Sadie says, "Mother how could you."
Beth is instantly confused about what is going on. Seeing the shocked look on Sadie's face. She knows that there must be something that Sadie is seeing something that she herself is not.
Beth looked down at her dress and saw just what Sadie was seeing. Not only had she put the dress on inside out. Thinking that must have been why it was so hard to pull up, but it was on backward as well.
Beth's face flushed as she realized that everyone who had seen her walking with Deen had to have seen that the dress was inside out and backward. Beth thought that had to be why Stan had looked at her so strangely. Other than the fact that he realized that she had fucked Deen. But she didn't care who knew it now. To her, it had been worth it.
Beth takes a hard swallow and says, "This is Deen. He and a few of his friends will be protecting us." Beth couldn't help but blush as she looked up at him and said, "I will be right back."
Beth quickly left the room and made her way to the bathroom at the end of the hall. Before any of the other children could see her. She was thinking that she just needed a way to explain things to Sadie. Beth thought quickly as she pulled off her dress in the bathroom and washed up a little. It was not like she wanted herself to smell like a strange man while she was going to be around her kids.
As she turned the dress right side out this time making sure that it was on the correct way as she squeezed into it. The dress was still hard to pull up. It was like since she had pulled it off her body was swelling. Making each time she pulled it up it became harder to pull up.
As Beth looked in the mirror, she noticed that her makeup had been ruined. It was all smeared on her face from her encounter with Deen. Looking at her face Deen had done more than just get her off. He made her sweat, ruining her makeup. She should have known to look at herself before seeing the kids.
Beth wiped away her makeup making sure to fix her hair. She couldn't believe what shape she was in, but she had not seen what she looked like since the morning just before she had left. Beth thought as she cleaned up that she had never seen herself look this way before. Sure, Rodger and she had a few hot and heavy encounters, but it had never been anything like this. Not that she had worn that much makeup in her youth, but it was totally different now.
With trembling hands, Beth knew she had to come up with something to tell Sadie. But then again Beth had done as Rodger had asked her to by dressing sexy. She had gone and seen him and was fucked. Beth thought that she just needed to leave out the little part that it was not Rodger that fucked her. Beth knew that it should be an easy sell to Sadie that it was Rodger who had slept with her. Sadie wouldn't be thinking that it was anyone else anyway.
With that thought, Beth was able to calm herself down and finish cleaning up. Beth took a deep breath; she was unsure how she was going to feel looking at her kids. The sadness takes her a moment to think about everything that she and Rodger had. But the anger of what Rodger had done and was trying to do still burned brightly. Now she had to look into her kid's eyes and get over the fact that she no longer wanted Rodger in her life.
Beth knew that the oldest two at this point would not really care. They were ready to be on their own anyway.
If she could get Katie back, based on what Rodger had told her Katie had attacked him leaving his face a mess. Beth doubted that she would care very much if he was around. But the youngest three were a different subject altogether. Beth knew it was going to be difficult for the girls, they still really loved him and had no clue how bad he was. Beth took another deep breath as she thought about Allen, she knew that he was going to be devastated about him never coming back, but he had not really missed him all that much since he had gone off looking for Katie.
Beth wiped her eyes fighting off the sadness that she was starting to feel. She quickly pushed away the sadness and the guilt that she was feeling, knowing that what she was doing was what was better for her and the kids. She still had feelings for Rodger, and the two sides of her were now mostly conflicted with each other.
Beth took one last look to make sure that she wasn't missing anything and then headed back to the kids.
As she entered the room Sadie pulled her off to the side looking for answers. Beth knew that she couldn't sidestep the issue, so she said, "Well what did you expect? When your dad called me to the prison looking that way."
Sadie got a nasty look on her face thinking of her mom and dad doing things together.
Beth called to all the children and said quickly get your things together we are moving across the hall. We are even getting more room, so we won't be right on top of each other. She keeps glancing over at Deen not meaning to and looking away quickly once she realizes that she is looking at him.
Deen was standing there looking at the children not sure of just what to think. The children mostly look very young so taking care of them was going to be no issue except for the two oldest ones. The boy looked like he was trying to puff out his chest trying to look big but, in some ways, Deen could see that he was looking at him as someone that he wanted to impress. The girl looked like an angry teen but seemed like she had gotten an instant crush on him. So, she was now acting sugary sweet, hoping that he was going to take notice of her.
Deen thought out of all of them he was going to have the hardest time with the girl. He had seen the look of a crush in a girl's eyes before and knew that he had to play this right. She was just too young for him to do anything with, but if he said too much she would bolt leaving them to chase after her. Deen shook his head and thought that this might get harder for him than he had first thought. But the plus side of it was not going to be long before the trial was over, and they would be gone. Then things would go back to normal.
Beth helped them get the last of their things picked up so they could go across the hall. Beth opened the center room, and it was no bigger than the one that they had been staying in. Beth looked and saw the doors to the adjoining rooms she opened both doors and it was perfect each room was the same size each with big beds.
Beth smiles as she gives the one to the right to the boys. The one to the left to the girls. Leaving her to have the one in the middle thinking that they can pull a cot into it. So that the guards would at least have a place to lie if they wanted. But the whole time that Beth was thinking about it she was hoping that Deen would want to share her bed instead.
Beth's face flushed with the thoughts, but she made sure that she hid it from everyone. Especially Sadie, and Deen not wanting either of them to see her blushing.
Once Deen checks the rooms and learns where everyone is going to be he says, "I will return right after I am done at work for my shift. Just try and stay inside. So that they don't see where you are."
Beth says, "I have to go out and get food, and things. They already know I am staying in this hotel, but now they don't know what room."
Deen thought about it and nodded. He knew that they had not moved far, but that might work to their advantage. Because if they were following her, they would see that it was like she was going back to the same room. They would easily hear them breaking into the room across the hall.
Deen nods and says, "Okay I must go. As he walks away leaving them all standing there."
Beth smiles as she waves and blushes a little then quickly stops waving and hides that she was waving. Beth turned her attention to her kids and said, "We are going to be having a guard staying with us so that we are kept safe."
Beth thought about everything and knew that she didn't want to say too much. Not wanting them to be too afraid. She just wanted them aware enough that they wouldn't wander off with anyone. Not that they had not been told not to go off with strangers anyway.
Once the kids were set Beth decided that she was going to go out right away to do the task for the butcher and pick up the food for later. She had thought that she was going to do it on the way home from the prison, but walking home with Deen had changed that. Beth knew that she wouldn't really have to do the thing for the butcher now, but she liked the idea of the guys wanting her. At this point, she knew that the money and the food were there for the taking. Once they go back home, she knows that there is not going to be anyone going to be giving her food or money. so, she thought that she better get as much as she could while she could.
Beth had thought about waiting a while, but getting the food so that she had time to fix everything. She knew that Deen would be back around time for dinner to be done, it was just perfect. She also figured that the ones who would be looking for her would still be at the prison. At least till their day shift was over.
The kids all loved the fact that they now had 3 times the room to live in, giving the young ones a place to play. The boys liked the idea of having a regular bed to sleep in instead of just a hard cot. As soon as things were put in place and before Beth could leave Sadie pulled her aside. Sadie pulled her into a room to try and find out just what was going on, and how bad things were. Especially since now, they were getting a guard to look after them all the time.
Beth thought about this carefully out of all the children Sadie was the one who was most aware of what was going on around her and was in the most danger of being taken and used. Beth knew that she needed to know the most, but it was not like she wanted her to know everything.
Beth had her sit on the bed took her hand and said, "I am going to have to tell you some things that you are not going to want to hear, and might not believe. But I think you are old enough to hear them. It is for your protection that you hear it. I don't want to see anything happen to you. Especially because I didn't tell you what you needed to hear. You need to watch everything you do here, or you probably will be taken."
Sadie looked at her and was not sure what to think but her mom had never said anything like this to her before. Sadie looked at Beth to try and see just what was going on.
Beth saw her looking at her, and she looked so sweet and innocent. She was not sure just how she was going to take the news. Beth took a hard swallow as she tried to figure out just what and how to tell her. Sadie looked up into her eyes just waiting for her to start. Beth knew that she was just waiting for her to say what she had to say. At this point, Beth knew that she had to be honest with her, but she was hoping that she was not going to ask her any questions. Especially if they were going to be too hard for her to answer.
Beth took another hard swallow and started by saying, "Well you know how we had a guard come to drop off a note from your dad."
Sadie nodded, looking at her a little confused and remembering how she had looked different after talking to the guard. Sadie said nothing, just wanting Beth to continue at this point Sadie knew that there was some bad news in there she was just waiting to hear it.
Beth saw that she was just waiting and said, "You know that the letter asked me to dress this way, that is why I did it." Sadie nodded.
Beth looked down at her hands at this point. She really didn't want to tell her beautiful daughter how bad her father had gotten, but she knew that she couldn't hold it from her. With another hard swallow, Beth says, "I went into the prison and met with your father."
Beth looked down at her hands and said, "He gave me a list of things to do with different guards. So that he would be protected, and he would get some things that he wanted. As well as some of them were supposed to be giving us some money." Anger flashed in her eyes again as Beth thought about how little he thought about her and how little he thought she was worth now.
Sadie gasped as she realized just what her mother was telling her. Sadie shook her head thinking there was no way that someone could do that. As she thought about her dad and some of the things that she had seen him do. Sadie realized that it must be true. Even if she didn't want to think that he would do something like that to her mother.
Beth had tears running down her cheek. As she thought about how Rodger had thought she was so worthless. She thought that all the love that he had for her had to surely be gone now. In order for him to do something like that. Sadie started to cry seeing just how much pain her mom was going through. Sadie moved closer to her mom and they hugged as the tears came running down. Sadie loved her mom more than her dad because she just felt more love coming from her. In this moment she could see all the pain and sorrow that Beth had been hiding. Sadie started to feel bad for the way that she had been acting at times. Now she was going to make sure that she acted better, and she was going to try and help her with the others without complaining.
Beth held Sadie tight as she let the sadness and the pain wash over them both. Beth held onto Sadie, she had no one to hold or to cry on for so long. Beth felt bad that the one that was finally helping her was her daughter, it wasn't like she wanted her to know any of this, but the choice was out of her hands.
Sadie asked, "He really wanted you to have sex with them?"
Beth almost tried to protect his actions for a second. She was thinking that part of it was so that he was protected. But then the thoughts of him selling sex, and blowjobs for almost no money infuriated her and she said, "Yes, and even more."
Sadie wanted to ask exactly what he wanted her to do. Beth caught the look and said, "It's okay baby. You don't really want to know. Part of the things that they were asking for I have never heard of before, and there was no way I would go through with them even if I did."
Sadie got a confused look on her face, and Beth knew that she was thinking about it was the way her dress was inside out and backward. Knowing that the only thing that could have happened was her taking it off, and they both knew that she had nothing on under it.
Beth quickly changed the topic hoping that she wouldn't be questioned about how that happened. If she would then she really didn't know what she was going to tell her. After all, when someone does that to you it's not like you are going to fuck them. Maybe she would think that he had his way with her before he tried to whore, her out.
Beth said, "I wanted you to know. Since I didn't go through with the things that the guards wanted. That he had promised them that they would be looking for me. In order to get their payment out of me."
Taking Sadie's hand and holding it tightly Beth said, "Or they might try and get it out of you. I am sorry. I just couldn't let them use me like that. Now we are both in danger. So that is why we will be having guards around." Beth's face blushed momentarily as she thought about Deen again.
Sadie had noticed several times that she had blushed, and she started putting things together. Sadie asked, "You like that guard, don't you?"
Beth couldn't help but have her face flush. Beth tried to walk around the topic by saying how nice and strong he was, but her eyes told the story of how much she liked him already.
Sadie knew instantly that she liked him a lot more than she was trying to let on. As Sadie thinks back to the way that the guard looked, and the way that Rodger had always seemed to treat her. Not to mention how badly he talked about her even in front of her. Sadie understood and was surprised that she had put up with it as long as she did. Sadie figured that she was still there because of the kids.
Beth wipes away her own tears and takes a deep breath then wipes Sadie's cheeks wiping away the tears and says, "I won't be letting your father hurt me anymore. So no matter what happens with the trial things are over between us."
Sadie gasped at the sudden news. She was glad that her mom was doing it, but it still was a shock hearing her say it out loud. Sadie asked, "Are you going to tell all the others?"
Beth shook her head and said, "No, not all of them. Maybe Tommy just so that he can help guard the others, but I am not sure that I will even tell him now. I will probably wait till the trial is over, and we see what happens with your father."
Sadie nodded her head understanding why she didn't want others to know.
Beth put a hand to her cheek and said, "Keep an eye on the others for me. I need to do the job for the butcher, and get the food so we can make supper."
Sadie nodded without saying a word, going back with the others. She was still blown away by the news.
