"Let's not waste any more time and get right into it… Juan Swagger is up to serve first!" Juan tosses the ball, slamming it over the net. Ajax smirks and perfectly receives the ball. Kurai sets the ball right, Lucas running up, slamming his feet onto the court and flying. Slamming the ball on the blocker's fingers.
"One touch!" Skylar runs back and hits the ball before it goes out of bounds. Tom runs up and quickly sets the ball to Bryson, full strength swinging his hand into the ball as it lands behind him.
"Huh?" Bryson lands and looks at Dougals immense presence.
"Insane, he moved so fast I didn't see him!" The crowd goes crazy.
"The first rally is already insane! What an amazing block by Dougal Wilson!"
"The score now stands at 1 to 0 in favor of LakeWood Technical!"
Lucas tosses the ball high and runs forward, slamming the ball over the net at high speeds. Reece leaning to the right and bringing the ball up, Lucas and Reece lock eyes. Tom sets the ball high to Bryson again, Xavier jumps up to block. But Bryson hits it past him. Ajax dives and gets the ball up again.
"Dougal!" Dougal runs up to the net.
Ajax tosses the ball straight up.
"When setting, try forming a triangle with your thumbs and pointer fingers… as soon as the ball touches your hands, just push it away!" Ajax overhand sets the ball, but not setting it properly the second time.
"Just remember that triangle, and everything else should come naturally!" Ajax smiles brightly at Dougal.
Dougal jumps up at the net. Kurai, Lucas, and Coach Russ were shocked. Dougal nearly perfectly set the ball high.
"These freshmen… keep getting better" Lucas smirks and runs up. Jumping into the air as a block appears. Slamming the ball at an angle past the block and onto the court, Reece dived for the ball but missed. LWTHS 2-0 MVHS.
"Dougal Wilson! LakeWood Technicals Middle blocker last second sets the ball!"
Kurai walks over to Dougal.
"Nice set" Dougal nods with a smile feeling accomplished. 'With this new ability… I'm not just a blocker, but a force to be reckoned with!'
Lucas jumps and serves the ball as Tom overhand receives it. 'A floater with speed!?'
"Bryson!" Bryson runs up to the net and sets the ball. Skylar runs up and jumps to spike as the ball appears behind him on the court. He'd blocked them again.
"DOUGAL WILSON! THE IMMOVABLE FORTRESS!!!"
"The score gap is getting bigger and bigger! Now it's 3-0!"
Lucas tosses the ball. 'Eric… my rival and friend… watch me… as I continue to improve even as a Senior!' Lucas runs up and jumps high, swinging his hand all the way back, slamming it into and warping the ball as it hits the court. Exhaling as his eyes glow. 'I'm always growing… what about you!?'
"An Ace for the team captain! LakeWoods strength is immeasurable even when they've lost some players!"
Eric watches with the rest of Mason County in a near empty classroom as the match plays out live.
"Even when you're weak and short some players… they're still growing better…" Derek glares at the live volleyball match.
"They've outplayed us… once again"
