Bragi got home in time to escape a scolding from his mum because he was in no mood for scolding that particular day, he laid the egg on table inside his bedroom then went ahead to have his dinner, you wrapped the egg in a little cloth although it was still glowing through the light cloth but the torch inside the room dimly-lit the area so it was easy for his brain to ignore it, she went to sleep and thought nothing more about it.
" Bragi, go and get the hides i told you from Nadia "
His mum yelled at she threw a cup of water in his face. A a particular tactic his mum employed that was hundred percent successful in waking him every single time.
He groaned as he got up trying to stretch
" Alright ma "
"Your father is getting back by noon today, make sure you're around then" she stated.
" Yes Ma "
is that I've been on a 3-day trip to the neighbouring village in order to prepare some stuff for the farm. Oh did he love the conversations he had with his father. He got up and put his clothes on when he suddenly remembered about the egg, he walked towards the table and lift the cloth he place on the egg. it didn't have the particular lustre it had the night before, in fact it almost seemed boring.
He didn't believe her to see that woman's face again today, he shrugged a bit and proceeded to leave the house and headed to the trade center.
His dad walked in through the door, A true gentle Giant was six feet 4 inches tall , had a very muscular build a full beard that covered almost half of his beards, his hair dark his moustache full and the color of his eyes were similar but his had a much darker hue.
Loki his father was a man of few words but would spend a lot of his time talking and educating him and his brother Kare about life, work, he would tell them stories about powerful witches and wizards about old tales and also historical battles. It was just a delight to be in his father's presence and the entire town would agree with him on that statement.
He stood for a lot of things just as he stood tall, he was a traditional man who believed in family, work and protecting and caring for the people around him.
"How are you doing son" with the most deep and crisp voice ever, as they both embraced each other
" Darling" He nodded acknowledging his wife
" where is Kore? "
" He should be getting here anytime soon, I sent him to fetch some ale right after his lesson" she replied
" Oh darling, you shouldn't have " he let out a smile out the corner of his mouth.
" How was your trip? Father " Bragi asked
" Oh my boy it was the usual, nothing interesting happened this particular time " His father replied
" Bragi let your father rest, he just got back "
his mother yelled
Bragi helped take his father's belongings into the room, a bit annoyed he couldn't pick his fathers brain right away, but they'll talk later in the evening anyway.
He went back to his room, he particularly had nothing else to do for the rest of the day when he suddenly remembered the strange egg he got from the cave. He went over to his table and pick the egg up then took it outside.
He spent the next hour trying to figure out what was inside of egg, he had a hunch it was a dragon egg but he kept telling himself to stop imagining such nonsense, he did everything in his power to crack the strange object open but Nothing!!
He soon gave up on it, returned it back to his table and went to have lunch he came back to his room later at night to rest and prepare for the next day. He was laying on his bed just reliving the conversations he & Kore had with his brother earlier that evening. He was talking to them about responsibilities even ones we didn't bring upon ourselves or the ones that are the easiest to ignore.
" if you find yourself in a position where you have to take care of things you know deep inside you really don't have, you should go ahead and still take responsibility for it." He said
He cleared his throat briefly
" Because you have to think, if I don't take care of this who would?
He looked towards his table and noticed that neon glow.
" What a strange object"
He thought to himself
He thought nothing more of it and went to sleep
it must have been around 3 a.m. in the morning when he heard the noise, He woke up suddenly to find out his room was fully lit of neon green. he looked to his table and found out a lot of the light in the room came from the object that was on his table.
He immediately jumped out of bed, then rushed over to his table you found out the cracks on the eggs are not more prominent and much wider than the previously observed.
" No way "
He said to himself out loud.
he tried so hard to tell himself that's not what was happening, but it was actually the case.
" The egg is hatching "
up until that point he hadn't given much thought to what could actually be inside the egg because He was under the assumption that the egg was lifeless, who knew how long it could have been inside the cave and it was general knowledge that eggs needed some form of incubation in order to hatch or survive.
" Oh this cannot be happening "
he muttered to himself in disbelief.
but there was no point in freaking out right now, he needed to find something to do immediately about this egg or whatever it is.
he launched into his armoire, and grabbed all the pieces of cloths he could find. he wrapped the egg entirely in such a way that there was barely any light emitting from the egg, then tried his best to put the ordeal behind him and get some sleep he would tackle this early in the morning.
