Bragi could barely get any sleep, who would blame him. mysterious things like this barely happened in this town and there was no explaining it to experience because it didn't make any sense I hadn't told them of the object he brought into the House knowing he shouldn't have in the first place.
This time he had hidden the wrapped egg behind the box under his table. he waited till he do this morning chores that day, help this father out on the farm. by the time he was done it was already noon.
he took the wrapped egg out to his backyard, set it down carefully, He discovered compared to earlier that morning the cracks were more prominent and wider. it seemed to have lost most of the neon glow or maybe just because he was inside the day light
He was trying to peep inside the egg to see if he's actually had any form of life in it, He decided to carry a pointed rock and chip some of the already cracked parts of the egg. the shell of the egg was surprisingly tough to crack, but he did manage to chip some off, some slimy stuff came out and it was difficult to see the inside of the egg but it did look scaly.
The little part that was exposed glistening inside the sun, he definitely knew this earth couldn't following back into his room. he you decided to keep the egg in the chicken coop since they had no chickens at the moment.
" Oh dear what the hell am I doing? "
He thought to himself.
" Bragi, go and get some wood for dinner "
His mum yelled from inside the house.
" what is it you are doing out there anyway "
She asked, but Bragi knew it was rhetorical so he didn't reply
He just went ahead and fetched some wood for his mother. It just kept ringing in his head
" What have I gotten myself into? "
The one thing he was hoping for on his way back home, was nothing major had happened or his mother had discovered anything. or nothing else strange had come out of the egg.
His mind was just in complete turmoil, that's when he saw her and all of a sudden everything around him seemed to freeze. there she was young, tall, tan and lovely. Frigg the most beautiful girl from Gyotre and he wasn't going to hear anything different. First it had to be her bright blue eyes which reminded him so much of his mothers, she had shoulder length hair of plain blonde shades which always reminded him of the snow her lips full, symmetrical and a luscious pout.
He always wondered what it would be like to be loved and embraced by a woman like that.
" oh the thought of her does things to me " he thought to himself in silence.
she was with a couple of her girlfriends and every single time Bragi walked by he always found himself staring at her, but she doesn't see or even notice him. she had her back turned to him from the distance he was staring at her from , he started to see her face moving towards his direction he mediately averted his gaze and went on his way home.
" That was close " He thought to himself.
Frigg's looked at his direction and saw Bragi wasn't looking towards her direction. she felt a little disappointment he didn't notice her. she let out a little smile and went her way.
immediately Bragi dropped off the pieces of wood for his mum to make a fire, he ran back to the chicken coop to see if nothing out of the ordinary had happened.
The egg was in the same condition as he had left it, He let out a sigh of relief, He continued with his night and he did some other things necessary for him to do for the rest of that day but some part of him did feel something was about to happen with that egg he just couldn't put his finger on it.
When it's time for him to go to bed, he just couldn't get his mind off that chicken coop. There was something telling him to just go and check it out, but he was wise enough to know if he didn't get it off his mind now his mind wouldn't be at rest till morning so he decided to just ignore that part of his brain telling him to go and check the chicken coop out.
He woke up the next morning feeling tired He was tossing and turning all night and could barely get any good sleep, He's first instincts before doing any other thing that morning was to go and check the chicken coop out and he saw the one thing he wish the most not to see at that moment.
The egg was all the way cracked, at first he didn't see anything inside the chicken coop aside from the cracked open egg, A wave of uneasiness flowed through his body from his head down to his toes and it instantly made him sick to the stomach, his mind was running multiple scenarios at the same time and his brain couldn't process anything properly.
" where is it? well where is what? " he asked himself
" what creature came out of this egg? most especially where is the creature right now?
" has he put himself and his family in danger? is anybody around safe? "
He was asking hundreds of questions every second, he then heard what sounded like a little squeak maybe his mind was just playing tricks on him. Then out of the corner of the coop a shadowy figure emerged, he felt his knees give away and soon met his buttocks with the ground.
He was still on the floor, when the little creature slowly stretched it's thin neck out. Bragi was terrified he wanted to scream but the last thing he wanted at that moment was to call any sort of attention towards himself.
