Chereads / Haunted Heart Of The Heiress / Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Chapter 10 - Chapter 10

Adrienne looked absolutely stunning in her glamorous after-party dress. The floor-length gown hugged her figure, boasting a striking shade of midnight blue. Intricate silver embellishments adorned the fabric, shimmering and catching the light, adding an extra touch of elegance and sophistication. The dress boasted a plunging neckline that accentuated Adrienne's curves, and a thigh-high slit that revealed just the right amount of leg, exuding confidence and allure.

Her makeup was flawlessly executed, enhancing her natural beauty. Adrienne's eyes were adorned with a smoky eyeshadow in deep plum and charcoal shades, making her piercing green eyes appear even more captivating. Long, voluminous lashes framed her eyes, adding a touch of drama. Her sculpted cheekbones were gently dusted with warm blush, giving her complexion a healthy glow. The stunning red lipstick completed her glamorous look.

Adrienne's choice of heels perfectly complemented her ensemble. She wore sparkling silver stilettos adorned with delicate crystals, resembling the stars in the night sky. The heels added an extra boost of confidence to her stride, making her feel like she was walking on air.

Seated in the back seat of the sleek black luxury car, Adrienne leaned comfortably against the plush leather seat, her dress gracefully flowing around her. Soft music played in the background as the car glided through the city streets, illuminating the passing buildings. The night air was filled with excitement and anticipation as Adrienne and Daniel exchanged occasional smiles.

Approaching the hotel where the after-party was taking place, the entire building seemed to glow with colorful lights, faintly pulsating music filling the air. The valet opened the car door with a respectful nod, and Adrienne gracefully stepped out, her dress swaying with each elegant movement. Cameras flashed, capturing the dazzling couple as they stepped onto the red carpet, their presence further elevating the already star-studded event.

Adrienne and Daniel seamlessly blend into the vibrant atmosphere, warmly greeted by familiar faces and surrounded by a crowd of fashionable and influential individuals. Hand in hand, they enter the hotel, ready for a night that promises to be extraordinary.

As Daniel releases Adrienne's hand, he moves to greet and engage with acquaintances in the hall. Meanwhile, Adrienne sits at her table, savoring her champagne but feeling a tinge of boredom. Without her phone, she lacks companionship.

"You truly deserved that award," a gentleman remarks, taking a seat beside Adrienne. She looks up, surprised to see it's Ryan.

"Hello," Adrienne greets him.

"Your skin looks flawless," compliments Ryan.

"Well, it should. I create the best moisturizers," Adrienne proudly proclaims.

"It's refreshing to see you without a mask," Ryan smiles.

"Do we know each other?" Adrienne playfully feigns ignorance.

"Adrienne, right?" Ryan recalls.

"Yes, I am Adrienne. And you are?" she asks, though familiar with his identity.

"We've crossed paths twice before. Each time, you wore a mask and a cap. But when I caught a glimpse of your radiant and captivating eyes, I knew they were unforgettable. Watching you ascend the stage to accept your awards, I instantly recognized you as the person who left unanswered questions in my heart just a few days ago. My memory of you is crystal clear," Ryan confesses to Adrienne.

"Wow, you have quite the memory," Adrienne commented, finally dropping the act.

"You are absolutely stunning, I wouldn't mind if I dropped dead right now. Seriously, mind-blowing and breathtaking! You are absolutely stunning," Ryan stammered, completely taken aback by her beauty.

"Well, Ryan, it seems like my looks have the power to stop hearts. Should I be worried?" Adrienne teased playfully, a smirk on her face.

"No need to worry, just give me a heads up next time you plan on casting your beauty spell on me!" Ryan replied with a smile.

"But honestly, the world could use more moments like this that make your heart skip a beat," Ryan added, and they both burst into laughter.

"So, who did you come here with?" Adrienne asked curiously.

"Oh, I just came with a partner," Ryan replied casually.

"The lady in red?" Adrienne questioned, making a subtle gesture towards the woman standing a few meters behind Ryan and Adrienne's table. It was Juliette.

She was wearing a stunning red dress, exuding elegance and sensuality. The low-cut neckline showcased her graceful curves, while the flowing silk fabric draped over her body, creating a captivating silhouette. The vibrant red shade perfectly complemented her radiant complexion, and the delicate crystal embellishments glistened under the lights, adding a magical touch to her ensemble.

"She has been discreetly watching me since you joined me here, stealing glances at you," Adrienne remarked.

"If I may ask, who is she?" Adrienne inquired politely.

"We arrived together. We're together," Ryan responded.

"You're quite clever. Dodging the main question I asked," Adrienne said, eyebrows slightly raised.

"I did answer. I said we're together," Ryan defended.

"I asked 'Who is she?' but it's fine if you don't want to answer. I just didn't appreciate her stares," Adrienne explained to Ryan.

"What about you? I saw you enter with a young handsome man. Who is he to you?" Ryan asked bluntly.

"He is my husband," Adrienne revealed.

"You're married? Like... seriously?" Ryan was taken aback.

"Yes, he's the only man who has won my heart," she confessed.

"I suppose I should step back then," Ryan conceded.

"Yes, you should," Adrienne affirmed.

"No, I won't. I don't believe you're married," Ryan said confidently.

"I already told you I am. Do you know me? What do you really know about me? Why can't you believe I'm married?" Adrienne's tone shifted.

"Your face tells me otherwise. You don't even look like someone who plans on settling down anytime soon," Ryan playfully teased.

"Whatever," she dismissively responded.

"Can I please have your phone number?" Ryan requested.

"You already have it. The one I used to call you a few days ago," Adrienne reminded him.

"Come on. Don't you think I tried calling you later that day? It was unreachable. Did you block me? Or do you have multiple numbers?" Ryan questioned.

"Well... yes, I have multiple numbers. I suppose you called when I was away and my staff probably forgot to inform me when I returned," Adrienne elaborated.

"Okay, can I have your main number then?" Ryan asked.

"Do you have your phone? Let me type it in. I don't have mine with me right now," Adrienne responded.

"Alright," Ryan agreed, handing Adrienne his phone. He observed as she entered her number and smiled with satisfaction when he got his phone back.

Daniel approached them with confidence, walking towards Adrienne's seat. Placing his hands gently on her shoulders, he began massaging them with his thumbs. Leaning in towards her ear, he asked, "Are you alright?" and Adrienne nodded in response.

"I still need to catch up with a few more people. It seems like you've been engrossed in conversations too. Just let me know if you're bored or tired, and we can leave, alright?" Daniel stated. Adrienne looked up at him, smiling.

"Let's leave in five minutes. I'm already bored," Adrienne pouted, her eyes and lips forming a playful expression. Daniel teased, "You're such a big baby," before excusing himself to bid farewell to his friends and prepare the car for their departure.

Once Daniel left, Ryan commented, "That was quite an affectionate display." Adrienne replied, "I know, right."

"You left your date stranded. Go talk to her," Adrienne said, referring to Juliette. Ryan reassured her, "It's alright. I'll make it up to her. You're leaving in five minutes, aren't you? I'll probably leave soon too." Adrienne remarked, "You haven't even stayed for an hour." Ryan admitted, "I just came for the pictures, like you," and they both laughed at themselves.

Ryan suggested confidently, "We should collaborate, you know. Let's release a partner collection, perhaps this summer. I can already envision great sales." Adrienne smirked and responded,

"Tch! You've turned this little conversation into business," as she stood up to leave.

"What can I say? I have a talent for turning a profit out of any situation, even the most challenging circumstances. Wealth shadows me," Ryan declared proudly.

Adrienne smirked as she took a few steps towards the exit. However, three seconds later, she abruptly paused.

"Huh?" she exclaimed.

Turning around, Adrienne walked back towards Ryan. "What did you just say?" she asked him. Ryan, slightly puzzled, responded with, "What?" Adrienne raised her tone,

"What did you just say?!"
