He dodged the punch and used his leg to tackle Chief Yosen. Chief Yosen managed to avoid being tackled down and twisted around to send another blow.
He flipped back two times and ran back towards Chief Yosen. He dodged the incoming punches by bending his head back and using his hands to stand and kick Chief Yosen in the face.
Chief Yosen staggered a little, and he didn't let the chance go by making another attempt to attack. He adjusted his aura and delivered a punch towards Chief Yosen, but Chief Yosen defended himself by using his arm. Chief Yosen's forehead creased a little after receiving the punch, and he jumped backwards to form a distance.
Without waiting any seconds, they dashed towards each other. The fight occurred faster and faster each time. Each of them took some blows from their opponents. Chief Yosen staggered a little when Michaelis increased his aura before landing a blow.
Chief Yosen could feel the impact and the differences between each blow made by Michaelis. He subconsciously smiled at this improvement. Michaelis had managed to adjust his aura properly when fighting, and thus the crown prince also informed Chief Yosen about this by changing his aura flow every time he landed a blow without directly talking to him.
Truly an admirable kid. Michaelis didn't need to communicate directly with him, and he already knew that Michaelis had done a good job controlling his aura.
What he knew was that Michaelis always used a large flow of aura every time he trained with Tereni. Of course, Michaelis needed to use a large amount of aura to fight against the giant dryads. That's why adjusting to a small amount while already getting used to using a large amount of aura is something that needs to be learned.
Michaelis has proved his competency.
Chief Yosen ended the fight after he tackled Michelis on the ground and prevented any movement from the boy. Chief Gurina announced that the fight would be stopped.
Chief Yosen let Michaelis go and offered him a hand. Michaelis took the offer, and Chief Yosen pulled the kid to stand up.
"You are doing great, kid!"
He wiped the sweat from his face and smiled after he looked at Chief Gurina. She offered him and Chief Yosen water, and both of them gladly accepted it.
"You are a fast learner. I do not expect you to finish after just a week."
Chief Yosen voiced his thoughts.
"I was just using my imagination to learn about my aura."
Surprisingly or not, the aura was centred around a vast imagination. You just need imagination to create a powerful technique by using an aura.
Michaelis had used most of his understanding to manipulate his aura. He just turned to whatever he understood and had learned in his past life to understand more about aura control. It was easier when he correlated what he had learned with what he needed to do. He just needed to make sure that the correlation was producing a result.
If not, he just needs to find another correlation.
"Very well. Tereni also said about imagination, but you sure have more imagination than I had expected."
"I just read a lot of books."
He smiled.
"Good job. I am sure you will be fine, but make sure to practice when you go back."
"Yes, sir. Thank you for everything."
"Aww, is this really the last day for practice?"
Chief Gurina pouted.
"Unfortunately, Gurina. The crown prince needs to go back tomorrow. One month is already over."
Chief Gurina pursed her lips, feeling disappointed after only managing to spend time with this boy for a week. Michaelis also smiled weakly at the thought of leaving here tomorrow. One month is not that long, but he has done many things within that time frame.
"We will sure meet again. You don't need to feel too disappointed."
"I know, I know. Don't forget about me, little crown prince."
"I will never forget your kindness."
They ended the training that day. That day also concluded everything for aura training.
That night, they are having a celebration again. But this time, it is a farewell celebration for him.
They are having fun, but at the same time, they also feel sad about his departure tomorrow morning. They also wished for him to come back to the Forest of Miracles when he had the time, and he promised them to do so.
But he knew it would be a bit difficult after he enrolled in the academy. Maybe if he acquired some teleportation stones from his father, he could at least come here once in a while. Well, let's just wait for the future.
"Please stay! I don't want you to go!"
"I want to play with you more!"
"True. Why not stay longer?"
Some kids who have become attached to him keep clinging to him and never let him go. He tried to reassure them that he would be back, but they were not convinced at all. The elf kids hugged him, the nymph kids pulled his hands, and the fairy kids flew around him or landed on his head.
"Hey, kids. Don't do that to the crown prince. He also has his own responsibilities, so he needs to go home. The crown prince already said he would come back, right?"
Maya came to solve this tiny problem.
"But—"
"When will we see each other again?"
Maya smiled.
"That may take a while. But the crown prince already promised you, and if he breaks that promise, you know what will happen, right?"
The kids looked at each other before they looked at him.
"Yes! You will need to eat 1,000 needles if you break the promise!"
"Hn, that's right! Mommy said it was painful!"
"True true!"
"So, Your Highness, don't break your promise to these lovely kids, okay?"
Michaelis looked at Maya and squinted his eyes.
"Yes, I won't break my promise. If not, I need to eat 1,000 needles."
The kids cheered. He didn't know they cheered because he would surely come back or because he promised he would eat 1,000 needles if he broke his promise.
These kids are quite vicious.
"Alright kids, go play somewhere else. Give some space to the crown prince to eat and rest too."
"Okay!"
"Bye-bye, crown prince!"
"Don't sleep yet, okay?"
All the kids, whom he didn't even count, began to run to who knows where. Playing again. They are full of energy, which somehow reminded him of Rezal. No, he didn't miss Rezal at all. That pink-haired kid is still grounded anyway.
"Here, you still have not tried my lamb grill."
"You are the one who grilled this?"
"Yep. By using these hands."
Maya flexed her hands in front of him. He formed a lopsided smile. Michaelis took a bite and savoured the taste. It is tasty; the meat melts in his mouth. The meat was also cooked well.
"At least you know how to cook, but don't teach anyone to cook."
"My teaching skill is not that bad. You are cruel, Michaelis. Kept reminding me of that."
Maya crossed her arms. She was quite annoyed by the same teasing.
"Well, what can I say? Everyone has their highs and lows in life. Maybe you would become a great teacher if you learned more about how to explain properly."
"I sure will, and you will take back your words."
"Let's see then."
He kept putting another piece into his mouth while his eyes watched the happy atmosphere.
"It has been a month."
Maya broke the silence.
"Yeah."
"We won't be meeting every day after this."
"Hm, yeah. Are you sad?"
He teased but did not expect an honest answer.
"Yes."
Maya looked at him.
"It was just a short time, but you have become my friend, and I'll treasure every moment I've spent with you. You have your own duty to take care of, and so do I. I would become lonely, though. There's no one to talk to when I am having lunch anymore."
When he thinks about it again, he never saw Maya with anyone else around her age that much. He would not say that she has a strained relationship with the other kids. He saw that sometimes Maya talks with kids and even laughs. But that's not a common occurrence.
What he knew was that she was always busy doing something else, maybe studying or doing some task asked by the chief. Maya is the only one who looks so close to the three chiefs. Maybe it is because she is the only successor that has been chosen this early. From what he knew, no other nymph or fairy heir had been chosen.
"You can have lunch with the other kids your age."
"Of course I can, but,"
Maya pursed her lips.
"They would not be the same when I'm with you. Maybe I have become so familiar with you that I feel strange eating lunch without you."
"Well."
He looked up.
"You need to get used to my absence then. Everything will change, whether you like it or not."
"That's true. It's silly of me to complain like this. You need to hear such a thing from me when you should be enjoying your farewell celebration."
"It's fine. I'm glad you told me. We are friends after all."
He formed a languid smile and glanced at her.
"Of course. I'll be missing you, Michaelis."
He blinked his eyes. Then he smiled with a sunken gaze.
"Yeah."
