Chapter 18 - Unconventional discussions

Theodore is walking towards the throne room. He looks outside a window and sees his capital being rebuilt. He scratches his face, he feels hints of growing hair. Theodore turns his head back to the hallway, he gets in front of the door, he takes a deep breath and exhales it.

He enters the room, he sees lots of servants ready to serve him, in any way possible.

"I've been here for two days, there is no need for this commotion for me." Everyone looks at him, "I need none of this attention, you can be at ease" Everyone is still confused. "My king" A servant wants to say something and gets interrupted by Theodore. "I am not a king officially yet. I don't even know why you should address me like this."

"We admire you, kiin- I mean sir. We expected you to be like our former king, we are sorry for making such a fuss." Theodore gives a smile. "I understand. You're not in your comfort day to day life, but please, understand that and don't make assumptions, I am not your normal nobility."

Theodore sits on the throne, he looks at them leaving. From behind it guardian E comes from behind the throne. "Find what you are interested in?" She nods. "Did you know I was here?" Theodore shakes his head, "What are guardians good for if you notice them." "Good, what do you want from me now my lord?"

Theodore raised his eyebrow. "Nothing. I just wait for my friends to come." They both wait looking at the elevator. "Do you plan to get married sir?" "Once I know what to do next in my life probably. I didn't want this, but most of our capable lords got killed by the rebellion at the former king's wedding. And my uncle is retiring, I am the only option. I am also too young for marriage, I am 16 years old, the youngest human king this planet had was 14 and they had 3 wives, guess what happened to him?" "What?" Theodore sees the elevator's doors opening.

"He is still king of Liberta." Ghost, Seraphine and Rinehart burst through the doors. "Oh mighty king!" Said Rinehart with a playful tone, joking, he also gives a bow. "Enough with that, I called you guys here for something important." Said Theodore. The three didn't notice guardian E. "I gave all my people from the war party a free week, this means also you three."

Rinehart looks at him, nods, and leaves. "Say hello to your wife and child for me Rinehart!"

Ghost looks at Theodore a bit reluctant. "Are you sure?" "Ghost if you don't leave I am gonna send you to oblivion" Ghost nods and leaves. "Thank you my lord" Theodore looks at Seraphine. "Do something for your free time, buy clothes, do something you like, I don't know what normal people do these days, war broke me." Seraphine shakes her head.

"As a god given servant, I shall stay with you at all times. Even if you order me to leave." She crosses her arms. "Got it?" She said to Theodore. "Got it." Afrims Theodore. "If I leave anywhere, how could you dress yourself properly, how could you put your belt, who will help you if you want to write, because your left hand writing is atrocious.

Theodore chuckles at Seraphine's words. "Alright, alright, you've made your point. I appreciate the dedication, but I promise I can manage the basics on my own." He smirks playfully. "Though, I can't deny that having a personal assistant does have its perks."

Seraphine raises an eyebrow, a hint of amusement in her expression. "Personal assistant? Is that what I am now?"

"Well technically yes, you are a different type of assistant, you're a god-given, sword-wielding, camouflage-wearing personal assistant. And that's the start of the job description." She grins, her mouth corners can't help it but give in.

"The sad thing now is that I have lots of work to do, like signing official papers for the coronation event, that's happening sunday, and guess what I need someone to help me, because three hands are better than one left hand."

Seraphine smirks, her eyes glinting with playful mischief. "Ah, so now I see the true reason behind my appointment as your esteemed personal assistant. You just needed an extra hand, preferably one that's not atrocious at writing."Theodore chuckles again, shaking his head. "You caught me. It's all a master plan to improve my penmanship." Guardian E clears her throat with a strong cough. "I notice seeing you two flirting, as your guard I suggest more work and less flirting."

They glare at each other, and both burst into laughter. Theodore hardly composed himself. "Excuse ourselves guardian E. I should've been more professional." Seraphine tries to stop, but she hardly stops. Theodore gets off his throne, grabs Seraphine and walks away.

Guardian E looks at them leave, she sighs. She trunks back to the throne, opening a secret passage. She enters it, and the door closes behind her.
