"She's brave, cunning, headstrong."
- Hiroshi.
Misako:
Under the surface of the Triton, Misako sat waiting in her Spyder. She lit a vapourised cigarette, patiently observing the outside. Floor B4 was her domain, her hunting ground. The lowest section of the underside in Triton was home to the mafia and criminals. Those that lived below the surface would never see the above, living underground for the rest of their lives. As an officer within the Protectorate Corporation™, Misako had chosen to serve the people below. Her father questioned her motives as to why she'd chosen to solely operate underside. Misako felt a sore heart for them, citizens living below-surface were forced to deal with robberies, hijackings, kidnappings, and murders on a daily basis. She could not imagine two-billion citizens living below, a number inconceivable to her. Her watch-device pinged as the time had transitioned to midnight, her late-night shift had only begun. Her custom built Spyder sat under a dimly lit road opposite the nearest quick-stop grocery store. She and her father had built the Spyder when she had graduated from the academy, it was her prized possession besides her weapon.
"Hopefully, it's a calm evening, tonight." Misako spoke to herself.
She noticed her Spyder was low on fuel, and she scoffed. She was running out of Vils for the month, quickly. She took out a single Vil-vial from her pocket, and inserted it into the main console of the Spyder. The vehicle absorbed the Elephant-blood from the vial, and the fuel gauge on her vehicle filled to half-way. Misako did live on a comfortable salary, but she would spend most of her Vils on bullets and repairs for her vehicle.
"I'm going to have to borrow some more Vils from my dad, again…" She muttered.
Then, a static-ping sounded from her Blue-Whale in her ear:
"Attention units on floor B sector 4, a bank robbery has been detected. Three suspects have fled the scene in an illegal Spyder," The spokesperson said through the Blue-Whale.
"I spoke to soon," Misako commented, then, she pinged her Blue-Whale to communicate.
"This is Misako Taylor, Code 7AY. I will be responding," She spoke.
"Officer Taylor, be advised they are armed and dangerous," The spokesperson replied.
"I will be fine, heading out." Misako ended the communication.
Before she could turn on her vehicle, she spotted a racing vehicle speed towards her. The illegally-modified Spyder suddenly stopped in front of the grocery store. Three men disembarked the vehicle, each of them heavily armoured with plating and Volt-guns. One individual was visibly wounded, blood seeped from their abdomen. The two other assailants carried the injured inside the grocery-store.
"No way," Misako commented.
Misako hid herself inside her vehicle in order for them to not see her. She peaked her head out as they made their way inside the store.
'RING, RING.'
Misako received a call on her Blue-Whale, it was a phone call and not a communication from the Protectorate.
"Incoming call from Hiroshi," The Blue-Whale stated.
"What does he want now?" Misako asked herself.
She sighed, and tapped her earpiece, answering the call.
"What? I'm busy," She whispered.
"Misako, we are in pursuit of three suspects. I see they are headed your direction," Hiroshi spoke.
"I know, they stopped right in front of me, they went inside the quick-stop grocery store."
"Do not do anything, wait for backup," Hiroshi commanded.
"Too late," Misako said, ending the call.
Misako stepped out from her Spyder, walking casually towards the grocery store. As she walked, she could hear a female-voice scream come from within. 'Stay patient, pretend to be a civilian,' Misako thought to herself. She was glad she had not worn her Protectorate uniform that day, she was dressed in her casual all-black getup with black boots. She walked closer to the front doors of the store, and peeked inside: 'Three suspects; one is injured. They are threatening the cashier,' She spoke internally, seeing the commotion inside. Misako took a breather, then walked inside.
"We just want medical supplies! Give it!" One male voice spoke.
"We won't hurt you! Get us what we need!" The other added.
Misako walked closer to the group, ensuring not to make a sound. The cashier in front noticed Misako's eyes glaze over. Misako held a finger out to hush the cashier, to not alert them to her presence. She reached inside her pocket, feeling for her Adrena-Max. The small vial, made from cheetahs, enabled the user to gain superhuman reflexes and speed, in addition to an adrenaline boost to the system. She injected the vial into her leg, feeling a rush of energy hit her system. Misako held her weapon, the Scorpion, in her right hand. She inspected the cartridge round loaded inside her gun.
'Lethal dissolving rounds.' She thought.
The Scorpion was a gift from her ex-husband. The weapon, able to load different round projectiles inside, was powerful in its use. Though only a single round could be loaded at a time. Dissolving rounds, created from cobra DNA, the cytotoxic rounds were capable of completely disintegrating the target's skin and bone.
The three unidentifiable suspects kept their backs turned from Misako, it was her opportunity to pounce. With a single bound, she leapt, grabbing the injured suspect by the neck. She held the Scorpion against the suspect's head. With a scream, the two remaining individuals turned to see Misako.
"Weapons down, boys." Misako stated.
"Shit, she got Z." One of the individuals exclaimed.
"Let's just have you both set your weapons down. Let's not let this get messy."
"No, forget about me!" The injured person screamed.
The two suspects lifted their weapons, Volt-Rifles aimed at Misako.
'Dammit,' Misako thought.
She aimed her Scorpion at the individual on the left, and she pulled the trigger.
'ZZZZZZZZZZZWIP'
The round went into the individual's chest. Almost instantly, the round began eating at the man's chest. Misako, with the injured suspect in hand, dodged to safety on her left. The man let out a horrifying scream at the toxins ate away. The cashier ducked down behind the counter, screaming for help.
'BANG!'
The Volt-Rifle from the second individual flew past Misako's arm, nearly grazing her. She waited in cover, loading another round into her Scorpion with her teeth. She did not want anymore unnecessary deaths, and loaded a non-lethal paralysing round made from toadfishes.
"Who are you!" The individual screamed at Misako.
"Protectorate service! Surrender now and you and your friend may still live!" She yelled back.
"Never, we will liberate this world." The injured person said as Misako held him.
Misako leapt from cover, holding the injured suspect as a body-shield in front of her. The other suspect was too late in his reaction, and fired a Volt-Rifle round into the chest of the injured comrade. Instantly killing him.
"K! No!" They yelled.
Misako aimed her Scorpion, and fired at the last suspect. With another 'ZZZZZZZZZZZWIP' the projectile ate at the subject's face instantly. He fell to the floor, yelping in pain and clawing at his face. Seconds later, he was silent, dead. Misako instructed the cashier to wait outside the store, and the cashier scrambled outside. She was glad she used the Adrena-Max, she would have not reacted fast enough otherwise. She knelt down to inspect the suspects, but her eyes shot open as she investigated their bodies.
"What? Blue-Blood?" She spoke to herself.
She touched the blood, inspecting it. She confirmed her observation by unmasking the individuals on the floor. They were all Terrans. Red-Skinned humanoids with small-horns protruding from their foreheads.
"That does not make sense… How are Terrans here…on Earth?" She asked.
Then, behind her, a yelling noise commanded her.
"Weapons down! Identify yourself immediately!" A robotic voice yelled.
Misako held her hands up as she slowly turned around to face them. Seven Protectorate Bots stood at the entrance. Their Volt-Rifles aimed at her.
"Misako Taylor, Protectorate Officer! Code number 7-A-Y." She replied.
The Protectorate Bots held their weapons down as they scanned her face for identification. They stood at ease as they confirmed her identity. Without another word, they waited for their commanding officer to walk in. A man walked inside, his vapour-cigarette lit in mouth. Misako sighed as she recognised his face.
"I told you to wait for me." He spoke.
"Hello, Hiroshi." Misako greeted.
