Lily continued, a hint of sadness in her voice. "Your mom and dad got married and moved to a different city. I wanted to go with them, but I couldn't leave my family behind. We promised to keep in touch, but as time passed, our letters became less frequent, and eventually, we lost contact altogether."
Sarah's face fell, and she looked at her dad. "Dad, why didn't we ever find Lily before?" Sarah asked, wondering the reason behind it.
Dennison sighed, his voice filled with regret. "Life got busy, Sarah. Your mom and I focused on building a life for our family, and somehow, we lost touch with Lily. But fate works in mysterious ways, and now we have been given a chance to reconnect."
Lily reached out and held Sarah's hand gently. "I'm sorry we lost touch, Sarah. But I want you to know that your mom was an incredible person, and she loved you more than anything in this world. She would have been so proud of the person you've become."
