Since the Cerberus Officers were already in front of him, Duke decided to inform them about the military structure he planned to construct. It took some time, but the Officers swiftly understood his thoughts. However, they also gave their opinions regarding his plans.
"Director, I believe the Cerberus Military also needs a mechanized division." An Officer wanted the existence of the mechanized division to be established. After all, they were the ground support of the army.
"I agree with him, Director. We also need some aircraft for the same reason as him. The ground is enraptured with multiple limits, unlike the free skies." Another Officer wanted more aircraft for the military.
"An intelligence division should also be established, Director. It is of importance to have intelligence in this Dark Cataclysmic Era." One of them also proposed the intelligence division for intelligence and counter-intelligence.
The opinions of the Officers made sense. It made Duke's vision of the Cerberus Military clearer than ever before. He understood the importance of each of their thoughts. Whether it be a ground support, air support, or intelligence division. They were needed for the Cerberus.
After thinking for some time, Duke accepted their thoughts and kept them in mind. Although, he couldn't afford their opinions at the moment. That doesn't mean that his wallet will stay empty in the future.
"Your opinions are valuable. I'm grateful for your thoughts, my Officers." He unconsciously praised them. It made the Officers bow their heads deeper, with pride apparent on their faces. It was an honor to be praised by the lord, the Director of Cerberus.
"I will rely on you to inform your subordinates of the new structure. I'm sure Aurora is gathering them together, so make do with briefing them." Duke uttered with a smile, and the Officers bowed even more intensely. They didn't dare to gaze upon the smile of their Director.
It was too much for them.
"Well, then. We will be taking our leave, Director." One of the Officers nodded and left the tent. The remaining Officers followed him, and Duke found himself alone. Silence encapsulated him as his gaze penetrated through the entrance's fabric.
His sapphire-like irises looked at Aurora, who was working hard to manage the entirety of his army. He wanted to aid her command of the newly-arriver personnel, but he stopped himself. There were more things he needed to do. Specifically, the new vehicles he had gained.
To have his army at full potential was to construct or buy vehicles from the Doomsday Mall. And Duke had high standards for his army. Even though expensive, he wanted his platoons to have the best they could get. But before doing so, he needed to learn more about the vehicles.
"I can already feel my wallet crying once again." Duke quietly muttered while shaking his head. Becoming poor was always a problem for the Director of Cerberus. However, there was no way for him to avoid it. For the sake of Cerberus, his wallet be damned.
Duke opened the Doomsday Mall with a thought. In an instant, a digital display of the mall materialized before his vision. He then glances at the digital panel with scrutiny. After inspecting it, a relieved smile emerged on his face.
Fortunately for Duke, the achievement record took the brunt of his unit expenses.

"Luckily, I'm not as poor as I previously thought." He mumbled with satisfaction in his tone. Having 6043 Source Points was a piece of good news for the Director. With this amount of wealth, the acquisition of new vehicles shouldn't be much of a problem.
Duke then calmly opened the vehicle tab. The Doomsday Mall digital panel faded as another digital display materialized to replace it. The vehicle's tab was a long list of armored vehicles he had recently unlocked. And there were quite a lot of them.
➤| H10 Armored Truck(Military): The Heavy 10 Armored Truck is an 8x8 heavy high-mobility truck produced by the Cerberus. It is a heavy tactical vehicle that is rapidly deployable and is designed to operate in any climatic conditions. The truck is heavily armored with reinforced metal plating and mounted by level-10 bulletproof glass. The armored truck is issued with an adjustable container capable of resisting over 120mm rounds of APFSD ammunition. It has a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour. Following it is an operating range of 500 kilometers. The truck can carry a worthy load of 7 tons and has an operational limit of 32 people. (Cost: 150 Source Points[50% Discount]) |
The first vehicle was the gorgeous H10 Armored Truck. Its price was the lowest of his expectations, about 150 Source Points with a 50% Discount. The original price it has should be 300 Source Points. He was satisfied with this price, even more so with the 50% Discount's price.
➤| H20 Transport Truck(Military): The Heavy 20 Transport Truck is an 8x8 heavy transport truck of the Cerberus Armed Forces. It is a heavily armored transport and tactical vehicle. It has the capability of transporting supplies inside the battlefield or enemy lines. The transport truck is clad in thick reinforced metal plating. It has no windows or openings, making it a mobile iron fortress. It is also issued with two adjustable containers that could resist rounds of over 200mm APFSD ammunition. The top speed of the transport truck is 100 kilometers per hour. It has an operating range of 1,000 kilometers in full fuel capacity. The transport truck can carry a load of 20 tons and has an operational limit of 50 people. (Cost: 200 Source Points[50% Discount]) |
The second vehicle was a second variant of the H Truck series. The H20 Transport Truck. From its description, it was bigger than the H10 and slower. Its defensive capabilities were the best. The price of such a truck was 200 Source Points. In its original, it should be 400 Source Points.
Somewhat expensive, but not too expensive.
'These trucks can help me with a lot of things.' Duke thought while staring at the detailed information of the H20 Transport Struck inscribed on the digital display. After a couple of seconds, he continued to the next vehicle.
➤| Panther APC(Military): The Panther Armored Personnel Carrier is an 8x8 -high-mobility armored personnel carrier of the Cerberus. It is heavily armed for urban warfare and can easily deploy troops into the warzone. The APC is armored with thick reinforced metal plating with level-12 bulletproof glass. It is also mounted with an armored heavy EM 20mm automatic cannon clad with two missile launchers. The Panther is equipped with dozens of grenade launchers facing forward and sideward. The operating range of the APC was 500 kilometers, with a top speed of 120 kilometers per hour. It can be loaded with 4 tons of weight and has an operational limit of 14 people, including the drivers. (Cost: 150 Source Points[50% Discount]) |
The third in the vehicle's tab was the Panther APC. It appeared to be a large armored personnel carrier and a powerful one at that. One can consider it a better and more complicated Vanguard. It has an original price of 300 Source Points, which wasn't bad.
Perhaps even cheaper than its complete worth.
"Quite powerful... And cheap. Hmm..." Duke mumbled while being in deep thought. While reading the detailed information about the vehicles, he was already deciding what to buy and how many of them he needed in the current military of Cerberus.
However, before entirely deciding, he needed to continue in his examinations of armored vehicles.
➤| Hammer IFV(Military): The Hammer Infantry Fighting Vehicle was the bulk of the Cerberus's ground support. Undefeated in urban warfare, no amount of ambushes and fortifications can stop the hammer of Cerberus. The infantry fighting vehicle is heavily armored with no openings. It has a reinforced-armored turret where the automated 40mm EM cannon is mounted. The IFV also has an EM 50. caliber turret remotely controlled by an operator. The turret also has a strapped-on electronic-guided searchlight with two grenade launchers. The Hammer Infantry Fighting Vehicle has an operating range of 800 kilometers with a top speed of 110 kilometers per hour. It has an operational limit of 6 people, all of which are part of the crew. (Cost: 250 Source Points[50% Discount]) |
What followed the strong Panther APC was the Hammer IFV. If one would wish for a word to describe it, it was beast. In the newly-gained vehicles of the Cerberus, it was the strongest. Because of the vehicle's strength, one of them originally cost 500 Source Points.
But upon reading its detailed description, Duke thought of a way to acquire it without hurting too much of his wallet. In its form, 10 Hammer IFVs' would cost 2,500 Source Points. That was almost half his current wealth.
Obviously... He would be bankrupt before fully equipping his army if he planned to buy the IFV. However, he wouldn't have to spend any of his source points if he got them through the Free 10x Vehicle. These were his thoughts about the Hammer IFV.
With an opportunity to get it for free, it would be foolish not to take it.
After checking through the entirety of the vehicle military options, it was time for Duke to start purchasing the armored vehicles needed by his subordinates.
| The Director has purchased 16x HMMWV Vanguard(Military), 8x H10 Armored Truck(Military), 2x H20 Transport Truck(Military), and 10x Panther APC(Military) with the price of 4,700 Source Points(50% Discount!) |
Duke's wallet took a punch in the gut since it practically lost over two-thirds of its original wealth. He expected it to be expensive. But he never thought it would be this expensive! It already costs more than the two companies worth of units he recently bought from the Doomsday Mall.
"But this isn't the end yet. It is merely the beginning." He gritted his teeth and continued on. He must activate his trump card!
| Does the Director wish to activate the Free 10x Vehicle? (Yes/No) |
'Yes...' With a simple thought, the digital display disappeared, and what replaced it was another one that glowed in a lustrous glimmer.
| Free 10x Vehicle Activated! |
| What Vehicle does the Director desire? |
In mere moments, Duke uttered his response to the digital display before him. There was no time to waste. What his army needed must be acquired!
'Hammer IFVs!'
| The vehicle Hammer IFV has been detected! |
| Acquired 10x Hammer IFV from the Doomsday Mall... |
| The acquisition is a success! |
|The Director has gained 10x Hammer IFV! |
The final digital display was the assurance of the poor Director. Gaining the capable Hammer IFV was an achievement. After the acquisition concluded, he started thinking of ways to attune the armored vehicles and the two companies of soldiers under his command.
"If my thoughts are correct. An Assault Platoon should have two Vanguards in the front and rear. Following the front Vanguard would be the Panther APC. Then, the Hammer IFV. In front of the rear Vanguard would be the H10 Armored Truck."
"Under these lines of thought, an assault platoon will have 2x Vanguard, 1x Panther APC, 1x Hammer IFV, and 1x H10 Armored Truck."
"On the other hand, the support platoon will have the same placements with the difference of having an H20 Transport Truck behind the H10. This would result in the platoon having 2x Vanguard, 1x Panther APC, 1x Hammer IFV, 1x H10 Armored Truck, 1x H20 Transport Truck."
"So... The military vehicles I have should be enough for now." Duke nodded to himself with confidence in his gaze.
Meanwhile, numerous lustrous lights shone throughout the interior of the southern shelter. When the brilliant lights faded, what replaced them was the cold jet-black steel of armored vehicles. It was quite a sight to see the menacing military vehicles. Especially when parked beside two companies of soldiers.
Aurora, who was busy managing the logistics of the newly formed armed forces, felt a headache upon seeing the summoning of various military vehicles. But it was soon replaced with a smile, a scary smile at that.
