Chapter 14 - The Number Five volume fourteen

As I was saying those words, I was pointing at my forearm bone, which David had in his grasp. His face had a mixture of expressions ranging from confusion to anger. He looked at his left hand; the blood dripping from my bone made him realize what I was talking about. "Come and get!" he said, biting the bottom of his lip. The rest of his group was terrified at the sight of my body rising from their abuse. I struggled to get to David, but I got face-to-face with him, his blood dripping onto his shoe and soaking it all the way through. The woman, soaked herself in her fluids, was barking next to the dumpster. I threw myself against the brick wall, pulling my shoulder back into place. As I'm doing so, I turn to the woman who is puking and say, "Go home; you're not with them." The area where I'm standing in a puddle of blood after I heard my shoulder snap back into place. "Get him!" David said timidly. I glanced up and saw a bunch of crows on the power lines, waiting to devour what was left. Tori dashed over to the skinny boy, pointing the gun at me, but all I heard was a clicking, "Fuck it!" She tossed the gun at me, and I caught it with the gap between my calf and shin. Throwing my leg up, the gun flew into the air and landed in the dumpster. I reached out towards David, whispering to him, "I'm taking this back," pulling my forearm from his grasp. The bone cut David, and as I pulled it away from him as he held his hand, blood started to pour out of it. I forcefully put the bone back into my arm. The bone kept falling out, so I put it inside my right pocket to keep it from falling. Tori got the look of a genocidal maniac from me. "Go home!" David and the others sucked their teeth as they dashed out of the alley. A sobbing voice was crawling its way to me: "I'm sorry, I needed the money."

I asked her " how much money were they going to pay you for this action?", she nodded her head out of disbelief " they gave me twenty for this. After the planned work they were going to give the rest which was fifty.". After her answer I made my way at the end of the alley wobbling my way, I stopped and looked around to see where I was at, " where is the nearest hospital?". Her voice was shaking "if you take a left out this alley keep going for nine miles you see a huge building saying hospital in the side of it",I took a sharp glance at her waving my broken left hand at her saying "goodbye". I took her advice and continued the path,I didn't care that I was on the verge of death I knew that I had to see twenty-two. The streets were tainted black the amount of pain I was going through was nothing unusual for me,in front of me was a convenient store. The door swing opened there was somebody behind the stand," welcome si-", his voice stopped but his lips kept on moving. I got to the front counter slamming my hand on the hard wood table, my right pinky and index finger flew behind him. The bones made a sound of chalk on a board, while making eye contact with the clerk. " Can you hand me those back?", he turns around picking up my fingers from the floor. He tossed my fingers back onto the counter, his eyes were dashing back and fourth. Before he spoke I asked him the question " what time is it?", he took a quick look at his watch on his left wrist. "It- it's six-thirty am, I think you need to go to an ER", I picked up my finger from the counter putting them in the same pocket where my forearm bone is in.As I'm shuffling my fingers into my pocket ' thanks for the time, and for my fingers". I got halfway through the door before the man stopped me before exiting the store, " hey kid I can take you to the Hospital!'. He turned his head into the direction of the back of the shop " hey new kid take care of the shop while I'm gone", he walked around the corner where I was heading. He pulled out some keys, I followed the man who was helping me. Around the corner was a beat up old car the passenger side the window had no window, there was a blue tarp covering it. I tried opening the passenger side but it wouldn't budge, I heard a loud click sound. " Now try it", as I opened the door it stopped halfway. I slide my way into the car where I noticed that the passenger door was being held in place by zip ties, I pulled the door back but I noticed that two of the zip ties broke so I had to hold the door while he rode. He put the key into the ignition, the sound of the engine sounded like it needed its oil changed. We pulled out from around the corner, while going down the road I looked at the man driving. " Sorry for making your car seats dirty", he went from thirty to sixty to enter the highway. The car slides to the open lane, I start to feel light headed due to the amount of pain and blood. I know this pain too well my body is starting to shut down, his eyes met mine " hey kid you still kicking over there!". My voice was being blocked by the blood in my throat, I spit the blood out it landed on some old newspapers. "Yeah I'm still alive, sorry for making you do this", shaking his head while driving." Tell you what you one tough ass kid"!", a loud squeal sounds rings out. The force of the car stopped slinging me out of the car, I went head first through the windshield. Bouncing off the car that the man had hit my head landed first on the pavement, putting a large gash on my side of my head. I turned my head to the side so I wouldn't choke on my blood, both drivers came out to check up on me. As I was forcing myself up one of the drivers said " I think you need to stay down and wait for the ambulance". I tried standing up but with no success, I yelled at the ' please help me!". After my outrage the gash on my stomach opened up a small piece of intestine started to poke out, both of them helped me up to my feet. I asked both of them " how far away is the hospital?!, also what time is it?", the man who took me to this point looked at his watch then came back to me. " Look kid the time is the least of your worries", I gave him a sharp glance that could cut through glass. With hesitation " it's eight o clock on the dot, the hospital is a fifth minute walk from here if you take the exit".
