Chapter 2 - 12 January, Year 2223, Mid-Conflict:

"Do I remember what life was like before the war? No. It seems like a distant dream to me now, I cannot recall what the air smelled like during those days."

– Unknown.

CIOPHAN:

"I do fear that I am at an impasse. No matter how much I struggle, no matter how much I succeed; it returns to the equilibrium. A yin and yang," She mutters with utter defeat.

Ciophan resorted to a quiet outlook above, admiring the stars in the sky that shone through in the blistering-hot heat. It bothered her none, her red-tainted complexion absorbed the radiated sun with ease. Ciophan sat alone in a stillness that displeased her. She yearned for others, to see her creations thrive in her presence. Yet, she knew the dangerous that arose with the wishes she hoped for. Her mere absence endangered humanity's survival, by forgoing to live on the planet they call "Earth", Ciophan had left humans to their own devices. She weighed the difficulty of choices she had, and decided leaving it in the hands of her children would hopefully sway a better outcome.

'The final struggle draws near,' She spoke softly as she arose from her throne. The throne made for her in millennia passed. Made from the branches of old Eden, the throne stood the test of time – brown twisted branches that seeded critters and creatures no bigger than an arachnid. Ciophan admired the craftsmanship of the throne, it was the last gift she'd received from her other. Sadness for his dereliction was intolerable for her, he had made his decision, and they were to go to war with one another. Ciophan was prepared to accept her imminent defeat a day prior, but she'd learnt unusual information that would tip the tide of battle in her favour.

'But fate has thrown me one more piece,' Ciophan muttered. 'I must ensure her safety, for my cause.'

The reliance on a single woman that determined the fate of humanity was unplanned, but Ciophan welcomed irregularity in a world that strives for order.

"Find her, and save her," Ciophan stated.

A cloaked figure stood behind her, draped in a shadow of mystique with a long coat. The figure's face obstructed by a polycarbonate-plated mask to shield themself from the lack of atmosphere. The creator, Ciophan had no need for silly equipment to allow her to breathe on the Moon. She had been a bio-human for as long as she could remember, though it were against her will, she was still alive today. Without a second thought, the cloaked figure bowed their head, acknowledging their creator's demand. The journey to Earth was to be arduous, over a day's travel on the fastest ship they had available.

"Take my son with." Ciophan stated as the cloaked figure walked from her.

"But- He's only eight years old…" The mysterious figure responded.

"He must go with. No matter how old he is. He must see both sides of the coin."

The masked figure bowed their head, acknowledging the command. They walked away without a second to spare, headed for Earth.

"Dux, with the knowledge I have gained, I am sure to win our war," Ciophan spoke with a sour-mouth, "Or else they are all doomed."

A game of chess between two creators was nearing its conclusion. A blunder had been posed right before Ciophan's face, she would not let the opportunity for a counterattack go.
