On the stage stood Lucas and Alicia. Many of the factions who wanted to recruit Lucas had their eyes on him.
Although he had not used any fancy techniques or even his element, the control which he had shown over sword was extremely fascinating. They wanted to know the depth of his powers.
As per her strategy Alicia flew up in the air. Lucas didn't reacted to this. He stood where he was casually.
Alicia frowned seeing this. They both stared at each other for moments but no side made the move first. Finally impatience took over Alicia and she created a pillar of fire and shot it at Lucas.
Lucas remained unfazed by move. He then vertically slashed his sword. A sword beam was produced and it split the pillar into two. The beam didn't immediately disintegrate but rushed towards Alicia.
She dodged the beam but before she could think further Lucas slashed his sword again and a beam much more faster than previous one rushed towards Alicia.
Alicia reacted quick to dodge it but even so was grazed in her right arm by the beam. Her expression turned grim. Her being in air and Lucas on ground didn't gave any advantage to her.
She frowned and then landed back on the stage. Even though the her flight gave an advantage it also restricted her maneuvering capability. So without the advantage she decided to land. Also she wouldn't need to waste any mana and have full access to her mana pool.
After staring Lucas for few moments she spoke, "I will use my strongest move. If you take this one you would be the winner."
What followed her speech was an enormous bird phantom of fire. The phantom was same as the last time she used against Leo but this time it was extremely vivid. The mana was also very much more dense than last time.
Lucas expression did not changed even an bit. He pointed his sword. At the moment fire element started to dance around his body. He had decided to use the fire element publicly.
His fire element was extremely hot. Alicia's fire element was like a baby infront of an adult. For the first time her expression changed into of a surprise.
The element moved behing Lucas and an enormous sword phantom was created.
This was 'Devouring sword strike' the technique Lucas got from Amden. As the name suggested it devoured the mana and made opponents strike loose its effect. Although the capacity to devour mana was limited and dependent on the capacity of the user, it was still a powerful technique.
For the spectators although they awed at the sword phantom they didn't felt true might of the sword. Only rare few at the top understood. At their level this sword was nothing, but at the age which Lucas created this thing made their heart palpitate.
The bird and the sword moved towards each other. But the moment it collided it was nothing like the big explosion everyone was expecting. Instead Lucas sword cut through the bird as if hot knife cutting a butter. The sword cleaved the bird into two and not only that it also sucked all the mana of the bird into itself and continued further.
It stopped just above Alicia.
Lucas didn't said anything. He waved his hand the phantom disappeared and he jumped of the stage.
Alicia's expression turned into a dejection but soon she regained her composure and she also jumped down the stage.
The audience was dazed at the battle technique Lucas used. Even if it was powerful to cleave the bird into two how could he absorb the mana of the fire burd? Just what that technique was?
