Chapter 13 - Honor

Svalbard is the largest continent on the planet Sihir in terms of territory, but unfortunately, most of it is located above the line known as the Northern Ice Line. A line imaginarily drawn by ancient scholars and experts in cartography to facilitate navigation and location.

As recorded in the biography of one of the most famous cartographers of all time, there was a kind of meeting with the best and best known experts in the field of maps in the year 560. In this meeting, numerous ideas, strategies and forms of navigation were discussed. and location.

They also discussed various other types of cataloging, mapping, classification, and territory recognition knowledge. Since that meeting, numerous ideas have emerged that have been adapted, developed and disseminated by these scholars and are still used throughout the planet today.

This meeting became known as the Council of Anaxi and was held in the city of Anaxi, one of the largest cities on the Bordium continent. Also known as the city of scholars or the school of wise dragons.

The Imaginary Lines emerged from one of the ideas established in this meeting. The original idea was to cross lines across the globe, dividing the globe into several sectors. Thus, a Sihir map was crossed with several imaginary lines both horizontally and vertically in relation to its poles.

The concept of poles also came to be studied and established by the Council as each of the ends of Sihir's imaginary axis. And so some main lines were established, with 5 horizontal and 5 vertical imaginary lines.

The 5 horizontal imaginary lines are the North and South Ice Lines, the North and South Forest Lines and the Desert Line. The 5 vertical imaginary lines are the Zircto Lines, the Yeraton Lines and the Xvern Line.

All lines were given a type of position relative to the poles, each marking exactly one measurement in degrees with fixed intervals between each parallel and perpendicular line. All imaginary lines were determined through numerous calculations based on stars, such as known stars and planets.

Since they appeared, imaginary lines began to be used and mapped on maps of all continents. They revolutionized air, sea and land navigation and aided the exploration and mapping of new territories.

But an important piece of information about imaginary lines is that only the 5 vertical lines are named after their creators. The horizontal lines were considered landmarks of temperature and climate.

Therefore, each of the horizontal lines received specific names to determine its area of influence and main characteristics. The closer to the Desert Line, the hotter it gets, and the closer to the poles, the colder it gets.

The Ice Lines have this name because the area that extends from the Line to the respective pole has a coverage of almost 80% of Absolute Ice. A thick layer of ice that never melts without interference happening.

In the case of the South Pole, about 20% of the territory of the Thanax continent is covered by Absolute Ice. But in the case of the Svalbard Continent, almost 70% of the territory is covered by Absolute Ice. However, these numbers only apply to the ¾ of the year, when the climate is not at its minimum temperature peak.

When we talk about the other ¼ of the year, when winter is at its peak and temperatures plummet, these numbers increase by about 15% on both continents. It can vary greatly according to the intensity of winter.

This is one of the reasons why Svalbard is also known as the White Continent. Because of the Absolute Ice and very low temperatures, Svalbard has very little habitable and properly colonized territory.

-------------

After a few minutes of walking in silence, Annabel thought she should say something to lighten the mood between them. Knowing Fianna wasn't going to strike up a conversation and was less than excited about this encounter, she thought she should remember a few things from the past:

"Why, come on Fianna, we're drinking together in Svalbard after all this time. I doubt you're missing me. I bet if Master were here you'd be waving that tail like you were a house cat asking for affection.

Excited, Annabel began to tease and tease Fianna. At the same time, she frolicked around the Quasitigris and tried to grab its long thin tail, in an attempt to get some fun reaction.

But Quasitigris didn't wait to have its case taken up. She dodged the elf and moved a little away from the elf. With a small trace of a smile on her lips, she seemed to happily remember some things from the past. Not only that, but just remembering how she used to act makes her blush deeply even in current times.

Blushing distinctly, even at night, she tried to defend herself from the shameful truths that were exposed by the elf. And she proceeded to expose some shameful truths she knew about the dark elf:

"Speak for yourself, Annabel, I always held back tightly when I was in Master Apollo's presence. Unlike you who never hesitated to get his attention and do anything to get him to touch those ears of yours. Don't think I never saw it happens, on the contrary, I've seen it more times than I can count."

Despite telling truths about the things she's seen, she also regrets her own actions. The truth is that Fianna has always seen and been envious of Annabel's and Helena's attitudes. These two were Apollo's "darlings" precisely because they always asked for help and freely exposed their intentions and emotions to him.

She wanted to be able to stay in Apollo's warm, gentle embrace, wanted him to caress and comfort her whenever possible. Even though this happened a few times, she always felt that it was never enough, and she regrets to this day not being more explicit with her desires.

She's always been jealous and wanted to be able to expose her feelings so easily and be more dependent on other people, especially Apollo. But she feels that this is getting further away and impossible to happen.

"Hmph, so what? I've always been honest and have made no secret of my joy and affection for the Master. We dark elves are very empathetic by nature, don't forget that, Fianna. If you feel anger, hatred, disgust or discomfort towards me, I I feel clearly and I know how to reciprocate. At the same time, when they feel affection, respect or affection for me, I also feel and reciprocate."

As a Dark Elf, Annabel has grayish-black skin. It is extremely difficult to know that she is blushing, but it gets easier the stronger the shame she is feeling. Basically, she loses the gray tone of her skin in some parts of her face and neck, turning a vivid black tone.

And now, Annabel has this tone all over her face and neck, indicating just how embarrassed she is. The truths she thought were secret were revealed by those she least expected.

But that didn't stop her from answering the accusations and exposing her point of view. Perhaps, at the time, she was too young to differentiate the feelings and emotions she had. Experience with strong emotions up to that time was very little.

That's why she hardly knew how to respond to the feelings of the people around her. She felt and knew only vaguely what those emotions were, so it was not unusual for her to get confused and confused.

Whether it's a fight she caused because she got too angry or some accident that happened because she mistook a mean prank for something harmless. Situations arose and she hardly knew how to deal, only as she got used to it and gained experience, she started to improve.

But she clearly remembers that Apollo always showed the same kind of feeling to his disciples. A warm, comfortable kind of affection that made her always want to be close to him.

She had always admired that sentiment and was clear in her desire, just as she had always been aware of Fianna's envy of it.

As if to try to remind and alert Fianna to the matter, Annabel spoke more calmly and softly:

"You know very well that Master would have done the same thing too if you asked. Even Emmanuel and Daehyun always asked for help when they had difficulties and received attention and affection whenever Master saw fit."

Stopping suddenly and positioning herself in front of Fianna, she waited to look deeply into the Quasitigris' eyes. And looking into the Dark Elf's eyes, Fianna replied in the same tone of voice:

"I know, and that's why I regret it to this day. If I had known that those years of boarding at Babel and its hellish training would be the best years of my life, I would have enjoyed it as much as I could. I would have laughed more, I would have risked more, I would have been more spoiled and less serious. I would have done everything differently."

Fianna's eyes began to shine with emotion as she remembered the past and what could have been different. But shortly after, the glow faded and she sighed heavily.

No longer looking into Annabel's eyes, just at the road made of some resistant and porous black material, Fianna continued her wandering, but now with a melancholy tone.

"Master knew that, he warned us and advised us to make the most of it without worrying about anything else. He was concerned about our training so that we didn't have to waste time on it. He wanted us to see the world, meet people of the most diverse races and faced the most varied situations."

Shifting her gaze from the road to the totally clear, star-filled sky, she decided to end her melancholy rambling. She began to speak seriously and firmly again:

"But that time has passed, Annabel. We must move forward, not just for ourselves, we must do it to honor the principles that Master taught us. And for that, we must bring justice to each and every individual who commits atrocities, even if a of these be our own Master. This is a matter of honor for all of us."
