed a faint red color, and before he could react, he felt a kick being delivered to his gut, knocking him back and crashing into the wall.

Landing on his feet, now, even his eyes shared the red glow, as they glowed bright red, like that of a vampire, and before the instructor could do anything, Marcus had rushed forward, delivering a strong kick to the man's head, and what followed were the sounds of bones cracking, as his head was crushed under the weight of the kick.

____________

"You what?!" Henry asked, his eyes wide in shock after hearing what Patricia had just said. "Why on Earth did you think that was a good idea? Do you have any idea what the leaders would do if they ever found out about this?"

Right now, they were all standing in her room in the second year building. At this time of the day, both of her roommates would be out looking for weak students to fight against. Therefore, these second year students had decided to use her room to talk about their next course of action regarding their mission.

After traveling through the portal that was created by one of the second years, the students had arrived straight into Patricia's room, where they decided to talk about what they had just executed and the next step they would take to fulfill their masters' wishes.

However, it was in the midst of their discussions, that Patricia said something that shook Henry to his very core.

"Why on Earth would you release one of the spirits into that kid's body? So you know what sort of havoc it would wreck if it is allowed to fully manifest? Have you lost your mind?

"If that spirit fully manifests in that first year's body, then we may have a threat far bigger than a grade one Shale on our hands!"

The others in the room couldn't help but stare at Patricia after hearing this. They could all agree that releasing one of the spirits they had control over onto that first year student wasn't a smart decision on her part. Of course, they wouldn't say this openly, which was why they were glad that Henry had gone ahead and done so.

After clearing her throat, Patricia opened her mouth to give out a response.

"Before we became second years, the leaders had given us five spirits to help us with our mission. They told us that we were only meant to use these spirits for the mission, and nothing else. Well, this is still a part of a mission.

"That boy, if the spirit fully manifests in his body, then it will merge with his power, granting him not only the boy's power, but also a youthful body with the potential to make him become one of the most dangerous creatures today, besides the Shales, of course.

"And if he continues to kill, then there is no limit to which Hikari's power can grow. The damage he inflicts, will only ultimately allow us to fulfill our goal in the end."

Shifting her gaze, her eyes fell upon the strange device that was placed on the table.

__________

After placing Kayden's unconscious body on one of the hospital beds, the instructor quickly rushed out of the room and ran back towards the classroom where he had found both students fighting. Immediately after opening the door, he was shocked to see what lay in front of him.

Lying in a pool of his own blood, was one of the academy's instructors. Quickly rushing to his aid, the man checked him for any signs of life. After multiple checks, his heart hate sped up, as the realization began to hit that one of his co-workers had been killed while he was away.

Not just that, but the other student was nowhere to be seen.

"Did… did that boy do all of this…?" His voice was faint, but despite his quivering hands and mouth, he knew that he would have to protect the students from whatever threat had emerged. Getting back onto his feet, he told himself again and again that there wasn't anything he could do to save the man who had just died fighting against the threat.

Before leaving the room, he looked down at the dead corpse, and said a few words, before rushing out of the room, heading towards where all the other students currently were.

Back in the classroom, the real teacher had stept in, but not just him, a few minutes later, and the other instructors had been updated that there was a threat in the school, someone who wished to harm not only the students, but the instructors, as well.

"Marcus Vonx?" One of the instructors said. This was Riley, one of the instructors who had somewhat helped out during the fight against the first and the second year students who had gone rogue, and had also been charged with the responsibility of finding out who was responsible for so many students suddenly losing their minds and going rogue.

"Isn't he the student with the memory-altering ability? That mystery class ability that allows him to change people's memories. If he had gone rogue, as well, then doesn't that mean…?" She didn't even want to imagine what this student could or might have already done after turning against the academy.

Upon entering the classroom, five of the instructors at the academy quickly scanned the room, hoping that the rogue student hadn't made it already. After a few minutes of poking around, their minds began to calm down as they realized that there was no threat to the students currently in the classroom.

The students were on high alert upon seeing so many adults in the room at the same time. A lot of them began whispering amongst themselves about what this might all be about, but one student in particular couldn't stop shaking as his eyes would meet with the instructors from time to time.

'Man, I hope these suckers don't remember what I did,' Dan thought to himself, sweat running down his face as his body continued to tremble uncontrollably.

_________

"Alright, fine. How about this? How about I send him out into a nearby town so that he can kill the people there instead? Are you guys happy now?"

After Patricia had explained why she had unleashed one of the five spirits that were in their possession on the first year student, a lot of them had a lot to say about how flawed her plan was, but of course, Henry was the one who had done all the talking, as he was the only one amongst them who was brave enough to speak his mind to her.

"Bunch of pussies," she muttered under her breath, turning her back on them and heading towards her bathroom to take a shower. "Now, do you guys mind?" She asked, an irritated look plastered on her face.

__________

After receiving the instructors from the second year students, Marcus quickly ran towards the exit of the academy building, wanting to leave the compound and head towards the nearest city to the academy, if there was even one that was close to the academy in the first place.

The main reason for the academy being so far away from any form of residence was to ensure the safety of its students and whatever secrets they held to help them in case of a future war against the Shales.

"This power… it is driving me to do things I wouldn't normally do…"
