Under the darkness of night, Ren silently got up. Confirming that everyone was asleep, Ren sneaked out of his sleeping bag. Although the dim moonlight couldn't penetrate the darkness, Ren moved with confidence. This has become a routine for him these days, him sneaking out at night to hunt. Well, it couldn't be helped, Elios attacked any moving creature during the day.
'King, Where did you say it was?'
As Ren silently ran through the dark forest, a pair of glowing blue eyes pierced through the darkness. It made sense really, King was a big cat, so night vision was a given. Ren stopped in the middle of a clearing, the dense trees gave way to the soft moonlight, letting Ren see with his human eyes.
'Left, I sense something strong today.'
Ren's eyes brightened, excited at the prospects of a stronger opponent. While safer fights are good, they yield almost no soul power. Ren warmed up by stretching, then shape shifted into a fly. *Bzzzzzz* Ren steadily flew left, until he saw his opponent for the night.
'King, is that it?'
Ren stopped mid air, staring in surprise at his target. There in the dense forest, a small campfire lit the surroundings. The fire flickered wildly, casting the shadow of a gigantic man onto the trees. The man sitting there alone was muscular to an uncomfortable degree, his shaved head reflected the light from the campfire.
'That's him, he's a mutant.'
King and Ren stared down the muscular man, figuring out their plan of attack. The man seemed to be strength focused, so King and Ren decided to start with a sneak attack. *Bzzzzz* While advancing towards the man, Ren tried to mimic the flight patterns of a normal fly. As Ren got closer and closer, the bald man continued to feed his fire, cooking his meal.
'He hasn't noticed us yet, so his mana sensitivity isn't strong.'
Ren continued to make his way slowly towards the man, trying to appear as natural as possible. As Ren got closer, he got a closer look at the campfire too.
'Is that...?'
On a stick over the fire was a hand, a skinned human hand. Ren immediately felt his stomach churn, feeling the urge to throw up. King looked at the human hand, feeling sick to his stomach as well. Although he was a mutant beast, even his mindless minions didn't eat their own. This was unnecessary, food was abundant in this stage of the collapse, so why?
'King, give me 100%.'
After calming his stomach and mind, Ren felt a sense of duty, the duty to exterminate this monster. King readily agreed, lending all his power to Ren. As a white aura surrounds Ren's fly form, Ren beelined for the man.
*BZZZZZ!!!* Flying as fast as he could, Ren flew above the trees, transforming back into a human. *Fwoosh!* 20 meters in the air, Ren descended rapidly towards the unsuspecting man.
"Huuuuu...."
Ren breathed in, a slight golden aura covered his body like armour. *FWOOOOSH!* As Ren accelerated faster and faster, he readied himself for a kick. Just as Ren came within 5 meters of the man, the man's head snapped up with unbelievable speed.
"FOOD!"
*Crunch* As the man uttered his word, Ren reached him, caving his face in. *Crack* Ren followed through, only stopping until he heard something break beneath his feet. *Fwump* As the man fell backwards, Ren gained his footing on solid ground once more. Feeling immense satisfaction at his sneak attack, Ren felt proud of himself. He was less excited to absorb this soul, but he had to do it. Just as Ren informed King to start the absorption, Ren sensed movement behind him.
*Fwip!* Ren turned his head around, only to find the man missing from the ground.
"I swear I felt his skull crack, is he even human?"
Ren raised his awareness and began sensing around, trying to find the giant of a man. Given his size and mana, it didn't take long to find him. Ren turned around, staring directly at the giant man hiding on a tree.
"Come on Hannibal Lector, you think hiding works for you?"
As Ren taunted him, the cannibals face contorted in anger. *BOOM!* *Crack.* As the cannibal kicked off the tree, the force of his jump broke the tree in half.
"DIE!!!!"
The cannibals voice rang loudly, drowning out all sound. Ren saw the rapidly approaching giant with a calm face, not a hint of fear present. Ren held his arms up, lowered his stance, and activated the reversal technique.
"Huuuu..."
A thin golden aura covered Ren, before gathering towards Ren's raised arms. As the white and gold aura melded together, they formed into a pair of white and gold gauntlets. *BOOM!* The cannibal crashed into Ren's arms at full speed, his fist made direct contact with Ren.
"Hehehe, more dinner..."
As the cannibal got up in the cloud of dust, he patted himself clean. He felt like he got incredibly lucky this time, that pretty boy was someone who could beat him. However, the dumbass decided to guard against his all out attack. No one has survived this move, no humans, no mutants.
"Hm?"
As the dust settled, The cannibal got a better look at his surroundings. This caused him to feel confused, why was he still at camp? He thought he would blast out of the camp, but he only moved a few meters from where that pretty boy was standing. As he looked around in confusion, he felt a splitting headache, while blood trickled down the side of his face. The cannibal felt alarm bells go off in his head, he hasn't sustained a serious injury ever since Belphegor gave him power.
"Nice hit."
The cannibal turned around as face as he could, fear gripped his heart when he recognized that voice.
"How are you alive?"
When the cannibal finally found Ren, he could only see half of his body, as the rest was shrouded in darkness. The cannibal couldn't move, as Ren walked closer and closer, a sinister red aura covered his fist.
"Goodbye, have fun in hell."
*WOOSH!* Ren punched out with the reversal technique, his fist bursting with power. *CRACK!* *CRACKABOOOM!*
