Elves, like humans, animans, and chimedeans, are divided into several races. They can be found on all 5 continents and are very well adapted to different climates.
They can be easily identified regardless of their race. Their ears are extremely long and delicate, but the cartilage in their ears is extremely tough and malleable.
The cartilage is strong enough to support the elf's entire weight without suffering severe damage. In contrast, elves have a high sensitivity in their ears and ears, so they avoid any unfamiliar ringing in the ears or loud sounds.
The ears can also tilt in different directions to indicate its mood. But only people who are intimate or who have a lot of contact with the particular elf will know how to distinguish their emotions. If the elf allows it, he can simply control his ears or try to hide them.
As a Dark Elf, Annabel inherited some of that race's quirks. What is quite common when it comes to transmitting genes, several breeds have striking characteristics that pass from generation to generation.
The dark elves are elves originating from the Aricles Desert which lies in the passage between Wallbur and Astanium. A dry and very hot place with few food and water resources.
But it's safe enough against the tier 3 and 4 beasts that often venture out of the Great Forest of Anansi further south of Astanium.
To survive in such an inhospitable place, the dark elves were nomadic gatherers and hunters. They gathered and hunted what they found by day and at night they used the stars to travel great distances.
In addition, they needed to exchange trade and information with other races and tribes frequently. Always informing yourself about routes, resources and potential dangers.
These and many other circumstances were responsible for shaping what the dark elves are. Few features of the original dark elves have been lost over time.
Among these characteristics we can mention: High resistance of the organism, High vigor, Low sensitivity of the skin, very resistant bone tissue, bad hearing in comparison with other elves, very efficient digestion of food and water, etc.
Abundance mentality, high sociability, protective instinct and violent personality are part of the characteristics that the collective and social mind of dark elves have developed.
But we always have to remember that these characteristics are not an absolute truth. Dark elves are also personal individuals with individual egos and consciences. Therefore, despite serving as a guide to the race, a single dark elf should not be judged on that basis alone.
Which is not the case with Annabel Orléans. She is a dark elf as original as those who still lived in the desert. All the features mentioned above can be attributed to it. In fact, a Dark Elf like in the books.
"Hahaha Calm down, Annabel, take it easy. I'm not up to no good, that's not my style. What I want is to try to leave here with a weapon to use. If we don't have a way to defend ourselves from the rain of blows that Pietro has prepared, we can say goodbye to our current positions."
After a very relaxed laugh, Emmanuel began to patiently explain himself in a calm voice. He tried to calm Annabel by giving an explanation of her intentions. Which worked to a certain extent, Annabel no longer exuded as much distrust and had no intention of attacking.
Although she had calmed down after discovering Emmanuel's intentions, Annabel still had some doubts about what idea he had proposed. Then, in an inquisitive but calm voice, she began to speak:
"You still haven't explained why you want Level 4 information. Nor have you explained how this type of information will help us."
The idea itself wasn't what she wanted to know. You could see in her speech that her real curiosity was to determine the intention behind his idea.
But Emmanuel was not intimidated or offended by her excessive distrust. He was more interested in explaining her idea so everyone could understand what he had planned.
So he searched for words and had a thoughtful expression on his face for a few moments as his gaze kept changing focus and his square pupil dilated.
After a few seconds of thinking, Emmanuel came out of his trance and refocused on Annabel. And in a more serious voice and with a firmer and more decisive tone he began to speak:
"What I do know is that Level 4 information is powerful even when unrevealed. Knowledge is power, Annabel. The N-Force is considered the most dangerous criminal organization even without having military power like Trinity or Graviton. With the information sure, we can pressure the right people to get alternative results in this trial. Just know who needs what."
As he continued to speak, his gaze shifted from Annabel to the others. As soon as he finished speaking, everyone in the room could understand what he had in mind.
The expressions of everyone in the room gained a glimmer of hope as they realized Emmanuel's idea. And it wasn't long before everyone had started thinking and planning about the next moves to make.
Daehyun was the first to speak up and put into words what everyone had in mind. He spoke in a very simple way what they were going to do:
"That is, we are abandoning the idea of going head-to-head with Pietro and Lady Ivanov. But we are going headlong into the plan to gather information and political support. That way we can win this judgment in an alternative way. They can soften and hide the Lord Apollo's crimes, but we'll be able to influence the final decision. I like that idea, Emmanuel."
After Daehyun finished talking, it was Annabel's turn. She had gone back to her relaxed expression, and her tone was lighter and more cheerful again. She began to speak after laughing:
"Hehe A simple but effective idea, just the way I like it. I apologize for being suspicious of your intentions, Emmanuel."
Hearing her tone of voice and seeing the change in Annabel's expression, Emmanuel also relaxed and returned to her calm and relaxed expression. After a small chuckle, he spoke in a less serious voice than before:
"Hahahaha It's always a pleasure to be threatened by you, Annabel. It's been a while since the last time."
After the two understood each other, the atmosphere of tension in the room finally dissipated. In fact, the mood was lightening as everyone continued to think about the idea.
Everyone's expression also started to change, becoming more and more optimistic. Even Fianna, who had been scratching the bat until now, suddenly changed her mood and demeanor.
She stopped sharpening her claws, handed the staff back to her companion, and returned to sit properly in her chair. After returning to normal behavior, Fianna began speaking in a serious and slightly optimistic voice:
"We lost the battle, but we didn't lose the war. Yeah, I like how this looks like a plan. So let's try to get it into action as soon as possible."
Her words confirmed what everyone was thinking. They needed to start devising a plan to get important information about the Apollo Kairis trial.
They know that even though Apollo Kairis becomes a criminal, he is still an extremely valuable resource. It would not be surprising if there were several powerful figures exerting pressure behind the scenes.
Just as an experienced angler knows that there are good and bad places to fish, they also need to know where they are going to cast their bait. Depending on the information they gather, deals can be made or changed in their favor.
But Helena suddenly interrupted everyone's thoughts. In an alarmed voice she said:
"Apollo Kairis's trial will last 7 days. 1 day for each crime that we managed to discover. As you are representatives sent from the 5 continents and I am the one Babel appointed to coordinate the trial, we cannot leave Redsnow during these 7 days. "
Her concerns were valid. None of them can leave the Capital of the Kingdom of Svalbard, which makes it difficult for the plan to progress. Helena didn't finish talking, and still with a worried tone she continued:
"In addition, we have less than 7 days to get relevant information about something that Babel is hiding and about who is doing what to influence the trial. The more I think about it, the more in doubt I am."
Everyone was thoughtful. Tough questions were raised shortly after they started to have a solid plan. However, they weren't left with doubts for long.
Who came forward to present a solution to the recent problem was Celeste. She was still paying attention, even though she was drowsy. And in his calm, measured voice he said:
"I believe that we... don't need to go looking for information personally... We all have contacts... and trusted people... We can just get in touch... with these people so that they... do this for us..."
The first to respond and give her opinion on this alternative was Annabel. Who said with a tone of mockery and conformism:
"It's a very bad solution. As they say: if you want it done, have it done, but if you want it done well, do it yourself. I'm sure we won't get good results, but unfortunately that's what we have for today."
No one spoke, but these words defined everyone's thoughts well. The workaround was never as good as the original.
Them using third parties to get information was a very easy way to announce their plans to the public. And instead of gaining any advantage, they would lose even more.
But in the current situation, they needed to take risks. Any information would be enough for them to try to get more from the source.
To try to get everyone's focus back on the plan, Fianna caught everyone's attention and began to speak:
"We are going to elaborate a basic plan of action to guide us. As we have less than 7 days to get information, we must be focused and only contact people we trust completely and who are efficient in the service. In addition, we must focus on quality instead of amount."
Soon, a goal was established and a basic action plan was created. But they need to define roles and discover possible flaws in the plan and some other details.
