Berry suddenly burst into tears, startling everyone, including Stuart, who was holding him. It started as silent sobs that eventually progressed into cries so loud that his shoulders shook, and Stuart was having a hard time consoling him. While he patted Berry's back, he glared at the unfamiliar faces with eyes that suddenly gave the three a sense of foreboding, making them shiver and instantly turn away, wondering what they had done wrong.
"Shhh… it's fine now. Everything is fine. I'm here. Stop crying," Stuart coerced, gently patting Berry's back to comfort him. Berry didn't even know what made him cry. He was just too happy to see Stuart that it overwhelmed him, and once the dam broke, the flood was unstoppable. He finally stopped crying with his little sniffles filling the room. Stuart literally kissed his b tears away in front of everyone, which left them gaping from both shock and Stuart's audacity to kiss Berry without regard for the elders.
